We were a little skeptical considering the restaurant was so close to tourist areas. We loved the menu which had a very affordable wine list. We were never rushed and enjoyed drinks before the meal and finished with a desert and limoncello. The pasta dishes were excellent and the service was professional and friendly. One of our best meals in Italy! It was obvious that the host (Fabiano) knew many of his patrons. Not a tourist trap! Definitely a locals spot! I can't recommend enough.

3.5/4 Stars Carbonara was great (the second time around)! Served with pieces of bacon and had a rich flavor. The first time it came out, it was undercooked. I like al dente pasta but it was actually not cooked all the way so we sent it back-which I hate doing but wasn't going to eat half cooked pasta. The meatballs were excellent and came with a delicious fried starch of some kind (we guessed potato but could have also been rice). Also was a generous portion for a starter. Bread isn't complementary so we paid for two orders to sop up the meatballs and sauce. Even though bread was paid for, it was just okay. Would have been a nice touch to have it warmed before presenting at the table. Service was nice and they were kind about remaking the undercooked pasta. Conveniently located near the Colosseum and Forum.

We started with the potato croquette and one with rice, mozzarella, c Pros: Ambiance, friendly service, clean. Dinner time. Ambiance A+. Croquette( (filled with rice, marinara, and mozzarella) delicious. I was expecting more with the main course given the big start in flavor, balance, and texture )with the first. Unfortunately, we were let down ; the carbonara rigatoni was beyond al dente ( texture of eggshells. I always prepare my pasta al dente, but do not like crunchy pasta) and the pasta Via Della Magliana was lacking in flavor and lukewarm. Disappointing. Recommend staying for appetizers and moving on for something more satisfying for your next course.

Decided to eat here late one evening after long day of walking around Rome. The service was awesome but it Took about an hour to get our food out from the time we ordered. Having said this, the wait was well worth it. We ordered salted meat focaccia bread for appetizer and pasta for dinner. The focaccia bread was oven baked and tasted crispy. The meat was salty and savory. Strongly recommend this if mood for appetizer: The pasta included pasta carbonara which had chunks of huge pieces of crispy bacon. My mouth is watering just thinking about it right now. Can't go wrong getting any of the pasta dishes This is the type of place where the locals go for great Italian food. Although it's close to tourist attractions it is not a tourist trap and the amazing food is well worth it! Can't wait to come back and try his again.

Our friends recommended this wonderful place to us. If you go a little later (our reservation at 730 when they were first opening was too early for the kitchen and wait staff) and don't fill up on the appetizers - good but no reason to fill up prior to the pasta and main courses - you'll make the absolute most of this delicious fare. The carbonara was as advertised by a yelper who said "order it like your life depends on it." Simply put, it was the best pasta dish I have ever eaten! The mains were all rich and superb. Wine list is great and fairly priced. We enjoyed the heck out of the ambience and the food. Really worthwhile in a city where you have to work hard to find a bad meal.

Stumbled upon the restaurant while walking home with my date from the hipster/popular Travastere neighborhood - we were both to sporadic experiences so we went on in. The beautiful and kind bartender sat us immediately, gave us menus and took our drink orders. Within 4 minutes we hand out drinks (beautifully prepared) and snacks in front of us. If you're used to Italian time you understand this is LIGHT SPEED! Overall. 5 star for beverage prep, presentation, timing and environment here. Will definitely be back!

This is a incredibly unique place in Rome. We stumbled across this place while walking around Circo Maximus and looking for a restaurant to eat dinner. The place looked amazing from the outside and the prices were very reasonable to be in such a beautiful place. The restaurant owners were very friendly and accommodating. We sat in the room were you can admire both the Circo Massimo and the Roman wall inside the restaurant. The food is traditional Roman plates and recipes, with a modern twist. They even have slow cooked BBQ Brisket that the chef Fabrizio highly recommends. My husband and I had the Bucatini Matriciana and the fresh Raviolis which were excellent. Before the pasta, the owner suggested we try the tempura vegetables, the fresh Burrata and Croquettes (another traditional Roman appetizer) all fantastic. The wine list is incredible and extensive for every budget from the local red and white wine table from the local farmer to $60 Chianti Classico Reserve, Barolo, Moltepulciano and Merlot. This is a place we definitely recommend. You must try the Sicilian Fruttini (strawberries filled with strawberry gelato, walnut filled with walnut gelato etc.) for dessert apparently they are very hard to find.

By the time we were seated, dozens of people were waiting behind us. We sipped an Aperol spritz and lemonade while we waited, chatting with fellow diners who raved about the restaurant. On a sweltering day, our kids were starting to struggle in the heat when the owner came outside and gave them mini pizzas breads. It was a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Once seated, we ordered burrata, cacio e pepe, amatriciana pasta, pork chops, and fried artichokes. Everything was excellent, but the amatriciana was the standout--rich, savory, and unforgettable. The cacio e pepe was silky, the burrata fresh and creamy, the pork chops juicy, and the fried artichokes perfectly crisp. There's a reason people line up for Da Enzo. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere lively, and the hospitality remarkable. Without question, this was our best meal in Rome and one of our most memorable restaurant experiences.

The tomatoes were fresh and juicy but the burrata was a bit thick (referring to the outer aspect). Also the bread was a bit tough. The amatriciana was good, but not worth a 2 hour wait in a line, 7.5/10. Pasta was perfectly al dente, but the sauce wasn't anything to die for. I think you can get a very similar possibly better pasta in Rome without the wait. My girlfriend got the gnocchi pasta, which she said was a 7/10. The gnocchi was great, but again the sauce wasn't anything special Tiramisu, 10/10. This was amazing. It was sweet without being overpowering. The ladyfingers weren't soggy, and had that strong espresso taste. I would come back here just for this dessert. Also if you don't like cramped spaces, probably not the best spot. I could hear the people next to me better than I could hear the person across me haha.

Super pizza place with a lot of other great stuff on the menu…read more I looked with envy at the other tables who were enjoying spectacular plates of spaghetti with mussels. * * * That said, my pizza was a grand slam home run. Many of their pizzas are quite elaborate With all sorts of exotic ingredients. I went super simple. Gorgonzola. Mozzarella. That's it. Just enough Mozzarella to cut the Gorgonzola and make for a good melt. * * * If you have never had a gorgonzola pizza, you have never lived. Just sayin'. * * * P.S. My lovely wife got a Norwegian salmon pizza. The Norwegian salmon was stacked up high on her pizza As if she was in the World Series of Poker and she was a big winner. I have never seen so much salmon on one plate. After our meal, I made a discreet phone call to the Norwegian embassy in Rome asking them if they still had any salmon left. The woman at the embassy assured me the Norwegian salmon supply was fine. That surprises me given all the salmon that was on my wife's pizza.

Being new to Rome, and having walked 20k steps on our first day, there are an abundance of options a for dining. We wanted something classically Rome nearby to our hotel. The Yelp review of this restaurant was sufficiently positive to entice us. Being American, we appreciate the earlier-than-customary dining options. We arrived at 6pm without a reservation. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is intimate and very well staffed. The wood fire oven is front-and-center and the fresh mozzarella is prominent in display. We ordered a bottle of wine ... all options are very fairly priced. This is nice. We started with a Greek salad to share. It was unlike any American Greek salad ... and a really delight. It is early June but the tomatoes and peppers were ripe and crisp and really fresh. My wife ordered the Marguerite pizza; I opted for the Gorgonzola pizza (the effusive review on Yelp was compelling). Both were solid. We appreciate the thin crust and the crisp edged. The center of both, however, was doughy and somewhat undercooked. Looking around ... the restaurant was over 50% full even at this early hour. Most were Americans. We saw a good number of diners with pasta dishes ... and none were left unfinished. Sadly, we don't have any comparisons to weigh (yet). So, I cannot affirm any "best of" citations, it this is certainly a solid trattoria/pizzeria. The staff are attentive and the food served hot and fresh.
