The place is small... No frills but just outside the restaurant there were tons of stickers showing their accolades for the food they serve so that was a good sign. Another good sign is the long waiting list of folks trying get a table for dinner after 9.45 pm on a Sunday night. The menu isn't long and they had a tasting menu so I opted for that. You can choose either meat or seafood with the tasting menu and you get three courses plus dessert for just €28! The first course I chose was this hake dish marinated in vinegar with carrots and onions. It was ok not amazing... If you're squirmish and don't want to eat small fish with their head on this is not the dish for you lol. The next dish is a cuttlefish and artichoke risotto. This place is known for its risotto and boy it was amazing. Never knew risotto was suppose to be cooked where each grain has a bite and not mushy.the delicate flavour of the cuttlefish and artichoke worked so well and the dish was perfectly seasoned. The dish was creamy and I found myself scraping for the last pieces of risotto on the dish! I want more! Lol. The third dish I got was grilled octopus. The dish seemed like it straight up came from the sea with the long tentacle of the octopus. The octopus was tender and have the taste of the sea... Went really well with the sun dried tomatoes. I was amazed of the beautiful colour and the texture... So tender. If you like seafood this will quench your thirst for it. It also went well with the prosecco I ordered. If you're not into seafood, stir clear from this because it is straight up a seafood type of dish... and it'll taste like meat marinated in sea water. For dessert since it was my first night back in Italy I hard to give homage to the tiramisu. The tiramisu was light and fluffy... Not too sweet... Not too much coffee flavour, perfectly balanced. As much as I enjoyed it, being the fourth dish ... I was stuffed! It's a good reminder for me when I make tiramisu that it shouldn't be too sweet and delicate and flavoured lightly by coffee. The staff were really nice and attended me well, they are pretty on point and have a great system working. I'd recommend making reservations if you can cause this place get busy! Overall the experience was good and the wait was worth it for this restaurant. Good value for the money and gave me a good experience on how it is like eating like a local in Milan.

We got two dishes (Milanese veal cutlet and tripe), a dessert (sbrisolona), and lunch for the next day (Osso Bucco), all for under 50 euros. The Milanese veal cutlet tastes like your typical fried meat cutlets but man is it a long piece of meat. The tripe was good and mixed in a tomato-like soup base. I would be cautious with that one if you don't like organ meats although my wife enjoyed it and she isn't a big fan of organ meats. Sbrisolona reminds me of a flaky almond cookie. Our waiter was very pleasant, fast, and accommodating towards us. Inside looks like a small diner. Would love to come here again just because they made me feel at home as I was eating.

A basket of breads and a bowl of olives were served to us by our waiter, Fabio. I asked his recommendation for a nice red wine that was smooth. He chose a delicious wine, perfect for the main dish beef I planned to order. My husband ordered a wonderful fizzy water that we hope we can find at home. I am celiac, so no bread for me. However, my husband said the pillowy focaccia was his favorite out of the selections in the basket. Let me tell you about the olives: they were the best green olives I have ever had, popping with garlic flavor, and their texture was perfect. They tasted home-made to me! We started the meal with a selection of cheeses which came with a pot of honey and a pot of a caramelized red onion-reduced in red wine and sweetened with a little sugar. The onion condiment was divine. It was best when topped on the truffle cheese. Main courses arrived later. My steak fillet was the softest beef I have ever eaten. In fact, it was truly the best steak I have ever eaten. Cooked to perfection! My husband ordered the sea bass and grilled veggies. We split the veggies. For dessert my husband selected a flan-like dessert that was smooth and silky while I chose a green apple sorbet that had a French Norman brandy (Calvados) on top. The menu is actually not strictly Milanese, they have items that belong to other regional traditions like sciatt or polenta taragna, fried cheese balls and cheese polenta from Valtellina. We didn't complain about this discrepancy, we actually enjoyed both dishes even if not traditional from Milan. Then we got risotto alla milanese con ossobuco, the symbol of Milanese cuisine, and it was really really good. The risotto was creamy, buttery and delicious, the ossobuco "melt in your mouth" tender and with a lot of delicious bone marrow in the bone. Fantastic. Risotto ai funghi porcini freschi was very good too. The tagliatelle al ragù di cinghiale (boar) were very good, but the tagliatelle were a bit too tough, which is very strange for fresh pasta. It felt like the fresh pasta was left to dry out and then it was not cooked enough to rehydrate it. Whatever, the ragù was delicious. Finally the mondeghili, typical Milanese fried meat balls, although delicious, were not authentic, at least according to the expert in the group. For a Friday night, it was not very crowded but would not have ever walked by this place had it not been planned. This place focuses on their risottos, so much so that at the end of your meal they give you a small booklet of their risotto recipes as a gift! Each risotto takes 25 minutes to make and requires you to order a minimum of two portions per risotto (bring a friend!). The appetizer was top notch - it was all vegetarian and had great flavors and textures. The star of the show however was the risotto. I could smell the red wine in the risotto (as well as see it), and it made the flavor of the dish so rich. The sausage was a great addition to the dish as well. Ended the night with some espresso; I'm not an expert on this but it tasted solid to me. Service was great as well; it was a very intimate experience since there were only three tables being served total while I was there, and they closed up the restaurant after I left. The amount of tables served definitely is not indicative of how good the food is! If you're looking for a wide selection of great risotto, this is a great place to go!

We went on what was clearly a packed night, and there should've been no way we would get a table. The staff however told us that if we were willing to wait outside for half an hour or so, they should be able to squeeze us in. The area is nice, so we took a short walk and came back, where we were promptly thanked for your waiting and given a table. The first thing the waiters will tell you is that if you would like to order risotto, there's uusally a 25 minute wait time, as they make it fresh to order. The second thing they'll tell you is that you should really try the risotto. So we did. We ordered the risotto Milanese with ossobucco, and the cassouella to nibble on while we waited for the risotto. Cassouella is a typical northern Italian cabbage stew that's usually eaten in wintertime. This one included sausage and veal as well, both of which were extremely tender. I'd tried this dish before, but something about the way this restaurant made it, made the flavors just blend so well together. The Risotto and Ossobucco were phenomenal. The risotto itself was just so much more flavorful than you'd expect a risotto to be, but combined with the juices from the Ossobucco it was on a completely different level. The Ossobucco itself was perfect. It wasn't too tender, and had just enough of a chew to it to counteract the soft texture of the risotto. To top everything off, the owner came by at the end of our meal, and handed us a small 5 page recipe pamphlet. He said that he gives them away in case anyone wants to try making his risotto at home. What a wonderful experience
