I think the best thing that we ate was probably the chocolate salami as it's this fudgy biscuit with whipped cream on the side. They came quickly along with a lovely bread. The Chianti was a lovely house wine and paired well with the ravioli. While the ravioli portion wasn't large, they were wonderful! There was no rush to get us out even though we did not order dessert. We have no idea when we might be back to Milan. However, having been treated like good friends, we would surely want to return to this GEM of a restaurant.

We didn't want to have the kitchen open back up for us if they were already wrapping up. They assured us the kitchen wouldn't be closed for another 15 minutes so to come on in. We ordered the pizza, and the pizza guy had a meltdown. Apparently he had already started cleaning up for the night. We felt bad but also a little off putting that he would make such a scene in front of all the guests. Other than that we had a wonderful meal.

The risotto was perfectly cooked, very creamy with an abundance of fresh mushrooms. We topped with a drizzle of the spicy olive oil. And man that's got a bite! So good. For dinner I had the meat lasagna and my husband had a pasta with sausage. Both were very good. Mine was a large serving, filled with delicious pasta, cheese and sauce. My husband had a smaller pasta noodle, and the sauce was different than the red sauce on my lasagna. It was delicious!! We enjoyed our meals. And we even were able to purchase a jar of the spicy olive oil! Service was very friendly and attentive. If we make it back to Milan, we will come back.

The restaurant is on a side street near the busy (with tourists from every corner of the globe) Duomo area. It is easy to find. It has a charming decor (though it is a bit darker and more romantically appointed than other area restaurants, as well as having an underground and almost bordello vibe). It is also larger than it might appear, as there are both ground floor, as well as a lower eating area seemingly for larger groups, as well as used during busier times. We have only eaten on the ground floor level. The menu offers ample variety, but is not what one would term extensive. It tends upscale, though not extremely costly (arguably average to slightly above average fine restaurant prices), but portions are on the smaller side. They have a specialty in dishes augmented and emphasizing the use of truffles, of which we have sampled several times. Over the course of our several meals we've had every pasta and risotto offered with truffle shavings. Of the appetizers we can recommend the meatballs, which are delicate and small, the bacon wrapped shrimp, and the octopus. Their desserts are also not the run of the mill and warrant tastings. All and all, we will always repeat here when in Milan. Frankly, though their Yelp average score is pretty good, we were surprised they do not have a higher Yelp average score.

The bread and chilli oil starter was fresh and tasty and was an incredible preview of the dishes that were to come. We started off with vegetarian pizza which was incredible...having had pizza so often during our trip we were blown away by how delicious this vegetarian pizza was. And just when we thought nothing could top the pizza out came another incredible dish - a mushroom and zucchini risotto. Each dish was a marvel and yet again the owner/chef presented us with another outstanding dish - pear and cheese ravioli with poppy seeds. Each dish danced on our taste buds sending waves of euphoric delight. We ended the meal with tiramisu and coffee - which we agreed was the best we ever had. The authenticity and sincerity of the owners/chefs shines through their food. They really put their heart into each dish. The owner was kind and stopped by to create some banter. Thank you thank you thank you to the owners for making this culinary excursion a memory we will forever cherish not only of our time in Milan but our entire stay in Europe!
