There's free valet here but I'd bring cash to tip the valet personnel. It was a nice touch considering their parking lot is small and full. The interior of this place is incredibly beautiful and so inviting. I sat at the bar and saw many items on the menu that looked so good. I was in the mood for seafood and really wanted their zuppa di pesce but didn't want a whole portion because I know I wouldn't be able to finish it. The bartender told me that I could order a half order which was incredibly exciting. I checked out the rest of the venue and the outdoor area in the back which was kind of magical. I tried a few mocktails, they were good, the coconut one was best. The dish I ordered was delicious, as well as the bread served with olive oil that had roasted garlic in it. The ambiance is still very nice. We went on a Monday evening so it wasn't very loud, but I can see how it could get so because we had a table of very loud women next to us. Can't imagine if we multiplied that by any additional tables. I just want to bring up the bread. Such a wasted opportunity to serve something so inexpensive that has such an impact on the overall experience. The bread is bafflingly bad. It's dry, and hard and tastes like nothing. The garlic infused oil that should improve the old stale bread is served with the hard skin still on the garlic. That's not edible and it's also not easy to remove once it's all mixed together. A small complaint about the lasagna. It's mostly cheese and very difficult to find any pasta among the soupy cheese and tomatoes. The taste is good but it's a bit of a rip off to serve something like lasagna with one or maybe two layers. The chicken parm was still delicious as was the polenta appetizer. Service was friendly and prompt. If they could just fix the bread and garlic situation and maybe bulk up the lasagna with some noodles, we'd be back. read more

I need to be sad as they discontinued the Annabella but haven't removed it from the vine list. The first time having this food was by uber eats but I just wanted to stop by today and it was even better in person. The customer service, the food the atmosphere was all amazing. Even though it was a drive away from where I live it is so worth and I felt so attended to from the moment I walked in the door to when I left. I'm stuffed and excited for when I come back. Indulged in a fabulous meal here! Don't let the parking situation get in your way - the parking lot is frequently full but they offer free valet service. Our server provided great recommendations and was super attentive. The inside is cozy and decorated nicely for the holidays. The bread you start with comes with fresh garlic soaked olive oil just is a unique and delicious touch. I tried one of the cocktail specials which was a blood orange cosmo. It was strong with a balance of sweet and tart. For entrees, we tried the Cavatelli Aldo Moro and Rigatoni Carbonara. All the pasta is made fresh daily and tasted incredible - would highly recommend trying both! We finished our meal with chocolate lava cake which was rich but not overly sweet. Our family tried Osteria Romana for the 1st time in Monroe on Easter Sunday. A challenging time to be first trying a restaurant. There were little things here and there that kept this from being a 5 star experience. When we arrived the parking lot was filled. There was a valet but we were skeptical because I did not notice the guy had a sign, pin, or jacket stating he was the valet. Luckily it was legit. When I checked in early they were of course not ready for us. I asked would they come out and call us once our table was ready? I was told No and to keep checking back. I kind of felt like since there was no where to wait inside. They should have at least come got us when our table was ready. Our reservation was for 7 people @ 4pm and our table was ready at 4:15pm. It's fine it was Easter and they were busy. At one point our waiter left, and it took a bit before a new waiter came over. All the staff we encountered were very friendly. For appetizers my husband had the octopus salad, I got the mini meatballs. My husband was skeptical about the grilled lettuce but actually enjoyed it. The mini meatballs came in a cute bowl with a nice added touch of a wooden spoon and was really good. Our main courses were seafood risotto for him and prosecco chicken for me. He ate every last bite of his seafood. I tasted his risotto which was cooked nicely. The sauce for my chicken made my chicken cutlets not crispy but it had nice flavor. Desserts: Chocolate Lava cake with ice cream and pistachio cheesecake. Both heavenly and sweet (but not too sweet). Wish we were offered coffee or cappuccino. The worst food I've ever experienced in CT. If you don't know good food then I'm sure you'll like this place. Came here for Mother's Day brunch and it was a shit show. Long waiting times since they don't space out the reservations long enough. Waited 15 minutes to be seated for our 2 pm reservation. Finally was sat, filled out what we wanted. I ordered the French toast and the saddest looking single piece of whit bread came out. The omelette came out for my dad and it was paper thin, dry and overcooked. A manager came over asking how things were and I told him how bad the food was for $48 per person which was an absolute joke. He then proceeded to give me a better French toast piece which was nice but I will never go back here. The line for the buffet was so long and wrapped around near tables which was a mess. I attended a shower on the back covered patio area Osteria Romana last month and was totally impressed by the abundance of flavorful food, classy service, and intimate ambiance. There was a five course meal including appetizers, salad, pasta, a selection between 3 entrees, and dessert (including coffee and tea). There were multiple trays of appetizers and desserts per table so there was more than enough per each guest. I selected to eat the stuffed chicken which was outrageous. Me and my boyfriend's first time. We surely enjoyed our meal. Staff was so friendly and service was amazing as well. Our sever was Fernando, he was so accommodating and so so friendly. So we've been here a month ago. Just by chance we drove by headed for another place in Trumbull. I commented that the place looked nice from the outside. Then a half mile down the road we said heck let's try that place.turned around and we're glad we did! So we are BACK! Adrian comes right over to say hello and take our drink order. Sad I love this restaurant but it has gone way down. The quality of food tonight was rough we had the chicken rustico and chicken processco and both tasted like Chinese food away and sour sauce. I've tried many things on the menu, but my favorite is to get the ravioli pantera rosa but with fettuccine instead and with crispy chicken. That sauce is so creamy but has such a nice glaze to it. I ordered the salmon special. I was never asked how I would like my salmon cooked. Marketplace - a lower cost, chain establishment, where I did not expect to be asked this question, asked it of me. I expect better here. Hence, it was overcooked and tasteless, surrounded by potatoes and vegetables that while fresh enough, were equally tasteless. There was nothing "special" about this special. The meatballs tasted like Chef Boyardee. I was not expecting anything stupendous but given the prices and ambiance, I was expecting a step above places like Marketplace. We each got an "Insalata Cesare" salad which was excellent - lots of shaved cheese, perfect amount of croutons, crispy lettuce and the dressing was very flavorful. I got the Fettuccine Bolognese and my wife ordered on of the specials - Porcini Risotto with shrimp. Both were incredible. I would have plated a little bit differently the risotto dish, I feel like the risotto was a very generous portion, but I would have preferred to see the rice being a cup size on the side of my plate and then the delicious seafood on top of it or right in the center. Lightly battered calamari with a Diablo dipping sauce. Cavatelli with sausage and broccoli perfectly mixed for complete bites. The paparedell in a chunky and flavorful ragu was filling and like the cavatelli came to the table steaming hot, which means it came straight from the stove to the table. I fell in love with this restaurant. Not only was the presentation beautiful but the food was just as good. It may be a little pricey to some but I think it's well worth it for the quality of food you are being served. The risotto was cooked perfectly and I was able to ask for shrimp to go with it. The restaurant is kept really clean and has a very romantic vibe in the evening which makes for a perfect date night. Service was great and the staff were super kind. I've had this place bookmarked for quite sometime and I am glad I finally decided to give them a try. We tried them on an early Saturday afternoon and were lucky to be able to get in without a reservation. The servers were quick to take care of us and offer great suggestions from the menu. The restaurant offers several areas to dine in, the regular dining room, bar area and two outside dining area. For my meal I had the steak special which was phenomenal, it was served over mushroom, peppers and cheese. The sides were mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe. The steak was cooked perfectly and the mushroom, pepper and cheese combination was so good. I could not get enough. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and the broccoli rabe was perfect. My girlfriend had the veal which was served with potatoes, carrots, broccoli and lots of mushrooms. She loved her meal. The serving was large enough for lunch on the next day. The meal was going so well that we decided to have dessert, I had the affogato and my girlfriend had the Apple tart. We both loved our desserts. I tried the lasagna. Can't go wrong with lasagna right. It was absolute lava. In a dish that held heat very well. Took about 20 minutes to cool down.
