Very impressed with the food at this restaurant. My 3 kids and I enjoyed a great lunch here. I had the Brazilian steak and cheese. It was very good and the Portuguese roll added a nice difference compared to the typical "grinder" this would be served on at other restaurants. One of my kids had the Brazilian fried rice and really enjoyed that. My second child had the Carbonara which was excellent (I tried it as well). I had a wonderful meal here tonight. This is a Brazilian restaurant. I enjoyed the art work on the walls that paid tribute to Brazilian culture. The decor was black, gold and white. It felt chic with black linens and tea ligt candles on each table. They had light music playing. I truly enjoyed the ambiance. The bar manager and the bartender were extremely attentive. Introducing themselves and checking on us often. We had the Pastel which are empanadas. We tried the beef, chicken with cheese and cheese only. My favorite was the beef along with the tasty srichacha mayo sauce it came with. We also had the steak tacos. The meat was scrumptious. The bar manager suggested the Strawberry Passionfruit Mojito which was divine. Finally, we had the flan for dessert. It was so creamy and delectable. Came here for happy hour and it was a great experience. They only have a few options for food but everything we got was delicious. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. What a pleasant dining experience. In speaking with the waiter he says this establishment has been opened for about 3 months or so. The restaurant has a bar area with a separate dining area. For starters we had the beef and chicken empanadas which were really good. We Alex for some hour sauce which seemed to be homemade and it was perfectly spicy and tasty. For my entree I had the ribs with yucca fries and my girlfriend had the chicken sandwich. Both of or meals were so flavorful and good. Reality: I got an immersive experience in disappointment with a side of chaos. The Warm-Up (a.k.a. Appetizers & Awkwardness) We started strong with questions about the menu. Unfortunately, our waitress: * Hadn't tried most of the dishes. * Didn't know what was in them. * Made at least five trips to the kitchen to figure out if something had dairy. Bonus round: She didn't speak Portuguese (at a Brazilian place) and had zero clue what "Caipirinha" or "Guaraná" were. Spoiler: Two of Brazil's most famous drinks. She also did not know if they served it, so, another trip for questions. Apps arrive: * Pastel and Coxinha: Passable. * Codfish croquettes: Cod must've taken the night off--these were pure potato in disguise. The Main Course (a.k.a. Hunger Games) We ordered: * 2 steak tips, * 1 beef stroganoff, * 2 Escondidinhos (Brazilian shepherd's pie with dried beef). What actually happened: * Only one lonely steak tips shows up. * Twenty minutes later: "Oops, we're out of the Escondidinhos." Great. * Two people reorder (One Chicken Stroganoff & one Chicken Parm). * Another 15-minute intermission: Beef Stroganoff arrives--watery sauce, meat scraps from who-knows-where, and enough salt to start a preservation business. Did not even resemble a Brazilian Strogonoff. Friend ate two bites and quit. When the two "escondidinhos" replacements appear: * CHICKEN Stroganoff magically became a BEEF Stroganoff! My friend keeps it because, let's face it, waiting another hour wasn't in the cards. Utensil Situation: My friend's cutlery was taken away. Replacement? None. She ends up eating with a serving spoon like a pioneer in a survival movie. To compensate the ordered Chicken Stroganoff--now Beef Stroganoff friend had her cutlery, but not the serving spoon for the watery dish. they had to keep on sharing it. Meanwhile, on my Birthday Plate... * This Birthday girl's steak tips? Never appeared. * End scene: Waitress finally asks, "Do you still want it?" after everyone finished eating. Apparently, she and the cook had a kitchen brawl over whether it was served. At this point, I said, "Forget it." Birthday feast conclusion: Drove home and ate cold leftovers from the fridge. I've been here a few times since they've opened and I keep coming back, especially now that they've rolled out their new menu. It's definitely a big upgrade from before! The menu is simple yet offers a great variety of options, catering to all types of taste buds. Small but specialized "authentic" Brazilian menu; fair pricing; good sized portions; well priced phenomenal Caipirinha's and a very nice atmosphere! The only negative was that our server only spoke Portuguese (thumbs up to the authenticity I suppose, hahaha!). Seriously though, due to the miscommunication, my partner and I wound up splitting our main dish when in-fact we had wanted two. We tried to ask a question about the serving size which ultimately added apparent confusion. Minus this, which was fine due to the plentiful appetizers (Brazilian cheese balls & calamari), we didn't complain. Still 5-star! I went to Cana to just watch the game and chill. As I got there Amanda greeted me with the biggest smile! She was absolutely amazing! She was friendly, attentive, and made some of the best drinks I've ever had. You can tell she really cares about her guests and loves what she does. Highly recommend asking for Amanda when you visit. The food was really overpriced for what it was. The pork belly was overcooked, chicken was really just cut up random pieces both with and without bones. Both were served with plain mayo and mayo-ketchup dipping sauces - how uninspiring. I got a filet mignon dish and should have asked when they didn't ask me what temperature on the steak. I must say the atmosphere was pleasantly relaxing and the service was exceptional; the food was truly the pièce de résistance, divine. This is the second time we've been there, first was amazing. Food was great and service was awesome. Was so excited to come back. We tonight we came back and it was great. Was watching the yankees game. And i went to the bathroom and i came back and we were asked to leave. Cause a private party was coming in. Were we there for over an hour and not once this was mentioned . I would understand if they told when we came in. 3 mins before we had to leave.
