    Tap list summer 2024

Came here for a double date not long after they opened, and it was a nice experience! We sat on the patio which was decorated nicely but was unfortunately loud with the 101 and train tracks close by. Our server was friendly and knew the menu pretty well. We ordered garlic focaccia to share, the prosciutto e ruccola pizza, the calabrese pizza, the gnocchi alla sorrentina, and the aglio olio peperoncino pasta. All were decent tasting! The pizzas were a good size. They were out of a lot of the tap list, which was a bummer but we found other drinks to order. Overall with the abundance of other Italian restaurants in the area, I'm not sure I'll be back. But I'm glad I tried it!

We were looking for a restaurant in the area and wanted to go local, so we found this through Yelp. We absolutely loved everything we ordered! I thought the hostess and our waiter were both super friendly. We did the trio gnocchi which I'd recommend doing. I was obsessed with the Gorgonzola cream sauce. We also enjoyed the chicken saltimbocca. The margarita pizza was good and a unique experience with the burrata being cut and spread table side, but I could probably go without this next time. They are also pet friendly on the outdoor patio!

Wow this place is a hidden gem it was soo good!! Service was excellent. Food was so fresh and very tasty!

MAKE THE RESERVATION. Discovered Osteria Tavi during Taste of Leucadia and was instantly intrigued. We had to return for dinner! This is definitely authentic Italian food done right. The service was flawless. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and just a pleasure. The chef made a personal appearance at our table, which we found delightful. The homemade pasta noodles were exceptional, and the halibut special was so delicious and perfectly cooked. And let's talk about the Tiramisu--it was hands down the best I've ever tasted! The ambiance is charming, with adorable decor and a wonderful vibe. Generous portions too. I definitely recommend it for your next brunch or special dinner outing. Plus we got a parking spot right out front, a rarity in Leucadia!

I think I have eaten at most restaurants in Encinitas and the food at Osteria Tavi was definitely one of my favorites. The presentation is lovely We had a great server who was patient and attentive. It is honestly surprising to me that that it wasn't packed Apparently not enough people know about this restaurant. Take my advice- go! You won't regret it

The experience was fantastic from start to finish. Sonia was responsive over email and accommodated several changes in a timely manner, despite also pulling double duty as the on-site manager and server at our event. On the day of the event, the team arrived on time and was incredibly helpful and positive, even while navigating a tricky setup and getting their mobile oven parked in a very specific location. Most importantly, the food was incredible. We served artichokes, meatballs, prosciutto and tomato bruschetta, along with the Regina, Augusta, and Sergio pizzas. Everything was terrific. The food was so good that the chef received a spontaneous round of applause from our guests! I couldn't have asked for a better catering experience. Good communication, a wonderful attitude, and truly exceptional food. Highly recommended.

Buona Forchetta came highly recommended by a friend who raves about their pizzas. After trying it…read moremyself, I'd rate it closer to a 3.5 out of 5. It's a solid neighborhood restaurant, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. We ordered two pizzas: a gluten-free Margherita and a regular Margherita. One thing that immediately stood out was how similar the two crusts tasted. Both had a comparable level of chewiness, which was surprising given that one was gluten-free. The gluten-free crust lacked some of the wheaty, earthy flavor you'd expect from a traditional dough, but overall I was genuinely impressed by its texture and quality. It's one of the better gluten-free pizza crusts I've had. The pizzas are Neapolitan-style and generally enjoyable. The dough itself is well made, though I would have preferred a bit more chew and structure to take it to the next level. My biggest criticisms are the sauce and cheese. The sauce was applied too sparingly, leaving the pizza without enough moisture or cohesion to tie the different components together. More importantly, the flavor felt one-dimensional--mostly salty, without the rich tomato sweetness, depth, and complexity that make a great Neapolitan pizza memorable. But I want to be fair. Judging from the photos posted by other Yelpers, some of the pizzas shown have a good amount of pizza sauce. I need to try the food again and update my review. As for the cheese, the fresh mozzarella on the Margherita didn't quite meet expectations. The slices had a firmer texture than I typically associate with fresh mozzarella and lacked some of the soft, creamy moisture that helps create that signature melt. The flavor was also milder than expected; instead of delivering a pronounced milky richness, it tasted somewhat diluted. This may be a minor criticism, but on a simple pizza like a Margherita, where every ingredient is on display, these details become much more noticeable. Overall, Buona Forchetta serves a respectable Neapolitan-style pizza, and its gluten-free option is particularly impressive. However, the underwhelming sauce and mozzarella kept the pizzas from reaching the level I was expecting given the enthusiastic recommendations.

They're nestled in a saffron cream sauce that glows a deep golden orange and is slightly aromatic. The tomatoes add just enough acidity to brighten each bite. This family-run restaurant has been around since 2000, with a cozy and romantic interior that feels like a true trattoria but I always choose to sit outside to soak in that incredible Cali weather most of the year. Great service, good food, great atmosphere…read more About two hours before we wanted to get dinner on a Friday night, we went online to see if a reservation was available, but the only options were immediately or hours later than what we wanted. We called and asked if we could walk in and they said they would hold a table for us in the back patio, and if a table opened up in the front they would seat us there. We got there about 10 minutes early and nothing up front was available so we got seated in the back patio. They said they would move us up if a table left soon. Thankfully, about five minutes later, we were able to relocate. No joke, that back patio is depressing if you see how bright the front room/patio is. I'm very thankful for our good luck. The food was great, and service was pretty attentive. Interestingly they serve different types of complimentary bread -- what you get is pretty much random. The shrimp barca appetizer was quite good. We got a bunch of pastas and the standouts were the pomodoro and vongole. The sangria was also pretty good. My daughter said she prefers this place to Piatti in La Jolla, which is a tradition for us whenever we visit. So they definitely want to return here when we come back.
