    Tap list summer 2024
    Savanna V.

Came here for a double date not long after they opened, and it was a nice experience! We sat on the patio which was decorated nicely but was unfortunately loud with the 101 and train tracks close by. Our server was friendly and knew the menu pretty well. We ordered garlic focaccia to share, the prosciutto e ruccola pizza, the calabrese pizza, the gnocchi alla sorrentina, and the aglio olio peperoncino pasta. All were decent tasting! The pizzas were a good size. They were out of a lot of the tap list, which was a bummer but we found other drinks to order. Overall with the abundance of other Italian restaurants in the area, I'm not sure I'll be back. But I'm glad I tried it!

We were looking for a restaurant in the area and wanted to go local, so we found this through Yelp. We absolutely loved everything we ordered! I thought the hostess and our waiter were both super friendly. We did the trio gnocchi which I'd recommend doing. I was obsessed with the Gorgonzola cream sauce. We also enjoyed the chicken saltimbocca. The margarita pizza was good and a unique experience with the burrata being cut and spread table side, but I could probably go without this next time. They are also pet friendly on the outdoor patio!

Wow this place is a hidden gem it was soo good!! Service was excellent. Food was so fresh and very tasty!

This place was amazing. The service and the food was good. So fresh! It's kinda hidden but glad I found this place to celebrate my sister birthday

MAKE THE RESERVATION. Discovered Osteria Tavi during Taste of Leucadia and was instantly intrigued. We had to return for dinner! This is definitely authentic Italian food done right. The service was flawless. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and just a pleasure. The chef made a personal appearance at our table, which we found delightful. The homemade pasta noodles were exceptional, and the halibut special was so delicious and perfectly cooked. And let's talk about the Tiramisu--it was hands down the best I've ever tasted! The ambiance is charming, with adorable decor and a wonderful vibe. Generous portions too. I definitely recommend it for your next brunch or special dinner outing. Plus we got a parking spot right out front, a rarity in Leucadia!

I think I have eaten at most restaurants in Encinitas and the food at Osteria Tavi was definitely one of my favorites. The presentation is lovely We had a great server who was patient and attentive. It is honestly surprising to me that that it wasn't packed Apparently not enough people know about this restaurant. Take my advice- go! You won't regret it

Great service and yummy food! The wine list needs some improvement. If there were more Italian wines it would be 5 stars.

Great service, good food, great atmosphere…read more About two hours before we wanted to get dinner on a Friday night, we went online to see if a reservation was available, but the only options were immediately or hours later than what we wanted. We called and asked if we could walk in and they said they would hold a table for us in the back patio, and if a table opened up in the front they would seat us there. We got there about 10 minutes early and nothing up front was available so we got seated in the back patio. They said they would move us up if a table left soon. Thankfully, about five minutes later, we were able to relocate. No joke, that back patio is depressing if you see how bright the front room/patio is. I'm very thankful for our good luck. The food was great, and service was pretty attentive. Interestingly they serve different types of complimentary bread -- what you get is pretty much random. The shrimp barca appetizer was quite good. We got a bunch of pastas and the standouts were the pomodoro and vongole. The sangria was also pretty good. My daughter said she prefers this place to Piatti in La Jolla, which is a tradition for us whenever we visit. So they definitely want to return here when we come back. I'll have to remember to book a reservation early.

From the moment we arrived, the experience was wonderful. The service was impeccable, and we were made to feel like longtime regulars. Everyone, from the owners to the waitstaff, was incredibly attentive, welcoming, and kind. Of course, the true star of the evening was the food. My son ordered the Chicken Alfredo, while I enjoyed the salmon with penne, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. We started with a Caesar salad featuring a wonderful homemade dressing, and when it came time for dessert, we simply couldn't choose just one! The cannoli, filled with homemade ricotta, was exceptional, and the homemade tiramisu was the perfect ending to our meal. The entire experience made us feel as though we had been transported back to Boston for an evening of dining in the North End. We cannot wait to return and try more of the menu. Based on our experience, I have a feeling you can't go wrong with anything you order. Thank you to everyone at Alice's for your wonderful hospitality and for making our Friday night so memorable!

We chose to dine outside, in their covered patio, where we enjoyed glasses of wine and, the following: - Garlic Bread ($7.95) - served with a delicious, chunky marinara sauce (loved it!); - Penne Puttanesca ($22.25) - I enjoyed the texture of the pasta; however, the sauce was overly tangy for my preference; - Penne Prosciutto Funghi ($22.50) - hubby absolutely loved his dish; full of flavors and textures -- comfort-food worthy (I'd initially considered ordering this dish)! Great find, and one we'd look forward to returning to when in this area.

Also had the gambas (shrimp) and my feeling is this dish tastes the same no matter where you get it. It's spicy oil but there's no flavor (garlic, salt), just spicy oil lightly flavored by the shrimp but nothing special, imho, that you couldn't make at home or get anywhere else. Also had the migas y setas (mushroom with egg), it was good but the mushrooms themselves needed salt. The bread crumb bits had salt but it wasn't enough. Mushrooms, eggs and pita toes are three foods that need salt, period. I would definitely eat here again, the food was good, service was good, the vibe and ambiance was good. Great for a date night or just dinner with friends. Not really recommended for people with little kids (although they don't discriminate, it's just not that kind of place).

They were busy on a Monday evening, and they're only open from 5-9 PM daily. The food was fantastic, and so was the setting. It has a cozy yet sophisticated vibe. Think of going to your friend's home who has great taste in décor, with a twist of flair. The warm amber lighting really sets a comfortable tone. For dinner, we ordered the following: Sashimi Mediterráneo: Melt in your mouth delicious. Chicken Paillard: Perfectly lemony and beautifully roasted. The salad was fresh and paired really well with the chicken. I loved the blistered capers. They went great with both the sashimi and the chicken. Dessert: Basque Cake: A soft, multi textured, biscuity French Spanish cake with vanilla pastry cream and sweet cherries. The pastry cream is baked in perfectly. It has an almost creamy cheesecake like texture, and paired with the vanilla ice cream, it was amazing. My girlfriend and I just wished there was a little more ice cream. It would have balanced the dessert even better. I'm definitely coming here again and again! I want to try their Patatas Bravas, Paella & Kabocha Soup, but I also want to get what I've ordered. What a predicament.

Brought us everything we asked for quickly (extra ice, parm & red pepper flakes, drink refills, etc). I bought some pastries at the bakery next door & he stored them in the walk-in cooler as it was 94° outside. Our food was served quickly & the checks were processed quickly. The food! I got the chicken & sun dried tomato white pizza - excellent - and shared with a friend. My side salad was large enough to be an entree. Everyone at the table made yummy noises & agreed we would be back. It's a real test of a restaurant's skill to serve a large group, and Del Lusso passed with flying colors. We had reasonable wait times, received hot food, the server was top notch, and check processing was quick. The only issue was that on a 90°+ day the landlord refused to turn off the giant fire feature & nearly roasted us to death. Landlords do t care about customers & this guy was being a jerk just to be a jerk. Everything else far exceeded our expectations! I will be going again & our neighbors have already agreed that Del Lusso will be on our rotation for future dine out events.
