I came here recently last week and it was uncomfortable with a leak that kept splashing down by our booth. I'm not sure why they would seat us by there to be honest. I love this place! I came here before for a Yelp event before and loved it so we came back. I came here to celebrate my old boss retirement. I've had several things here. I've tried many of their bruschettas and their half paninis and soups. Everything is delicious! I love the sweet and savory combos for the bruschetta, they come up with fun ideas. Love the overall location of this restaurant. I had came on a Saturday afternoon for happy hour and it was fantastic. We had no reservation and were luckily seated immediately. We ordered their special collaboration dish with Grillo's hot pickle dip, and it was delicious. I don't normally gravitate towards pickle dishes, but this one was so good that we even ordered another one of it. We had also ordered the bruschetta boards, which was probably my favorite dish there. I love how you are able to choose 4 breads from a list of many different options. The outside patio was completely full and the bar had a number of people watching the World Cup. We were seated at a table inside and ordered the following: - Crispy cauliflower: this was the absolute winner for me. It was perfectly roasted. The romesco sauce and capers added a nice salty and umami profile. - Bruschetta board: we got the Brie/apple/fig, boquerones, warm artichoke spread, and prosciutto/fig/marscapone. I liked them all, but the artichoke spread was the standout. - Chef's charcuterie: standard, but nothing mind blowing. Service was excellent: as soon as we were seated by a giant open window, I felt a bit chilly. Even before I said anything, they asked us if we wanted it closed; very considerate. The host asked if I want inside or outside. I chose outside and picked a table for just me.. Iam aware of seating location for staff as I've been a server too and was aware I was being offered seating that was particular to a certain area. So my spot was near someone else. And this was apparently the same for the group of 3 teenagers and a parent right next to me some time after I had had a glass of wine plus two appetizers. We came here after doing a weekend morning class at Pigment and the food & drinks hit the spot! We walked right in, no wait- around noon in a Saturday. The patio was perfect shielded by the wall so we had perfect shade. We had to get the donut balls but remember they do take 10 minutes so give your server a heads up when you want them. When I made the reservation, I asked if it was possible to find a place that wouldn't be too close to the bar, as I didn't want the typical happy hour noise that might make it hard to hear one another. And they delivered! My business associate got there before I did and asked how I reserved such a prime spot! She was seated right next to the outdoor fireplace! We decided to take advantage of the $7 glasses of wine they offer until 5pm for happy hour and asked our server, for a suggestion on something to nibble on. She immediately went to the bruschetta board and said we could pick four different types to make up our board. Not only were they a delicious delight, but the fact that arrived pre-cut made dividing them up much easier! Our server treated us to a dessert - hot donut dots, which came with tasty dipping sauces. What a sweet treat, literally and figuratively! 2nd Visit - The next time I returned it was to join some family members who were there dining but because I had already eaten, I just joined them for a drink. The panini coast $16.25 plus tax. As a side, I ordered the seasonal potato soup. It was very well made and tasted delicious. I was certainly a fan of it. The service was very good. This is definitely more of a wine and apps place than a dining place so if you're looking for that you will enjoy Postino! Their happy hour is great for wine lovers in the sense that you can choose from any of their wines which is a nice change from most happy hours that only provide one red and one white option. They have a decently sized patio which is great for enjoying a beautiful afternoon with your wine and bites. I have had a few delicious apps here... specifically, the roasted mushroom fondue, the crispy cauliflower with an amazing romesco sauce and the grilled skewers but I have to say I am a bit confused by a couple of their decisions. 1) The mushroom fondue is delicious but they don't include enough crostini to finish the fondue and they charge for extra. A bit frustrating as everyone will need about three times the crostinis actually provided with this dish. 2) The hummus is either not salted at all or extremely under salted and bland. I've had this on a couple of different platters so I'm positive at this point this is just how they make it. 3) The grilled cheese and tomato soup used to be a normal size but the last time I ordered this the sandwich was so tiny, I'm not sure that you could actually call it a sandwich. They had $7 pitchers, and of course my boyfriend couldn't resist ordering one. It filled about two full glasses of beer, such a steal! We decided to share the bruschetta board, which comes with four pieces for $20. They had a great selection of flavors, and we ended up getting two of the smoked salmon & pesto, one tomato bacon, and one tomato mozzarella (a total classic!). Everything came out within 5-10 minutes, and the bruschetta was so good, the bread was perfectly crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. We were passing through the area when one of our friends unexpectedly became ill and had to be hospitalized, leaving us stuck there for the weekend. What was supposed to be a quick stop turned into such a great experience--largely because of Ellie--that we came back two days later for brunch after our friend was released.
