I was craving for waffles one day and came upon this restaurant on yelp. Even though it was a struggle finding this location because of nearby constructions, I was glad I found it. I had a pleasure of meeting the chef and owner of the restaurant. He is friendly and could tell he is passionate about his work and cooking. My server that day was also very nice and attentive. Their summer waffle was yummy and had a choice of bacon or sausage. I highly recommend this place! Don't give up on your drive if you have trouble finding their location. The food is good and I would go back here but a couple of things that threw me off was the fact they messed up on on one of our sides and then charged us for getting the correct side, so we paid extra for their mistake. They also asked what kind of salsa I wanted with the Chilaquiles to find out that they actually charged for the salsa, granted it was only .50 but I just felt like they were trying to get every penny possible from their customers. Everything about Otra Vez matched what I saw in pictures and I couldn't be more satisfied with my food & service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by welcoming staff members & seated immediately. The space here is very open, bright, and definitely sets an up mood tone. The menu isn't overwhelming (as pictured in my review). They had a selection of waffles, pancakes, omelettes, and a few other specialities. My friend ordered basic waffles which came with eggs & sausages, but they were generous to substitute sausages for a cup of fruit since she didn't eat meat. This is a good choice for breakfast or lunch. It's easy to miss as the last business on the south end of the strip mall with small signage. I would love to rate this establishment much higher since my wife and I love the concept and enjoy a few of the items off the menu but have to lower the rating due to the slow service in getting a table and slow timing in getting your meal. The last two times we've visited we've waited more than 30 minutes to get a table although all tables aren't full and waited approximately another 30 minutes to get our food. We were expecting a wait with it being Mother's Day. We walked in and weren't greeted or acknowledged by staff for a few minutes. We only knew what was going on because of the other people waiting who got someone to get or name on a list. There were no clear roles of anyone being a hostess they all were running around doing everything. When we asked about wait time they guessed around 30-40 minutes. We almost left as a reaction to the wait time but the people waiting ahead of us said it would likely only be 20 minutes. We were glad to have waited because the wait was around 15 minutes. From the time we ordered to the time we got our food it was 43 minutes. This would have been fine but our water was never refilled during that period of time, only when we got our food. The food was pretty good, regular portions, nothing crazy. I enjoyed the change in brunch food from the typical brunch place. I'd be willing to try this restaurant out again to see if wait times and our experience is any different. read more

We have ordered from here twice for takeout because of covid. The first time we got chilaquiles and a chicken and waffle. The chilaquiles were as good as they could be considering it was takeout - the chips were extremely soggy but flavor was good. The chicken was too thick, it was more like a huge chicken breast than anything fried. The waffle itself had good flavor but was very small in comparison to the thickness of the chicken breast. The second time was okay. We got huevos rancheros, eggs Benedict, and a strawberry waffle. The huevos were pretty good except eggs were overcooked to medium instead of over easy. But there's only so much you can do with takeout. The waffle was really good, but the whip cream that comes with it was about one teaspoon - not joking. You'll see the picture. The eggs Benedict were disappointing. The eggs were almost hard boiled. There was no way they were poached correctly but then solidified as we waited in the restaurant for the food to be cooked (so it wasn't waiting for us when we got there), and then the drive home was 10 minutes. I included a picture. Clearly the eggs were already way overcooked when they boxed everything up. It kind of defeats the purpose of eggs Benedict when the eggs are cooked to solid. In general they could box the takeout in a better way so the food didn't get soggy - I mean within 10 minutes it was all chewy and soggy so I think if they boxed things separately it could really help. We won't be back - the waffles are the best part but they are pretty small and the rest of everything didn't do well for takeout or was prepared incorrectly. read more

Once you eat here, you will want to come back again and again. Don't be fooled by first impressions. When you walk into Otra Vez, the atmosphere is minimal and a bit unwelcoming. The bright colors bring to mind a fast food restaurant. (Note to management: Some plants would really warm the place up.) While I appreciated that it looked immaculate (so important during these pandemic times) it didn't invite me in. But it was lunch time and we had hiked through a busy parking lot, all the way to the end of a funky little strip mall, and I was determined to try the food. I ordered the Chilaquiles and my husband ordered Huevos Rancheros. We had to a wait a bit for the food, just long enough to know that it was being prepared upon order and wasn't just sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The Chilaquiles were perfect. Crispy tortillas chips, softened with a spicy red sauce then topped with soft, flavorful, shredded chicken, perfectly cooked eggs (seriously, they were like pillows), the freshest cilantro I've had in ages, and a nice crumble of queso fresco. Every mouthful was the perfect combination of flavor and textures. My husband reports that the Huevos Rancheros were very good, although he did sneak a few bites of my Chilaquiles and said he thought I made the better choice. I moved here from Southern California five years ago and I haven't found good Mexican food locally until Otra Vez. My only complaint is they only serve brunch. I can only imagine what their interpretation of some of my other favorite Mexican dishes would taste like. read more

The potatoes are good too, nothing to brag about but a great side. The eggs can have more flavor. The burrito needs to have crisper bacon or take it out. Highly recommend! Visited for breakfast and was wowed with delicious food. I had the Golden pancakes which is brown sugar, banana, Carmel and walnuts pancake served with bacon, two eggs and potatoes! I had to ask the girl that was bussing the tables and she had an attitude about my inquiry. There were people that came in and had a larger group and they received their food before my group of 3. She finally came back and said oh they're working on your food now. We already waited 40 min! At that point I was clearly unhappy, and no attempt was made at all to try and make things right.
