No wonder the positive reviews are outdated. I can't believe anyone is going here, given their covid unsafe environment. For the second month in a row, as AZ reels from covid infections, I took my dog hoping to give her a bath and blow dry only to have the employee come out of the back and move around the space completely unmasked. The city of Flagstaff has a mask mandate and this facility claims employees wear masks and have safe procedures. Neither of my last two visits confirms this. If you don't care about the health of your customers or following the city's public health guidelines, then you shouldn't mislead people with advertisements and signage to the contrary. So for $36, I was able to get my dog partially clean and leave soaking wet twice. Very disappointing considering what a useful service this could have offered. Ironically, there is a shop right next door working tirelessly to sew gowns and masks for healthcare providers. They are for sale and also FOR FREE to people who need them. There is no excuse at all for increasing the spread of covid with this dangerous violation of the public mask requirement. read more

We called Tim in a panic and he was so nice and went above and beyond to make sure our pup was bur-free. We don't know what we would've done without him. I really liked that the temperature was set at a good level and the soap was mixed in with the water. I have been going here for about a year and the service was great, but has recently gone so far down hill. I took my dog in today for an appointment and was told it would be 4 hours. I understand if a business is understaffed, but what I don't appreciate is attitude and rudeness when asking simple questions. The woman immediately got defensive and told me to leave. No problem lady. Last time I went here as well I left my dog for 3 hours being told by 1130 she will be done. I came at 11:20 and they hadn't even started on her. Brought my dog in for a grooming today and asked for a style that is very common for my breed of dog. It has not been a problem in the past for other groomers to achieve. My standards are not high and there is room for variation and interpretation; however, what my dog received was a shaving not a cut and/or grooming. I stopped by today to pick up some treats for my pugs. They loved them so much! These homemade treats all looked like they had great ingredients and a nice variety of flavors too. My pugs are pretty sensitive and tend to get sick easily. But these treats didn't hurt their tummies at all! I wish I had bought more for them while I was there... My 13 year old long-haired cat has been struggling a little bit more than usual to keep herself well-groomed lately, and this summer she started getting quite a few mats in her fur that I wasn't able to brush out. I've never taken her to a groomer (she's never really needed it), so I was nervous about taking her. The staff here at Our Dog Wash was so friendly and so gentle with her. Angela is the one who shaved/de-matted her, and she did such a great job. It only took a half hour for her to clip my cat's nails, shave her body, and brush the rest. Also, the place didn't smell bad, and they were open at the time they said that they would be. I'm not sure why they have a couple of super negative reviews on here, but my experience was excellent. Since we live in the valley I figured it would be a long stinky home. A quick google search and phone call later: Stench mostly gone, 99.9% gone!! Very clean facility and knowledgeable, friendly owner. Generous with shampoo and ENZYMES also. And YES, Homer loved his treats. As a FYI, this conversation was with the OWNER of the business, not just some employee. The posted hours are 9am-6pm and when I called around 4pm to make sure those hours were correct and that we wouldn't be coming in less than an hour before they closed, because it takes a while for us to clean our 2 huskies well, the owner immediately answered with "the last dog needs to be done by 5:00". He then follows with asking me how far away I was and I said about 20 minutes and he replied with "yeah I'm open again tomorrow at 12". Then, being upset, my boyfriend called back to get more info and the owner says to us "well we like to get out of here too" and that "it takes 2 hours to clean afterwards" and "if we want to wash our dogs we need to be there now". First of all, if your posted hours say you're open until 6 that means we should be able to clean our dogs up until 6, not that you want to be locking the doors at 6. We even had the consciousness to make sure we weren't showing up less than an hour before they closed, and that still wasn't enough. These are basic customer service expectancies, if you say you close at 6 and it takes 2 hours to clean up afterwards, you should be leaving at 8. Second of all, we have been to Our Dog Wash twice before, and have always thought it was ridiculous to be charged on size of dog. We are doing the work ourself! We even bring our own shampoo and conditioner and still with no discount! This interaction has cost Our Dog Wash another customer. We'd rather go to Phoenix to clean our dogs before returning. read more

I'm usually not one to write a poor review. However, based on the conversation over the phone alone I won't go here. I'd rather the hassle and mess of bathing my dog at home. I moved down from Spokane and loved the self serve dog wash up there! Only $10. They included shampoo, towels, brushes, ear cleaner and perfumes. And the staff was always very kind! I called this place asked some questions on pricing and why I would be charged extra for having a larger dog. The gal was very short with me, couldn't give me a straight answer and seemed annoyed. I politely said thank you, already knowing I would look elsewhere, and the girl practically hung up on me. I care about my dog a lot. I won't take her anywhere that I don't feel comfortable or that has poor customer service. This place is the best! We have been bringing our chow/golden retriever here to get a shave and bath for the past 2 years. My dog hates going to grooming or the vet obviously, so I dragged her through the door and pushed her to the back, I got there to pick her up and she couldn't have been happier. This is a great place! It's so much easier than trying to wash my dog in the tub at home. The shampoo and conditioner is wonderful- I use the selections with no strong smell and they are wonderful. I feel like the dog gets a lot cleaner because I can really spray her entire body -including the underside -easily. The dryer is very strong and dries the dog quickly. Best groomer's in Flagstaff. i went to all the other groomers and were shocked. They left my puppy in a cage for over 7 hours without even giving himwater. I even called and requested them to do so but when I went there and looked in his cage there was none. Theie reason? They were too busy! F$%k that!!! So as a last result went here. I love it!! I had been here a few times before and liked it but recently i took my dog back there again for a trim and not only did they shave him down completely, but they CUT him twice. Once on his stomach and once on his face. They didn't even bother to tell me that they had cut my dog, it was only after I got home from picking him up that I noticed. Oh, I also paid for a full grooming service and didn't get that. My dogs nails had yet to be cut and the style in which he was shaved looked awful and ridiculous. When I went back to confront them about them not cutting his nails, the owner did it and cut my dogs nails so short, it made him bleed and the owner didn't even apologize. So overall, they cut my dog three times, didn't do what I asked them to, and lied about having cut my dog. I personally want a full refund. I paid $45 for them to inflict pain on my dog and shave him down. Never going here again. I recommend you don't either. read more

We had a very good experience at the Dog Wash. The owner was present and provided help through out the process. The enzyme for skunk worked very well and the process was long but worth it. I was able to wash my dog in warm water and the level I was able to wash her at was great. Be aware that this is a place that cleans all kinds of dirty dogs. It is not beautiful washing area. I wish I could give no stars. This place is a disaster! I walked in and smelled the strong odor of dog poo. I have worked in dog washes for over 6 years and smelled wet dog, but NEVER dog poo. The back room was filthy and unmaintained. The tub was not ready when I came in. They use the Hydrosurge Grooming System which was slow and ineffective. The conditioner was invisible and useless. My dog came out feeling like sandpaper. If I wasn't in a rush (I was travelling), I would have walked out. The couple next to me washing their dog continuously gave negative comments on the lack of cleanliness, the poor equipment, and the lack of assistance. The boy in charge never checked on us, and we could hear his personal phone call from inside the washing area. When we paid, I picked out a treat from the "bakery" case. The treats were misshapen and dried up looking. My dog who normally would eat a rock if offered, smelled the treat and turned away. I highly recommend that you stay far away from this place. Horrible!!! I went here once when it first opened years ago and it was nice. Clearly, it is owned by someone else now. The washing room was FILTHY. Wish I had taken pictures to post! The hoses on the tub are too short and kink and the shampoo barely comes out. The grooming tables are rickety and unsafe. The shampoos they offer are low quality. The homemade dog treats all were made with wheat flour...really? I'm going to pay more $ for dog treats just as unhealthy for my dog as the store bought kind? Uh, no. Worst of all, the customer service was dismal. The boy working there cared nothing about us as customers. Just took our money and left us alone. Upon check out, I complained about the condition of the place and the quality of the shampoo. His reply? "We've never had anyone complain about that before." Wow. Wish I could give NO stars.
