we came to the store by Ross home goods I'm pretty sure it was this Petsmart. I was coming in to look to adopt a cat or kitten. I laid eyes on Malcom and was very excited. that was until the young girl with dark hair and beats headphones on in the back (the one in control of cat adoption processing) was extremely rude and honestly made me not want to buy the cat anymore. She wouldn't even let my boyfriend talk and off the bat had straight attitude almost as if she doesn't trust anyone there to buy and take care of a cat. I would definitely have someone better in charge of the hiring process. I don't even know how someone that rude is not checked. read more

Very terrible customer service. Went in to buy some fish for my aquarium and some items for my dog. i was waiting in the fish section for 15 mins, there was a girl doing some tank maintenance so i was waiting for her to be done. Instead of speaking to me and telling me she could not sell me any fish today she put up a note saying fish sales for the day were done. then disappeared without explanation. i am not mad about the fish sales being finished for the day, i am upset about the lack of customer service or interaction. i left with out buying anything. i went to Petco and was helped very well by their staff and i spent a lot of money. i will not be returning to Pet Smart, maybe train your employees to actually speak to customers. read more

My dog is almost 11years old and have only gone to 3 different groomers, all great. I've never taken him to a Petsmart, but today we did since we're in Flagstaff and couldn't find anyone that was available. We booked express service, so he could get done faster. I am so glad to say that it worked out great Our groomer was Toby, who had never done a Bichon before, so I just told him to follow the cut. He did an excellent job! Sure, PetSmart is a chain, but there are not many other pet stores in the Flagstaff area that I am aware of, so I am grateful for this one! On a recent trip to Flag, my dog jumped in the car and we took off not realizing that she didn't have her leash... By the time we settled in and realized, it was close to 7pm on a Tuesday (closing time during the recent state curfew), and I called ahead and asked if they could pull a leash for me as I would be there by 6:58. I arrived and was able to pull a leash myself as the staff was helping other customers, which was even better. My dog now has a brand new turquoise leash and we've been going on plenty of walks here in Flag. Thanks PetSmart for being a reliable place for all pet-related needs! read more

This review is long overdue and is for the store only! I've always received nothing but the best service from this location! If something is out of stock, they will honor the price when the item is received. They also price match their own website (which is sometimes less than the in-store price) as well as other websites like Amazon! If you do not like taking the time price matching, their prices are more competitive than the other large pet supply retailer on the east side of town! Also, sign up for emails and texts where you get some awesome discount coupons as well as freebies! They have a great selection of pet food and supplies as well as a variety of brands! If you've opened an item, even if it is pet food or treats, and your pet does not like it, they will gladly take it back. Just recently, a 5 gallon water dispenser that I had purchased from them over two years ago started leaking for some reason. I did not have the receipt nor did it have a UPC sticker on it any longer. I brought it into the store only hoping to get a discount on a new one as I felt it should last longer than two years. That particular brand and model were discontinued but they replaced it with another one for free. Yes, for free! This is some of the best customer service I have received from any retailer! This is my go to for my dogs and cats! Plus, they always have some cuties up for adoption to help out the Coconino Humane Society and The Ark Cat Sanctuary! PetSmart is NOT Service Dog friendly. The "dog trainer" Liza Pinczewski will grill you and ask for personal medical information. She did this to my wife and my wife's friend to where they both had panic attacks. I would give the groomer a zero stars if I could! When I arrived I met the groomer and we discussed a one inch cut all over his back blending into the hind end which would be shorter. She had me look at the nap length sample board and I pointed to the longest length and said this one, not to shave him that I wanted the one inch length on top. Even before I Left she was making excuses to why she couldn't do what I wanted. When she called to tell me he was ready I asked how it went. She told me she had cut him with a 3/8ths blade. When I learned just How short that was, I was upset. How hard is it to follow instructions? The cut looks like an armature cut it. The fur is all choppy, she did not round the snout at all. I told her not to cut the tail and it's cut blunt. I will not pay for something that I didn't want, expressly declined and could have done myself. The managers response and understanding would be a 5 stars rating. He did not have me pay for this. read more

This location is great in town, but sometimes doesn't have the specific cat litter I need. I sometimes have to drive to Sedona for it, because I simply can't wait over a week for it to be shipped-if the warehouse actually has it. The employees are super friendly, and the Ark Cat Sanctuary folks with kitten/cat adoptions are the most amazing folks I've ever met. If you're looking for a new furry friend, please be sure to check out their amazing kitties! They don't get funding like other shelters in town do, so they rely on donations. You can leave supplies and food at their adoption area inside PetSmart which truly helps them, which then helps the kitties. I highly recommend going to PetSmart for your new family member wether it be a cat, bird, snake, hamster etc, and all the supplies you need. Also, be sure to add that $1 donation at checkout, to help homeless pets. It may not seem like much, but if everyone does it, it adds up and it does help. Plus it makes you feel good. read more

I've taken my baby Cheryl (long haired chihuahua) since she was a puppy to the groomers. they have always been so nice and do an amazing job and make me feel comfortable leaving her there! I really recommend all of them but we love Jay she's awesome! I also took her to dog training classes and the instructors are super knowledgeable and recommended some really good products. They totally blew it today! Pet parents of 2 very spoiled dogs which translates into we spend a lot of dog money. Purchase today included 2 Nyla bones - sign on top of the "Nyla Bone Display" said BOGO 50% off - checking out with 2 bones and other stuff. Cashier says bones aren't on sale - I said " there was a sign"- we go back to verify and the sign (again right in the middle of Nyla products is actually for product in the section to the left of the Nyla products. Cashier and Manager move sign and say "it's not for the Nyla bones - says right on the sign". No offer to make it good at all. AND after we are done checking out the cashier is talking smack with the manager about me over their in ear call mics - while I am still within earshot. You lose Petsmart!!!! read more

I would not take your dog here, and if you do, do not let Sarafina work with your dog. The salon was truly so deeply dirty. Wet, dirty towels being reused to quickly wipe off a previous dogs hair before another got on, even though as you can see in my photos, they were very slow. I came back two hours later for my apt. and should have just left, seeing that no hair had been cleaned up, and the same dirty wet towels were everywhere. I stayed because I thought it was "just" a simple nail trim, and our usual groomer was booked. Sarafina did not even acknowledge me, and in fact seemd very annoyed by me, did not smile, and took my dog back, yanking on him with one arm, saying to him "YOUR FINE COME ON! YOUR FINE! STOP." He was truly just being a normal dog pulling towards me afraid to go in- nothing crazy. She repeatedly rolled her eyes before and while he was on the table, glaring and so annoyed with my dog. When up on the table, he was very nervous and was pulling away like most all dogs do. She held on tight to his paws, and he almost slid off the table multiple times. She was not gentle, and did not even try to be sweet or calm to him. She was truly so annoyed. I asked if I could please come back to help hold him still, then I told her she could just stop and I could finish his front paws at another time at his normal place. At this point a different employee watching, walked over to help hold him from sliding off. He was stressed out. Sarafina tried again- at which point a different groomer named Sam- said she would like to take over. Sam was so very sweet with him. She added another harness for his safety on the table as he was slipping and nervous. She talked to him and told him it was okay, pet him, rubbed his paws to gain trust before trimming more nails, paused when needed. And it was done. The two other groomers knew by their facial expressions that I was very uncomfortable with Sarafina and they seemed embarrassed by her lack of professionalism and her behavior. He has been limping on his back leg since- and if it does not get better I will be going to the vet. I literally cried when I got to my car. ( I tipped Sam $10 to thank her for stepping in and taking over thank god or we would have left.) Update: It has been two weeks since then and my sweet boy is limping VERY bad on his back paws. I thought they were just sore after how rough she was. I figured maybe she squeezed to hard, or it was from her hanging on when he pulled away. Tomorrow I am taking him to the vet for xrays on both back legs to check for injuries- and have called the store manager. Sarafina should not be working with animals. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it takes sweetness and loving animals to be a groomer and she did not care at all about me or my dog. read more

I was lied to by the girl who 1st called me then by the manager. I'm a frequent customer at this Petsmart and I find employees there are always so nice and helpful. Be it a Marimo Moss ball for my goldfish tank or some holiday themed outfits for my Springer Spaniels they are always well stocked with things I need. All of the employees are knowledgeable and genuinely happy to help with questions. Returning items is also very easy when following the return policy. I'm glad my local Petsmart is such a great one! Very poor business practice. Tried to participate in trading classes with our rescue puppy. After a number of changes to class dates/times and structure we were asked to consider private lessons for our dog that needs socialization. Not helpful for our pup. Tried to make an even exchange but had to pay $10 more for the same item because the original purchase had included $10 in rewards towards the purchase. They were unable to apply the $10 rewards to the exchange and can not return the $10 rewards to my account so they are just gone now. Won't be spending money here ever again. read more

My favorite days here were adoption days. They had tons of animals that were ready for new homes here and they take great care of them. They always let me play with and hold all the cats. I loved it. They also have very friendly service and a good selection of pet products. The store is very clean but the adoption shelter that they support is definitely the best part about this place. To start, this post is to rave about the groomers and I have no complaints about the store. My dog has anxiety and is mean to strangers. Instant barking/ yelping at people and have had a couple incidents where she has bitten men. I've been here twice to get her nails done and we've been to ruff n cuts and had to leave because the owner decided he was professional enough for my anxious dog, and wasn't. First time at Petsmart groomers, Jessica, the lead, took my dog in and was a total dog whisperer and made the nail trimming happen. Today, two other groomers took my dog in and, again, made it happen. It took a lot of barking and squirming but they were so calm and make it work. I love them!! I'm going to bring my kitten in soon and I am excited because the girl can put the cat caps on for me! Also, I love that the Humane society can bring their kitties here to be adopted. We rescued our kitten at PetSmart on her first day there. The process was a breeze. read more

Zoe made my experience as a first time pet owner amazing. I recently adopted two cats whom are my babies. One of them is extremely overweight and I needed a big cat carrier and special food. Zoe was quick to help me find the perfect product and even assisted in suggesting some other items to help my cats. I ended up with an amazing cat condo (Cat approved), weight management cat food, and the cat carrier. Zoe was quick to help me with my needs and had personal experience of being a pet owner. Dana does a fabulous job grooming my dryer-impaired Doodle! The cut is always perfect, per my directions. It's easy to shave dog all over (I've experienced that) but Dana does great made my Goldendoodle look fluffy and pretty. Totally recommend! read more

Neither of my dogs love going to the groomers. However, the groomer always make them feel comfortable. They are very friendly and will take "walk ins" to get their nails cut. I have always been able to get them in for appts in a timely matter. My only complaint, there seems to be a big turnover - it would be nice to have the same groomer. read more

Please take your dog elsewhere for a nail trim. I took my pup here and shortly after we went home he was limping and crying out in pain. My vet said that it is likely he pulled or strained muscle due to the way they were holding him down. I now have a $150 vet bill since I took my little guy here. Super bad experience with their groomer. Our shih tzu who routinely behaves flawlessly for groomers came back all cut up. We had to take her to the vet to address her cuts! Called the manager and he defended groomer, no compensation, end of story. We will never go here again for grooming. read more
