The food was not very palatable. My wife and I ordered the Bloomin' Onion which is usually the best thing about this place. It came and we started going in and it just didn't taste the same as I have had before. My wife and I both discussed saying it wasn't as good as we had in the past. I looked at the bottom of the serving plate and noticed it was just floating in oil. I could have fried chicken with the amount of oil in the plate. Then came our entree's. I ordered a Cobb salad with grilled chicken, and wife ordered the crab topped Barumundi with seasoned rice and seasoned vegetables. My salad was fairly large except the grilled chicken. There was at most 3 oz of chicken on the salad. My wife's meal she said was very under seasoned. The seasoned steamed vegetables she said tasted like they didn't even use salt and pepper on them. Her fish she said was ok. She stated as usual that my cooking was much more delicious. I agreed and we both agreed not to try again. For the quality and amount of food you get it is way over priced. I used to go to Outback pretty regularly but with Covid and the soaring prices EVERYWHERE, have had to really cut back on eating out. But last night my twin sister was in town and we decided to treat ourselves. We are a LOT of work-we never order anything "as it comes", but our waitress was WONDERFUL - had a great attitude and got our crazy order completely right (a rarity these days). Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were perfect as well. About midway through the meal the manager came around and made sure we were ok. When I presented a gift card that covered more than half of our tab, I was afraid our waitress would be disappointed and worried about how we (the picky people) would tip (and I kind of expected her attitude to change). But she didn't even flinch, which made it very easy to leave her a 35% tip. We had a large pickup order today. It was perfect. The order was accurate (for six adults and a kid!) and it was ready on time- I had scheduled it in advance. We asked for more bread (because they only gave us one loaf, and the kid usually eats an entire loaf...) and they were very accommodating. Ok, first off I love Outback, this is my family's go to restaurant. But tonight was just awful. So my son's sirloin, supposed to be med-well, is super rare. My ribeye was all fat. The chicken in the Alice springs chicken was a chicken tender. And these was no sauce on the Queensland pasta. Not just a little sauce, no sauce at all. The apps and salad were fine, but the entrees we're just awful. I understand it's a Friday night and under staffed because of covid and all that, but this is ridiculously bad. Worst meal I have ever had from this location. I tried to call to see if I could get the order fixed, but I can't get through. Service was very good. Hostess was very personable our server, Chris, took fantastic care of us. Nothing but praise for the service. The food... it wasn't disgusting. It's was just meh. The blooming onion -- the onions were greasy and soggy. The baked potato was undercooked and underdressed, and I couldn't fully mix the little bit of butter and sour cream into my potato because it was super firm. The 6 oz sirloin was cooked to order, nicely medium rare, but it was flavorless. Luckily I anticipated this and asked for the garlic butter and some blue cheese. I wasn't shocked (and this restaurant wasn't my choice)-- it's what you can generally expect from a chain restaurant that's been around this long. Well to say anything good about Outback denton is our waiter was good. We brought 15 people there for graduation party last night on Cinco de Mayo. They had no air-conditioning. We had to wave our menus in front of us the entire time. My husband had an extremely long hair in his burger that he ordered. My daughter shrimp was undercooked and had no taste if anything it was over seasoned. I had to send back my French onion soup which tasted like chicken broth. It was horrible. Recently my wife and I along with another couple did a steak challenge. We ordered the 22oz porterhouse at 3 different steak houses approximately 1 week apart. Here are the results. Texas Roadhouse was well cooked good service, steak was chewy and the lowest priced at 23 bucks service fair atmosphere kind of loud Outback steak house was not well cooked, the steak was chewy with less than good service and kind of dark and gloomy. Came here with the wife on a quiet Sunday after church and overall had a very great experience despite their very negative score on here. I'll describe each experience in categories below: Food: Tried an 8 oz filet and the Aussie Fried Chicken (chicken fried in their bloomin' onion batter). The steak was cooked to order and I decided to add garlic butter which was a huge boost to the flavor! For the sides we both got fries and their chicken tortilla soup (off menu item), both delicious! Very fresh tasting and full of flavor. The steak itself was juicy and hot, with as much flavor as you can expect from a filet. The Aussie Fried Chicken was a familiar very yummy flavor as exactly as you might expect. The batter was the exact same as their signature onion which made the chicken taste very good and the portion size was huge! I should also add that the chicken was moist and tender. Decor: Dark with enough natural light, the lights above the tables give enough mood lighting and are easy on the eyes. Subtle hints of Australian flair without being in your face about it. The seating was very soft and cushy which matters a lot to me when I'm going to be enjoying myself. Staff: Friendly and attentive, about what you should expect from a restaurant. We have had some great meals at this Outback, but todays wasn't their best day. I ordered the Alice Springs Chicken, thinking it was a healthier choice than some of the other menu choices. Salad was good, brown bread was a bit dark and overcooked. Our meal arrived almost exactly one hour after we were seated. Seemed like a long time. Anyways, my chicken was covered, I mean covered. In bacon. I was looking forward to the mushrooms, and I enjoyed each of the four small mushrooms that were on my chicken. Our waitress came by and asked how our food was. I explained my situation and after looking at my plate, she went and found the manager and brought her back. She was shocked at the appearance of my chicken. She immediately offered to make me another serving. After I explained that we didn't have another hour to wait, she offered to bring me an order to-go, fixed the way it should be. Great service provided by Kevin at this location he was on the spot with our order and making sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. Had the 6 oz with shrimp and French onion soup with seasonal veggies. The only thing I could see that wasn't exactly my taste was the cheese on the soup was a bit thicker than usual and so it made the soup a bit of a task. Typically the cheese is thin and can be easily cut through with your spoon, but this cup you had to chase the cheese to the bottom just to cut it. This Outback restaurant has been remodeled for the better since November 2014. I liked the look and feel of the new bar area inside. We went there during the early evening and the service was fast and attentive by not only the bartender but also the team of servers. We had ordered Shrimp on the barbie for an appetizer and it was spiced and cooked just right. I like the new plating compared to the older style on a bread. Shrimp tasted great however wish the size was bigger but then again for $9.99 I can't ask for more. For dinner I had the Pork Chop. I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked this dish and it was served at the right temperature and spiced well. It was even priced right at $14.99 and came with 2 sides. 2 Fosters 22oz draft beers later I had a better experience at this location than most reviewers. Call it chance, luck or whatever. Outback is usually good, I hadn't been to this location before. I was disappointed. We came here on a Friday evening and there was no wait which probably should have been the first sign. It took a very long time before a server finally came to the table though. We ordered a blooming onion which was quite good. We ordered their sirloin steak which didn't seem to have any seasoning and the steaks were so thin. They make Texas Roadhouse seem like fine dining in comparison to their steaks. I don't know if it was an offnight but the flavor and size of their steaks makes me think they are lagging behind other similar franchises these days. read more

Summary: inCREDibly overpriced food. Details: A 6oz filet for $22. We're it not Outback I might be onboard. My mom wouldn't order it because SHE thought it was too expensive. We ended up with Bourbon Bacon Salmon that comes with a side of veggies. That side was a medium sized broccoli, three bias cut carrot slices, and two zucchini slices. They were actually yellow squash. Salmon was a 7oz piece. All for $19. Also have the Tilapia topped with lump crab w/ veggies. Same veggie set up as the salmon. Also a side sweet potato. Tilapia plate was $18, potato was $3 issue with the potato is that it was a good bit smaller than a baseball. Also had a kid meal with Mac n Cheese and broccoli. Food temps were good, flavor was good. The value is so completely unacceptable. It took about 25 minutes to get our food after ordering. There were maybe 12 tables seated, a pretty even mix of 2 and 4 tops w/ I think one 6 top. A few people at the bar. There was no good reason for the meal to take so long. At one point we asked for another loaf of bread and that took about 12 minutes to arrive. Drink refills took too long. Almost forgot! We got a bloomin onion and it was at least half the size of what I recall. This isn't like where as a 6yo kid I had a teddy bear that was the monster attacking the world and my army men were there to take him down. Wherein my head the bear was at least three feet tall. Then several years later I find that bear and realize he stands about 18". No, my last visit to Outback was around 2003 so there's no scale of time affecting my memory. Gotta love "unlimited shrimp!" The restaurant and the staff sure weren't stingy with them either! Kept them coming as fast as we could put them down. The rest of the meal didn't suffer either (that sometimes happens on the specials) - the steaks were cooked to perfection, the sides were all well done. The staff was top notch - very conscious about your dining experience. Drink orders were taken very quickly after being seated, food order was rapid after that. The staff's attitude was great all the way from the bar to the door! The restaurant was about 60% full, the staff kept up getting the finished places bussed and ready for new customers, so there wasn't a wait at the door. This is an improvement from 7-8 months ago when we came to an empty restaurant with about 3/4 of the tables dirty and empty. Well done to the management and staff for turning it around. read more

My family and I were here on Valentine's Day and again tonight, Saturday, 2/22/14 and we just about always sit in the bar area if possible. I had the Victoria's Filet both evenings and both times it was cooked to perfection - medium - as requested and seasoned wonderfully. We also had the pork porterhouse, the coconut shrimp, the ahi tuna, all 3 of the soups, and I can't remember what else between the two nights. The food is consistently wonderful, but it's the service at the bar that continues to impress each one of the 4 of us for different reasons. The food was delicious and I can't recall a time it hasn't been. I had the pleasure of receiving speedy service from Amanda who was upbeat and friendly despite the raining outside. I ate alone and while I finished my desert the manager Ms. Beth approach and asked if my meal was fine and I'm sure my smile spoke before I did. I was so taken back that she took the time out to politely inquire about not only my meal but overall service. I answered that my meal was succulent and flavorful leaving me full and sated. This was the first time I had dined alone and the receptionist Sat me at a cozy table with the tv in visible range which I greatly appreciated. I felt right at home and completely comfortable where she place me that I couldn't have requested a better seat. The servers are well trained, polite and accommodative which leaves a seamless flow of positive energy to any full customer. As far as recommendations try the Victoria Filet Mignon (medium rare) with the steamed (can be grilled) Lobster tail with some sweet desert wine. Will I dine there again you ask? Been going to the Outback for 20 plus years now and this was by far the worst experience. Out of our party of 4, 3 of us were very dissatisfied and personally I feel very little was done to rectify the situation. My steak was mostly gristle and the veggies were under cooked. My mom's steak was a very medium rare when it was supposed to be medium and had a funny taste so she couldn't eat it. My sisters steak was medium rare but had a gray look to it and the waiter spilled water on her and in her food. He did very little to help aid in the clean up besides get more towels and watch us struggle to clean our table. He never checked on us after our food was delivered and only found out about our issues at the end of the meal. He did offer to get the Mgr who could possibly comp some of our meal. We weren't looking for a comp, there were legit issues with the food that needed to be addressed which I'm sure never were because we were never approached by management. The first life-threatening mistake was ordering a gluten-free grilled shrimp. The manager himself brought out the shrimp with four slices of bread, clearly not gluten-free. If my friend had been blindfolded, he would be 6 feet "down under" (the ground). Next, we asked if the cheese fries were gluten-free and the manager affirmed that they were and that there was no reason they should not have been on the gluten-free menu. He then sent our server back 5 minutes later to tell us that they were not doing gluten-free fries tonight. Finally, we got to ordering entrees. A 28 oz. bone-in natural cut ribeye, medium. At least, that's what we asked for. Alas, it felt like we had found snow in Texas because that steak was rare. It was borderline raw. The manager, instead of offering me a new steak, asked if I wanted the steak to be "reheated" and offered fresh mashed potatoes (of which I had not touched). It came back burnt on the outside but just as raw on the inside. It seemed as if they just cut off the raw meat I pointed out because the steak came back seemingly smaller. The second steak we ordered was an 8 oz. center-cut sirloin ordered medium; however, sitting in it's pool of blood as it was served, that steak too was rare as a Game Of Thrones episode without a sex scene. The sides were a mess as well. My other friend's mashed potatoes were missing chives. Plot twist, they were on my gluten-free friend's loaded potatoes, which he asked to be chive-free. Had my gluten-free friend also been allergic to chives, this would've been the second nail in the coffin. They left the chives on his loaded potato after "double-checking." All bad things aside, the waiter was a nice guy and very welcome. He made funny jokes as we discussed our bad experience. The bread was okay-too bad my gluten-free friend couldn't eat it.
