We were seated very quickly, especially considering it was a little over an hour before closing. Our server, Nick, was incredibly polite, respectful, and patient. My steak had to be sent back but this happens about 70% of the time to me regardless of restaurant. I like my steak medium well and it arrived medium rare. Our server was really sweet and he did his best. The quality of the food was horrible though. The wings were tiny and burnt. The blooming onion was also burnt. Still a five star steakhouse in my opinion. The steak was cooked exactly how I love it, medium well and so tender you can cut it with a fork.... The lobster was perfectly cooked and had a great flavor. The shrimp appetizer was excellent, salad was flavorful with fresh lettuce, cucumbers and half cherry tomatoes. I came here around 8pm mid week early Oct. it was Not super busy. I was seated right away, waitress was awesome. Very patient, and attentive. Side Salad was Huge!!!! Worth the up-charge to add on to my meal. I ordered the ribeye 13oz and shrimp (5) combo came with 2 sides. I got the upgraded side of asparagus- it was very good. Also the garlic mashed potatoes- these were def a winner. I dinged them only because I had ordered my steak medium, and it came out rare. NOT A BIG DEAL!!! Which they took back to fix right away no issues at all. I HATE sending food back, but I just couldn't do it too red for me. My issue was when they brought it back to me a HUGE CHUNK of my steak was missing. I mean like a third of the steak. So that was pretty annoying. I did not say anything. So that's on me. For a chain restaurant, this is one of my favorite places. I enjoy sitting in the bar area and watching the games on tv. Always opt for the complimentary bread unless you are gluten free. For starters, the Wood grilled shrimp, bloomin' onion and Aussie cheese fries are great choices. My go to is the Bloomin' burger. It's always cooked to perfection. The combination of the meat, cheese, fried bloomin' onions and bloomin' sauce creates a tasty combination. I order it with fries and do them Aussie style, which adds bacon and cheese. Maybe this is a calorie killer meal, but it's so good. Other favorites are the Alice Springs chicken and the outback steak. read more

First, the waiter did a phenomenal job!! Second, the food was horrible! I got the steak and tail with homes style mashed potatoes and Tasmania chili. All of it was bad besides the lobster tail. I found the food and service to be above average at the Outback location when compared to other steak house chains. Two nights in a row had dinner at the bar (bone in rib-eye and filet), both steaks cooked the way requested and flavorful. The service was also very good, same bartender both nights (middle aged Caucasian man) who was extremely polite and attentive. Decided to go to Outback tonight because I have been craving a good Steak and my Daughter wanted the Bloomin Onion. We were seated right away. I noticed they have every other table & booth blocked off for social distancing. All employees were wearing a mask. Our waiter was so attentive and nice, he made sure to bring us refills often. Mediocre at best!! Past 2 times I've went something was wrong in the kitchen.....or at least that's what I was told. I guess if it's closer to closing time 8:15pm you get What you get . I usually don't eat at franchise restaurants and I've only been to outback once in middle school and never revisited. I came to try their new menu and I was utterly surprised. The food quality was way better than I imagined. We started off with appetizers (shrimp, steak) and moved onto their famous fried onions. 3 of us split the bloomer dish and we were not even halfway through. I wonder how many people this dish serves. Each dish was paired with a beer and I can't say much about the beer because alcohol isn't my thang. Shortly after the appetizers, we had salad, ribs, salmon, steak, and dessert. The ribs were unbelievable. They were so tender and flavorful. The salmon was a tad dry and I didn't care for the steak and gave it away. As for the dessert, I did not fancy it because it was chocolate. Amazing customer service. Well I can say I was pleasantly surprised, so much so that I'm not even done eating and leaving a review because it's necessary to say the good too. Don't know if it's just been so long since I've been to an Outback, or that I was just so famished by the time I was eating after 10pm but man was it good! 1. My to-go order was perfect! It actually included my entire order, the first time! This shouldn't be that impressive but since Covid hit there has been an excuse for everyone under the sun to not get your order right. Glad I tipped, or maybe it was bc I tipped??? Either way kudos on that! 2. Not sure if this is typical or it was the end of the night and I just got some magic but my order seemed larger than what I was expecting. Yay, cuz I'm starved! 3. Steak was perfectly cooked (ordered it slightly more pink and by the time I sat down to eat), it was the perfect amount of pink still left. 4. Also all my hot food was hot-very hot! My cold items were still cold, and did I mention it was all there just as I ordered it? 5. Flavor-a tad salty and peppery for my liking BUT I don't care for too much of it of it plus I've cut back even farther since my very young husband's heart attack. But I'm traveling without him, so decided to enjoy. 6. It was so good (and honestly we don't eat out often and it's been years since I've been to Outback) that my son kept asking if I was ok as I was shoveling it in my mouth (no fat jokes needed, I've been up since 730am and ate my first meal of the day outside of gum at 10pm so just keep them to yourself). 7. Finally the icing on the cake was, I hated to do this but I got curbside bc my young son is disabled from his pediatric cancer and didn't want to get him out in the rain. The woman came out with her umbrella and before she walked away, she paused to allow me to put my food safely on the floor and get my window up while holding the umbrella over herself and the car. Of course, we just "had to" start with the blooming onion which I have not had in a long time and thus it seemed smaller than in the past, but that could be my memory. I had the Alice Springs chicken which I have not had in some time. It is a large grilled piece of chicken with cheese, mushrooms and deliciously thick bacon. Quite good along with the fries. Occasionally, Outback may be a good option. It's somewhat kid friendly and they have a few good entrees. However, in West Knoxville, this is definitely not a solid choice. In particular, this location is way off the mark. I don't know if it's the management, kitchen staff, or everyone. But, they don't have it together here. We decided to go to Outback on Fathers' Day for lunch and arrived at 11 (right when they open). After ordering, one Medium Well steak arrived looking bloody -- more like Medium Rare. Worst Outback I have ever been too. In fact it's the only one I've been to that I didn't leave fully satisfied. Me and my mother both ordered Victoria Filets. My mom's first and second Filet (yes I said second) were rare/raw. She asked for medium rare. I was given a sirloin (not a Filet) rare the first and second time (even when I told the waiter I was supposed to get a filet). After the second time I got a manager. Had he not comp'd our meal I would have given them one or no stars. Not sure if it was the waiter or the kitchen or both. I can't turn down Alice Springs Chicken. It's been a while since we visited this Aussie steakhouse but it's worth the wait. The lunch menu was a treat and my fave was on that menu!! Every other table had the famous blooming onion on it but we passed as our appetites weren't up to that challenge. My husband got the meatloaf, one of his faves. He said it was a bit spicy as was the chili he chose as a side. He really enjoys that kick. His blue cheese salad was a hit as was the French onion soup I got. Five stars for the great service tonight at the Yelp event! Amazing food. So much food we couldn't even start to eat it all. They have really won me over with their efforts. They are launching a new menu and we got a preview tonight. The coconut shrimp and steak quesadilla were both really good. This is the new and improved Outback and boy do they try and let you know they mean it! The atmosphere was VERY very dim as are all Outbacks but this one seemed a little more than usual. I was initially disturbed because we were seated ALLLLL the way in the back when the place was not packed or busy. But..that all changed very quickly! We had a very "outgoing" server who was enthusiastic and gave new recommendations although I have been to Outback dozens of times. I was shocked that the menu could feel so new due to the presentation of products never before explored. The bloomin onion we had was so on point that it felt like a sharpened pencil had just come out of the sharpener. Ok , not to loose myself but this Outback surprised me as I was expecting the same ole treatment and meh service I have come to expect from this restaurant. I must say I was impressed by the server, manager who came to check in on us and friendly staff that held the door and waived us bye! we don't often go to chains, but we've been on a kick recently to try different steakhouses than the more expensive ones, to see if there are lower-cost places that still put out a good steak. This review and my four stars come from that vantage point. Overall, we thought our filets were quite good and the cost is indeed a good bit less than premier steakhouses. We both had combos with seafood items added which we both liked as well. I appreciated the many choices available. Even in the featured specials, you could upgrade (or upsize) the quality of steak, you could choose from various seafood options, you had many choices of sides including very reasonable upcharges for the fancier stuff (for example I upgraded salad and got a delicious pecan-blue cheese salad which I think cost only an extra buck). Service was good. My only complaint was that the draft beer selection was weak. Not much variety and not much in the way of craft beers (I did not look at bottled products; I can buy bottles/cans anywhere). And the waitress didn't know beer clearly so couldn't help me pick one (of the few) I didn't know already, to jive with my tastes. Beer selection reminded me of Applebee's (beers for kids-- well, that's an insult to many kids). Overall, a solid steak meal for a decent price. We both agreed we'd go back without hesitation for another steak. Oh, they have a $12 steak/fries/beer combo on Wednesdays which I'm going to try soon. I KNOW the steak won't be nearly so good (and the beer, I discussed) but still for $12, it should be interesting! Update: we tried Wednesday night special. I thought it was pretty good for a very low price. 6 ounces sirloin and a side, I didn't ask but I think you could upgrade the sides to choose their premium size if you wanted to. I mentioned before that their beer selection isn't so great, of course that's even more true when you are limited to domestic drafts, but so be it.
