Had lunch here midday over the weekend. Restaurant wasn't too crowded and we were seated promptly and provided a high chair. Our waitress, Lexy, was delightful. From the first order of our drinks until the check was requested, she provided prompt, non-intrusive, charming service. We had the cheese fries, burger, and sirloin. Sunday 11/4 my husband and I stopped here at 2ish pm. Traveling from Shreveport. We walked in was asked how many? The hostess advised the young lady to seat us; she reluctantly headed to the back of the restaurant, I asked to be seated instead like 3 rows further up. The young lady laid the napkin wrapped silverware on the table and left. Did not say one word!! I went to the ladies room. Came back sat for at least 5 -7 more minutes, asked my husband have you seen a waiter? He had not. Was looking forward to dining since our local OB closed last year! There was no sense of urgency to provide any type of customer service. Appears OB didn't give a hoot about these customers! We got up,left and ate in Humble@ Pappas Seafood House! The service was great. The food was ok. What ruined my experience at Outback on September 4th was the manager John. He began yelling at employee. He was using harsh language and being very disruptive and unprofessional. I know you can not always be nice but you do not yell and cuss at your employees in front of customers ever. Outback's OK. Like with any big chain restaurant, you have to cater to the strengths of the franchise if you want to have a decent dining experience. In the case of Outback that means steak (and maybe chicken). I had the T-Bone most recently, and it was a decent cut of meat. Service is good. We usually sit in the bar area, and there's never any time where I desperately needed a server and couldn't find one. I must say I was pleased because my experience with another outback was disappointing. Although the food was good/alright. For dessert I got the butter cake which I actually really enjoyed. It's a very simple dessert, and it's not as sweet as the other desserts. Consists of cream and strawberry sauce. If there were fresh strawberries and none of that sauce then I would be more in favor because personally I don't like the strawberry sauce. would definitely come again. the creamy spinach is literally the name. 3/5. This was a huge disappointment. The front of the house sat me at a table and was pleasant and professional. The wait staff however weren't stellar. I asked for the steak with Jack Daniels sauce medium. There wasn't any pink strip. The so-called sauce looked like water. No one asked me how my steak was. Don't worry guys. To start off, My best friend and I chose to eat at this location because I loved the outback in Dallas. We walked in, and there was no one to greet us and we waited for a long time to get seated. We got seated, ordered our food and the server gave us the wrong food but we let it go. Her steak looked a little weird but we didn't think much of it until we got back home and she started to feel really sick and vomited all over the place. Outback is our go to place when we want a decent and relaxing steak dinner. Our travel plans put us in Lufkin around dinner time, so we elected to stop at this one for dinner. While one of the hallmarks of going with a national chain is being able to have a consistent experience, this one was even better than the usual good service we've come to expect. We had lunch today at the Lufkin Outback Steakhouse. First visit. The restaurant was dark. Black ceilings with low lighting. The booth benches were too close to the table, uncomfortable and difficult to get in and out of even though we are both average size people. The server was average. His/her clothing smelled like cigarette smoke. Brought us water, took our orders. While this is a steak house, we ordered the lunch coconut shrimp and a burger with fries. Server asked how we wanted the burger cooked. Didn't ask anything else about how we wanted the burger. Brought us some bread which was good. Our order seemed to take a long time especially because the restaurant was not very crowded. We noticed that a patron who came in after us got his order before we did. Perhaps this was because it was a steak and baked potato. When the order did arrive: shrimp was overcooked with coconut breading too browned; vegetable were limp; fries were limp and not hot; burger had mustard and was dry. I looked at the shrimp and decided that I didn't want to send it back because we had already waited so long. The shrimp was ok because the sauce served with it was good. We ate the lunch because we were hungry but it was not a very good meal for the price. 10.99 for a mediocre burger and cold fries is too much! 8.99 for overcooked coconut shrimp and limp vegetables is too much. We will never eat at the Lufkin Outback Steakhouse again. read more

My husband and I ate here on the weekend for our date night. I wish we would have chosen somewhere else to go. The tortilla soup wasn't very tasty, but the blue cheese wedge salad was awesome! My husband got a steak and asked for medium. Half of it was medium and the other half almost well done. After all, this is a steakhouse...So we expected the steak to come out how it was requested. The dessert was what looked like a Debbie cake brownie with 2 small scoops of ice cream for $8! It was very expensive and not worth it. We will not be returning! About a month ago my family and I went to outback steakhouse because we wanted a nice place eat. The service was terrible! I ordered a medium well steak and I got a terrible steak. The steak was extremely under cooked and it had a TON fat and gristle. I also got a salad and the ranch on the salad is more of like a dip. The ranch was way too spicy! I haven't eaten beef since then! I was completely and truly disgusted. To be honest my opinion is Outback Steakhouse is one of the worst places to eat in Lufkin. read more

I ordered the Aussie sampler, the 10oz ribeye with mushroom toppings, broccoli (cheese $1 extra) and a Baked Sweet potato. The appetizer was the blooming onion, cheese fries with bacon bits, and macaroni cheese balls. The onions had alot of crisp but not alot of onion and slightly fried too long because it had a burnt after taste. The macaroni balls were excellent! Cheese fries just fine. It took awhile for the entrees to come it but the sides were beyond excellent. The steak flavor was great but the steak itself was not tender.
