I was visiting some friends in the area and stopped in since it was the closest restaurant. From the outside, I wasn't sure what to expect but once inside, I was impressed The atmosphere was lively with lots of patrons at the bar, and everyone seemed genuinely engaged and enjoying themselves. The staff were fantastic. Friendly, welcoming, and super informative. Once they found out I was from out of town, they even gave me a tour of the place, which was awesome. They have a huge venue in the back that's very, very impressive Perfect for events or gatherings. In the front, they've got billiards and a shuffleboard table, making it a great spot to hang out beyond just dining. I had a couple of beers and ordered the quesadillas and a burger to go both were excellent. The bartenders were awesome, and the owner was on-site, clearly invested in both his team and ensuring every guest feels welcomed and taken care of. I'd only planned to grab my food to go but ended up staying well over an hour chatting with everyone This place is a hidden gem with a great vibe, great food, and even better people. Thisnis for thier First St in Downtown Lufkin Location. We always give a place two visits just in case the first visit was a fluke. Our first visit we ordered wings and pizza. The wings were pretty good but the pizza was cold. This visit everything was unbelievably slow. It didn't seem that busy. The music was so loud that we couldn't hear the waitress, nor could she hear us without leaning over the table. We ordered the BBQ Pizza and the Brisket Nachos. When we got them they were cold. We told the waitress about it and asked for to-go containers so we could leave and heat the food ourselves. We just didn't want to be there anymore. We got a brief sorry about that and our check. I can get over a long wait for food, but not if you give me cold food. That being said, the pizza did taste pretty decent. However, it seemed a bit meager for a meal portion. I would have considered it an appetizer. I want to like the place and I want to encourage locally owned eateries. But you have to bring your A game. read more

So we pulled up to this joint after reading reviews on Yelp. My kids were like NOOOOOOOOOOO! This place is scary. It's a bar. There was a lady getting a pickup order, so we asked her if it was ok for kids. She said it was good just not after 11. She brought us a menu when she came back out. We were pretty skeptical at this point and decided to go somewhere else, but my little one HAD to go pee, and since we were out in the boonies, we had no choice but to go in.... It was really good. It was quiet, the young waiter did a great job and the food was very good and affordable! We stayed for over an hour and had a good dinner. Would recommend! read more

We have been for lunch several. Best burgers in county. Had sliced brisket at lunch one day. Very moist cooked properly and very tender. We went back tonite and extremely disappointed. Both my sliced brisket plate and wife's sliced brisket sandwich were extremely tough. Over cooked. Dry as shoe leather. The worst brisket we have ever experienced. Maybe they had a bad night. Was very busy but food arrived very timely despite the large crowd. I kinda felt like the brisket had bee cooked a few days ago, put in the cooler, and re-heated in oven for tonite. If you are looking for great bbq perhaps you might try some place else. Or try it. Maybe they will get it right. We loved the Ice House Atmosphere and fun crowd.
