What a nice little shop! Lots of food, chews, clothing, accessories, etc. for your pet to peruse and choose from. The ladies at the shop were very positive and helpful and even wanted pictures of our lil pup Emma with her new sweater purchase on. There is a lot of variety of items but can also tell that what they do have has been carefully curated for their customers. Emma definitely had a great time looking/sniffing through the selections and I find that is the true test of a good pet boutique...if the clientele is interested! If you have a pet, come on by to OEOTL and see what they have to offer, I am glad we did and Emma has a nice new sweater from the experience.

Before COVID, we did a lot of in-store shopping and since March we have transitioned completely to online order/curbside pickup. In-store experience: What we enjoy the most is the excellent customer service. We are first time pet owners and so when we first went into the store, we had a lot of question such as what types of treats might be good for our dog, what type of nail clippers to use and how often to get our dog groomed. We talked to multiple associates over various visits about our questions, and everyone was knowledgeable and happy to go to extra mile in helping us out. Additionally, the store is just fun to walk around. They have a great selection of toys, treats, collars, apparel, etc. They have many different bones/animal parts as chew toys for dogs; we enjoyed taking our dog in and letting him "choose" a bone. The store has most essentials in stock, especially when it comes to food, treats and toys. There are also grooming and training services available, though we have not used either due to COVID restrictions. Additionally, there is a veterinary clinic in-house; we visited them soon after we adopted our dog and were great for a basic visit though we have moved to a different vet now. There are cleaning stations around the store in case your pup has an accident while inside, which makes the experience a lot less stressful for those with young puppies. The last time we went inside the store, they had decent COVID measures enforced, such as social distancing when standing at the checkout line. Online order/curbside pickup: We have loved this option and hope that it will still be available post-COVID. For each of the 4-5 orders that we have placed online, our items have been ready for pickup in less than an hour. Upon arriving at the store, we park in one of the designated spots and call the store phone number. Someone hand delivers our items to our car, even tossing it in the backseat rather than to the driver to further minimize contact. There have been a few items which were listed as available online but haven't actually been available, resulting in a cancelation but thus far it has not been a huge issue for me. In these cases, I re-ordered the items online and received them within a couple of days. We look forward to continuing to shop at this Petco.

After only…read moreabout 2 minutes, the employee told me they weren't going to groom him because he seemed "mad" and shy. The thing is, he wasn't mad at all he was just shy. He's a dog, and it's completely normal for dogs to be nervous or shy in a new place with strangers. They didn't even try to work with him, calm him down, or give him a chance. They judged him almost immediately without making any effort. I completely wasted my time !! If you're not willing to at least attempt to work with nervous or shy dogs, then you shouldn't be working as a dog groomer. I would not recommend this location based on my experience.

They also refused to do her nails for the same reason. I contacted a groomer in Cary who said they'd never heard of that as a complaint. This is unacceptable for any product, especially pet food. When I returned it, I was only offered a refund or an exchange for the same brand -- despite clear concerns about a possible infestation issue. It was laughed about that, "this happens when we don't have climate control in our warehouse." No effort was made to offer compensation or a price adjustment if I chose to purchase a different line of dog food instead from this Petco location. I asked for a discount such as 10% off of our purchase of a different brand of food due to the major health concern surrounding Wholehearted, yet the manager was unaccommodating. This response was extremely dismissive given the seriousness of the issue and I will never be returning as a Petco customer.

For our cat, we get the wet food brand Weruna - and although I'm used to a very similar Fromm purchasing plan of the bigger cans (per store policy at a different store), Pet Mania unfortunately doesn't do that here. However, there's a very huge flavor selection of this brand (that comes in the small cans), so I'm pretty happy with having many choices. Finally, my cat also loves a stuffed animal brand called supercat (mainly the dinosaurs though), and this store carries this with a price pretty competitive to that of Amazon. Very well stocked for being a fairly small store, so I come here for most of my pets' needs. Fair warning that compared to other commercial stores, some may think this is pricey; however, the selections here tend to be the higher quality brands overall.
