Enjoyed a sunset yoga session at Baker Beach lead by Julie last night and had such a magical time! It felt so special to enjoy such a peaceful yoga class, facing the ocean, moving our bodies to a well curated playlist, and lead by a teacher with a really glowy, positive, relaxed, happy vibe. Looking up to a blue sky with birds flying by was such a refreshing change of scenery compared to the ceiling of a yoga studio. There were a few issues with the headsets buzzing out loudly for a split second here and there, but it wasn't a vibe killer. Definitely will be making it back to another sometime in the future :) read more

I have taken the Saturday class with Kirin maybe 4-5 times now and it gets better every time!! Kirin has amazing energy and smoothly, lovingly, and slowly directs the class in such a gentle way!! The yoga practice is great, the dancing next to the water is great! I loved to see people really open up and connect. It's not so common nowadays, it was so refreshing!! We need more activities like this to remember we are all connected and need this connection to be refreshed, as well. read more

Very hostile, aggressive and violent company. Several instructors, employees and members harassed a man that was legally filming on the beach from a respectable distance and then they approached him demanding that he go to another beach as if they owned the public beach. The cameraman while simply existing in a public space was aggressively forced to move around because two females from the group kept waving their hands in his camera literally inches away. People have the 1st Amendment right to film in public, there is no expectation of privacy in public and they do not need permission. It is a constitutionally protected activity. And anyone interfering/blocking their camera is in violation of the Bane Civil Rights Act in California. One man in the group physically attacked the cameraman. Even the female instructor (there is video of the entire incident) aggressively tried to swat the camera out of his hand. As the video shows he remained at a far distance and it is this group that approached harassing him. They called the police and exaggerated the situation in order to get a quicker response. But these are law enforcement officers not feelings enforcement. When the Cops arrived the cameraman was already off the beach and up the hill in the parking lot still being followed and harassed by the same two women from the group. The cops recognized that the cameraman wasn't doing anything illegal and they immediately left him to continue what he was doing. Hundreds of thousands will see the video and see how unprofessional and aggressive this Yoga company and it's instructor, employees and group are. They've just created a negative reputation for themselves. read more

I hired Julie to do a private session of Silent Disco Yoga as a team building event. She brought kombucha, extra mats and all the headphones. We did it outdoors and she was able to accommodate up to 50 people. Julie made it fun and group oriented for us. She tailored the flow to work for all levels and made sure everyone was comfortable from beginning to end. The music selection was perfect, it was the right mix of hip and calm. I received nothing but positive feedback from the group. Communication was easy, group rate was reasonable and she traveled to our office. Loved the whole experience. I would highly recommend for corporate and group events. I can't wait to check out the beach yoga sometime! read more

Absolutely amazing experience. I was visiting SF with my girlfriends and we decided to try this class. It was offered on the beach overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. The setting was perfect (although a bit chilly). Everywhere I turned, I had an absolutely amazing view. The earphones used to hear the teacher and the music were great. They allowed me to be in my personal space while still hearing what was going on around me. The music was perfect; relaxing, invigorating, etc. The yoga itself was also great. being a yogi it is hard to write a negative review especially since I appreciate this outfit intentions. But it boils down to quality of instructors when you want to take a class that will tech you and motivate you. I took two classes at Baker Beach and was very disappointed. The instructors ideas of vinyasa were perplexing to me. Given the fact that class costs $ 26 a pop, - the bluetooth headset system does not justifies that - this class is meant for rich housewives or hip crowd from Marina. I worked with Julie on two events and both were outstanding! My firm did a private yoga on the beach Friday afternoon afternoon and our guests loved it! It definitely forced folks out of their comfort zone in all the right ways, and was a beautiful way to end a week and start the weekend. We also hired Julie to run yoga, reiki, and more at our corporate retreat! Our retreat attendees loved the yoga available in the morning! We were pleasantly surprised at how many people attended - Julie's personally inviting people to join and making it beginner friendly was perfect. The afternoon and evening reiki sessions were also so well received and appreciated. There was a lot of learning and socializing over the weekend and so this was a great compliment. What a day by the bay! The sun, the ocean breeze and the view of the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge and... Smell of democracy in the air! Quite a day for yoga on the beach. Some moves were not so easy on the sand and was a bit hard to keep the balance but overall such a great experience! I would totally do that again. 30$ is a bit a lot for a class that doesn't have the cost of a studio but I would totally pay $20 for it. read more

I live in San Francisco and booked a sunset beach session for my friend who was visiting. When we showed up, there were no organizers there except 20+ other confused customers. Many felt like they had been scammed. The phone number offered did not work, no one replied via email, and organizers told others that 'they were on the beach, you just need to look.' I checked their page and saw a number of others complained about last minute cancellations without any notification. I'm sure this is a joy when it does happen to occur, but I would not take my chances on such an unprofessional organization that is a poor reflection on San Francisco. Instead: take your mat and a towel to the beach with some headphones and a nice youtube video (I love Yoga with Adrienne) - those things can't cancel or scam you. Update: Julie reached out to those of us who were affected by this to shame us for leaving negative reviews, and offer lies about the situation. But, she did give a free class coupon, what a deal (can you sense my sarcasm?). Don't support such a clearly dishonest business - there's some GREAT yoga studios in SF who won't lie to you. read more

I've been looking for an outdoor yoga class for awhile, and this was just what I was looking for! The setting was perfect; we set up in the middle of the big meadow in Fort mason park, far enough from people so it's not distracting. And how fun was it to be doing a downward dog and seeing cypress trees and the golden gate from a distance! The class was also very reasonably priced. Looking forward to the next session! read more

I did Silent Disco Yoga at Baker Beach on Sunday and I couldn't believe the amazing atmosphere. The weather couldn't have been better, the view was amazing, and I felt so "one with nature." As for the instructors, they were knowledgable and even used the English and Sanskrit name for each pose. They talked you through every pose, made sure you focused on your breaths (because you know sometimes you forget to breath.) They had the experienced yoga instructors in the front row and the leader was facing sideways in front. You had several examples of how to do each pose. There were people of every level in the class so you didn't feel out of place. I had my little silky terrier because I had her with the beach with me all day. They were very welcoming to her. I was surprised the sound was so good in the headphones they gave us. The wind didn't really effect the sound and the music was perfect. It wasn't your typical zen yoga music but it wasn't distracting. It was definitely something you could jam to and we even had a 3 minute dance session where we all danced together as a group toward the water. There was also a moment where we all gave one person we didn't know a hug and then after we went into a circle and did a group pose. I thought it was a really fun class to do for anyone that enjoys yoga. I think its a requirement to do yoga on the beach at least once in your life. Add it to your bucket list. read more

I NEVER post negative reviews for workouts but when you drive an hour and a half for class and the teacher doesn't show up and you can't reach anyone to figure out why, I'm gonna have to write a bad review. There was about 8-9 of us just waiting around for over 45 minutes without any news or response from the organizers. We tried calling, we tried emailing, we tried their social media. I guess they just decided to cancel the class today without notifying participants. It is also IMPOSSIBLE to reach them. They don't pick up the phone and don't respond to emails (side note: they post daily on their Instagram but if you message them, they're MIA). I'm sure their classes are great from all the reviews but I refuse to pay and sign up for classes that may or may not end up happening. I'm still waiting to hear back from them to find out what happened to class today and hope to receive a refund. They had no problem taking the money and now no one is responding - one girl we met said she just signed up and paid yesterday and was convinced class would be on. Super disappointed and definitely do not recommend - not worth the risk when you can take other classes in SF and know FOR SURE the teacher will show up! I am still in shock how no one communicated or reached out to us. read more

We had Julie come to Facebook for a private session for our team offsite on 10/24. She was so easy to work with prior to the event, quick responses and answered all of my questions to ensure a perfect event! Julie and her team set up on the rooftop, and was super flexible when we were looking to possibly move the location. We had a team of about 20 people participate in the Silent Disco yoga session. It was a perfect way to unwind from a busy offsite day of meetings, and for the team to relax and get outside. The session was a fun and unique experience, and the entire team loved it! Would recommend Julie again for a team bonding activity in the Bay Area! read more

Outdoor Yoga SF is amazing! I took a class in the East Bay with Katie Clare and it was magical. It ticks all the boxes of healing- mindful movement, in a community of people, outside in beautiful nature- what's not to love?! I would do yoga this way even if it was not a pandemic- but it certainly felt like a safe option during this time. Katie's flow is well paced, with heartfelt cueing, beautiful somatic imagery, anatomically informed, and paired with perfect music. I felt I could be present and in my body in a way that felt safe and healing. I will definitely be attending more of these classes! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Julie with Outdoor Yoga SF! Julie has a sincere heart to serve others through her lively spirit and passion for yoga. I had the sweetest personal session with her while recently visiting SF - it was a class I will not soon forget! After the class she took some stellar photos of me on the beach. I'm a new certified yogi so it was awesome to get advice from her on getting my business up and running. She was incredibly thoughtful, present and eager to help. If that wasn't enough, I also was able to attend her sunset disco class. SO MUCH FUN!! Amazing sequence, great playlist and Julie even incorporated some fun elements (dancing, dipping toes in ocean, etc.) -- I have never experienced anything like this before! This Saturday I was lucky enough to attend Julie's Outdoor Yoga SF class at Baker Beach. Not only was the setting absolutely stunning, the music was so uplifting and Julie lead such a wonderful practice. Not only did we do yoga, but we danced and chanted. Class ended just as the sun was setting and there were pelicans and seals playing the water as the sky light up. I had the most wonderful experience at Silent Disco yoga on Bakers beach. It was at sunset, they played great music and there were such happy vibes.
