Burrito would be a better description. Tortilla y beans were homemade. You can just tell. Lots of bacon and fresh cilantro. So very good. I ate about 1/2. Breakfast tacos! We got so lucky to find this gem on Yelp just before we were at the exit. We had a Pancho Villa & a Crazy Horse. Both were huge. The salsa verde was fabulous! My taco had brisket which I wasn't that impressed with. (Note- I am a foodie & live close to several Texas Monthly ranked BBQ joints in Houston.) However, with the salsa & tons of refried beans & potatoes it might get me all the way to Alpine. I am posting photos of the menu. After eating my taco, I will stick with Mexican food in the future. We have a long drive ahead, but were almost disappointed that we were too early for the extensive lunch menu.We really appreciated the kind young woman at the register. She made our stop 5 star.Unfortunately she is headed back to college on Monday. She shared that the owners are fairly new & also own Polo's Mexican Restaurant in Weatherford. We definitely will make Outlaw a breakfast stop on our drive west in the future. I will get a more traditional taco with eggs next time. I will also ask for an extra salsa verde! Placed an order at 7:30am for 45 breakfast tacos to be picked up by 9:30am. Not only were they ready at exactly the right time - they were fabulous! Cynthia helped load them into my car and gave us several options for salsa to go with them. I highly recommend them for breakfast and their lunch is great too! read more

Stop by every chance I get for breakfast when I'm passing the area. I have to work out that way from Fort Worth once in a while and love the breakfast taco/burrito. Call it in 10 min ahead and in and out fast. New owners are fantastic and better service than ever, never had complaints but I love the new owners are super friendly. Yes, I am a vegetarian writing a review for a BBQ place but hear me out and know I'll be reviewing my breakfast experience here which was wonderful. I was home for the holidays and were it not for my father, I would have had no idea this place existed. After driving back towards their place after running errands Dad took an unannounced detour down a side road and we pulled into Outlaw BBQ. When you walk in, the menu is above the order counter. Figure out what you'll have and place your order there. After a short wait they'll bring your food to you: hot, fresh, amazing. I modified a menu offering and ended up with a potato, egg, bean, jalapeno, and cheese burrito and this monster was super filling and I loved every bite of it. There was a bit of a wait for the food to come out but that's because they made everything fresh and it was totally worth the wait. In a cold case by the entrance were the bottles of salsa and I really enjoyed the green salsa-it was super spicy but with an earthy flavorful finish. This is the kind of local joint you wanna show and tell folks about-the kind of place I will absolutely be stopping back by for breakfast next time I am out at my folks place. If you're in the area, check them out as I promise you won't be disappointed with the breakfast burritos they're cranking out (and bonus: they're served all day)! read more

This had to be the worst BBQ I've had in a very long time. To start off, the kid at the counter was not at all friendly nor helpful with ordering. The menu board was hard to see because all the power was off in the main area as well as the bathroom so that was a bust. Secondly we were told only after we had ordered that it was take out only which would have changed our decision but I'm always down for some good food so I was overlooking everything in hoped that this was going to be awesome. I couldn't have been more wrong, this sliced brisket sandwich was dry and chewy. All the sauce and fixings were in the side even though I asked for them on. The chopped was just the same. Smoke barbecue is either good or it's bad for outlaw barbecue it's really good. You can eat in or take yours to go. I've done both it's always fresh and hot. There's really not a lot I can say about barbecue except that there's is very good. read more

Tried the three meat plate (sliced brisket, ribs and sausage). Only one table occupied at the time and still took 10 minutes to get the food. If I based the score on the brisket alone I would have to give it one star. The brisket was a little dry, but I literally could not taste the smoke. The sausage was OK. The star was the ribs. Flavorful without sauce, tender and moist, and not fall off the bone. From the reviews I had high hopes for the brisket. Maybe it was an off day. read more

This place is really good. We've gone several times. The breakfast burritos are what everyone raved about. I like it. They are humongous and cooked to order. So fresh with good tortillas. Baby had the baked potatoe with barbecue meat, it was loaded, and he really likes it. I have also had the beef tips with gravy and rice. It was pretty good, and I would order it again. Try it! Maybe to go though LOL The reason I give this place a four is the atmosphere. It's dark, dated, and dirty. It looks like they haven't dusted in a million years. But it was worth it. I placed a to go order 3 two meat combos all exactly the same. So not a difficult order and they still couldn't get the order right. Ordered potato salad and beans for sides on all. We were in the area, looking for non-chain options. Outlaw showed up with a 3.5 rating, but few reviews so we decided to try it. Lesson learned: trust Yelp reviews. The place was really less than mediocre. Nasty bathroom (one uni-sex, poorly maintained). Restaurant was not busy, but not clean. Food was reasonably priced, but not very good. The service was fine: order at the counter and they bring it to you. They were out of sweet tea. Sausage and brisket were dry and hard to chew. Lay's Potato Chips in single-serving bags were great. If you want something with your chips, though, consider other options. read more

I give this place 5 stars because where else can you find quality, fast breakfast tacos/burritos in town until 4 pm??? That's right...nowhere! Now they do call them "burritos" here, but let's all be honest...they are just oversized breakfast tacos. Sorry, but I consider a burrito to be nicely sealed and not "poop" out the ends if you will. Granted I could be biased as I grew up around real Mexican food/burritos in Southern California. Nevertheless their breakfast "burritos" are awesome, and quite tasty. We agree with Eric S. My husband said we should have read reviews before we went in. He had chopped brisket, cole slaw and beans, I had a brisket/egg burrito. All I can say is neither of us cared for the food. Our food came piping hot.. We both wondered where the smoke in the BBQ was? Brisket tasted more like roast beef than smoked brisket. Also, I started to get the Minute Maid Lemonade until I saw the color coming out, which was nothing like lemonade, and didn't taste like lemonade. So I got tea instead.. and it wasn't much better.. Drive on over to Bakers Rib - their brisket is awesome! read more

Went there today for lunch and my husband and I ordered a loaded baked potato with smoked sausage, brisket, bacon, cheese..they call it the hoss. First, it took over 20 mins to get our potatoes. You could tell the potatoes were microwaved. You would think they would smoke the potatoes. All in all this is just average bbq...nothing special. read more
