Such a perfect neighborhood bar- everyone is friendly and inclusive, and it's one of my favorite jukeboxes in Cheyenne.

My favorite bar in Cheyenne. I just love the vibes and the live music on the weekends. Jukebox and a pool table. What more could you need?

First, I would love to say that the Bartender was 100% awesome. She mixed drinks perfectly and…read moretended to everyone's needs like a champ! The way she was treated will come up further in my review. As a U.S. Attorney, I've traveled domestically and abroad for nearly 2 decades and been to countless countries and to 4 continents. Saying that, settling into a hotel's small dive bar is usually what helps relax my nerves from the week's work. On 17 May, I stopped in to see a band that I heard about through some mutual acquaintances. I couldn't have been more disappointed with the atmosphere that evening. I spoke to a couple of gals who were there and couldn't have felt more uncomfortable with that interaction. As I moved back to sit at the bar, the ambience was so pleasant with the bartender "Peaches". She was very busy, as I had stated, but she was a cozy welcome that I had come to expect from visiting Cheyenne in the past. As I was there, the locals embraced my presence and was made to feel like one of their own. About 5-6 songs into the band's set, the gals that I spoke with earlier approached the bartender at the rear of the bar. The older lady was very rude to her. That poor girls enthusiasm drained from her face. A couple patrons and myself later determined that the rude gal was the owner and her shadow was some sort of management. For the next several songs, I noticed the atmosphere change from a first person perspective as patrons became rude, demanding and refusing to pay for their drinks, siting the owners tab would cover it. What an embarrassment for a business that had a small crowd that fed off the owners poor attitude. This is unlike anything I've expected in Cheyenne or anywhere else in the world. I'd hope that was an isolated incident. As the next 15-20 minutes passed, several patrons left as a result of the tensions in the atmosphere. Several of us that decided to leave stopped to talk to several folks out on the patio who hadn't experienced the tensions inside. Amongst those folks outside, there were a couple bikers, veterans, a group of ladies that were all laughing it up at one of the bikers hilarious jokes. I asked where another place was that I could go that was casual, welcoming and had a great bartender. Collectively it was decided that we all would go to a place just south of the Wigwam several blocks, tucked behind a couple other bars, this atmosphere was very different and a breath of fresh air. The owner happened to be there and I mentioned Peaches to her. She was very nice! The Wigwam just seemed like some band groupies who were there to hobnob with the owner. The fact that their attitudes were what changed my opinion of the Wigwam was not of anything I'd say was bad. I found a new home away from home at I**'* surrounded by a multitude of lifestyles and experiences. In closing, I'd like to thank Peaches for her hospitality! Stay sweet!

If I owned the place the only thing I would change is not having my servers walk constant laps around the tables. I understand the concept but the restaurant isn't that large and it's a little distracting with a server walking circles around you. But it must work for the place because they have a lot of loyal customers to include me now.

And, oh the food was soooooo good! The staff greets you and helps get you focused on the order. You order and pay and they bring the food to your table. We recommend the "surf and turf" combo we pulled together: - California burger, with avocado and more on top - Tuna burger, atop lettuce and tomatoes with special aioli sauce - and a strawberry shake with whipped cream and real berries Wow what a dinner! Tasted great. Filled us up! Got us to our event on time. We look forward to returning to Cheyenne and visiting with more time to not rush out visit. Thank you, 2 Doors Down!! ----- ----- -----

With that being said, the waitress was on top of our drinks, and the food was some of the best I have ever had! The fountain and bamboo shoots framing the back wall of the bar really pull the place together in a way that you don't find in many other areas of Wyoming. Love it. That is about where the positives end. Remember how I said the ambiance was good? That's true, except for the God-awful music choice that was absolutely blasting over our heads. This isn't some boomer-level complaint about how pop music has degraded into slop AI could recreate either. I enjoyed several of the songs. I'm talking about theme, which whoever sets up the music here seems to have forgotten they work at a sushi restaurant and not the run-down Wendy's down the street. Please, for the love of God, change the station or playlist or whatever to something actually appropriate for the space. I beg you. Pretty much every other aspect about this place desperately needs a revamp and soon. The service was subpar not because of rude waitstaff or neglect, but professionalism is sorely lacking. The bar is treated as a personal hangout space, some employees are uniformed and clean while others are wearing personal clothing that range from ratty to ragged. The tables aren't set properly at all; in our experience here, an order of gyoza was not received with serving plates or chopsticks, which were never offered to begin with. At any sushi restaurant, chopsticks are kind of an obvious inclusion and yes, even people white as ghosts such as myself sometimes possess the dexterity required to manipulate two pieces of wood properly to eat with. The prices are something to be desired given the portions. Feeling somewhat adventurous, we also ordered one of the signature rolls which had a whopping 6 pieces totaling almost twenty dollars. It was plated in a way so gaudy and tacky I could think Gordon Ramsey would have something to say about it Kitchen Nightmares style. We cut it short after that. Overall, it's evident to me at least that this location was decimated by COVID in 2020 and has kept to go and DoorDash orders as its lifeline and will never truly recover into becoming a proper restaurant such as expected of current society. A damn crying shame, as there really is a lot of potential to be known as a local secret spot you'd have to dig for.
