Had dinner here last night. The brisket and turkey were outstanding! They offer 3 sauces: mild, hot, and hot hot. The hot hot lives up to its name! Even too hot for my husband who enjoys hot sauces! Always more than enough and super delicious. I usually order the smoked potato with meat and my toddler loves their smoked ham.

We were looking for a good BBQ joint on our way back to Dallas, but unfortunately, Outlaw BBQ was a disappointment. Perhaps we're spoiled by Pecan Lodge, but Outlaw BBQ's brisket was dry and without flavor and the cheddar sausage had an odd, beef jerkesque taste. The ribs were not terrible but were nothing special and the cole slaw was too sweet. The potato salad and beans were just fine but that couldn't make up for the lack of good meat. read more

Just passing through Mount Pleasant on our way out of state and decided we'd better get some good ol' Texas BBQ before we left. Had to venture quite a ways off the interstate, but boy was it worth it. I got brisket and sausage while my wife got a brisket sandwich. Both were overflowing and so tasty, we were really impressed. Been here to eat many times. Have gotten take out BBQ from here as well. Very, very tasty! My "go to" is a pulled pork sandwich topped with slaw, hot sauce, and BBQ sauce. A meal all on its own! Drippn' off your chin delicious! If you're in the mood for "Q", you really gotta give Outlaw's a try! The location is at the junction of two one way/main roads, a west bound 3 lane hwy (49), and a one way south bound coming out of down town (W Ferguson Rd) , so it's not "simple" to get into. You either have to be west bound on 49 and enter right after you go under the railroad tracks, or be coming south out of down town and the entrance is on your left right before 49. Leaving, you really have no choice but to get onto 49, either E bound at the light, or W bound right out of their parking lot. read more

Visited Mount Pleasant for a basketball tournament today and stopped here for lunch with my family. Brisket was moist. Jalapeno cheddar sausage had excellent flavor. Beans and potato salad were on point too. These guys definitely know what they're doing. read more

Went there yesterday with my son. He had the ribs and sausage, I had the chopped beef brisket. The food was good, great flavor, their sauces are very good too. Sides tasted like they sat a little too long though. Paid $33 for the two entrees with drinks, maybe a little high for BBQ. All in all, I would recommend. read more

The sauce is fantastic, and the meat itself is flavorful and has a good consistency. This is a must stop place if you're passing through Some kind of sorcery seems to be involved with the sides. the mash potatoes have the home made flavor that I haven't found anywhere else and always seem to disappear faster than you intended. I have to agree with other reviewers- this BBQ rivals any that I have had in Central Texas. Very wEll smoked not grilled. Simply an excellent BBQ. I had brisket and pork ribs, wife had chopped beef sandwich. The chopped beef was moist and flavorful, didn't even add any sauce to the sandwich. Plus she thought that the sandwich was huge for the $5.99 price. "They didn't skimp on the meat at all". My brisket was the same with great smoke rings on the meat. While cut a little thick, looking back I am not sure they could have cut it much thinner and have it stay together. The pork ribs had a great Smokey flavor and plenty of meat. I got Cole slaw and cucumber salad. The slaw was sweet, and the cucumbers were pickled just right. I use dill in my cuke salad, they don't . We didn't get a dessert; just no room. A seriously good meal for a very fair price. This is a come backer restaurant! read more

This food was excellent. The service was good however they did inform me that the hot sauce was hot and had a complaint about it being to hot. All I need to say is the hot sauce was great I added two jalapeños with it. It would need to be a lot hotter to be to hot.
