Careful here, they tend to "oversmoke" their barbecue....food tastes fine....but you will belch BBQ smoke for at least one day...most likely two. I live nearby....have tried both locations......Won't be back to either. read more

Outlaws has delicious food and their staff is super friendly! I have tried their chopped beef and 4 different sides that they offer. The beef is delicious and you get a large portion, even if you order a sandwich! All 4 sides were delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who comes to Mount Pleasant! Their BBQ is so greatly cooked it'll just all of the bones on their ribs and the other BBQ products which is very tender so they are REALLY GREAT as well!! The staff is real nice and helpful! They keep the place clean too! So if your looking for some great food while traveling and your passing by Mount Pleasant, Texas off of the interstate I-30 East take the exit it is only 2.5 miles from the interstate highway ( Exit# 160 onto US-271, then in 0.3 miles turn onto W. Traveling back from Broken Bow we stopped for lunch at Outlaw BBQ after reading some Yelp reviews. We weren't disappointed. This little unassuming BBQ joint won our hearts and our appetites. The smoke smell was wonderful, the place was very clean and the service was friendly and helpful. We all ordered chopped BBQ beef sandwiches and the meat was flavorful and the portions generous. The assortments of sides we had included baked beans, cole slaw, cucumber salad and cheesy potatoes and they were very good. The iced tea was perfect and we all left happy and full. Forced to spend an evening in Mt Pleasant. Outlaws is listed online as basically the only quality dining option in town. Yes the barbecue is superb and the place is very laid back. Its the incredible high quality house brewed craft beer that steals the show. 7 different NON IPA beers are available and they're off the chart delicious. Owner/brewer is onto something very special. This place is great. So I was on the road and thought hey we will try this place. Looks and feels like authentic Texas BBQ house. Now down to taste vegetables were fresh. We got sliced beef and sausage great flavor but not overpowering. But I like it smokey. Portions were excellent if I can quit picking at it I may have enough for a sandwich tomorrow. I live in McKinney and we have great BBQ around there. This ranks very high. I never rate a 5 but the people working here made this place over the top. We split the sampler plate and the meats were very tender. The brisket, pulled pork and the turkey you could cut with a fork and had nice flavor. Sausage was excellent. The ham was my least favorite. As I left to pick up my food I saw a dominos driver in the drive thru. What kind of place eats others people food which made me think is there something wrong with theirs. So I went home and checked my food. Is was burnt and distasteful I called the store and cashier said there was no manager on duty and there was nothing they could do about it.
