3/23/24. Best barbecue I've ever had. Brisket was moist and had a perfect bark. Ribs were fork tender (fell completely off the bone), beans were fantastic smoky and sweet. Pickled peppers to top it off. No sauce needed. The staff were so helpful as I've never been here before, I asked for their recommendation and they said "two meat beef and rib." Old school cafe here.

Some of the best BBQ I have ever had!! Oh my gosh, it was so so good. The sides were also delicious!! The potatoes surprised me. They looked 'different' but were very tender and had an amazing flavor. This is the best BBQ in Mt. Pleasant and all around. I am sure of it. My husband and I are already ready for more!

Current health inspector grade is an A. The last grade was an A. Best BBQ in town. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. Excellent baked potato. Often too much fat left on brisket I'd like for them to completely trim off the fat but the flavor is top notch. read more

Large portions but taste was only worth 3-stars in my opinion. I'm not local - but pass thru regularly and try lots of different places. Maybe I hit Outlaws on a bad day, but I think Randy's BBQ in New Boston is better. Certainly better bbq sauce! read more

Great chopped brisket sandwich. Lunch plate comes with sandwich plus your choice of two sides (I think it was $7.99). We ate lunch at 1:00 and I was pretty much full for the rest of the day. Show up hungry if you come here! read more

The moment we stepped from the car, we knew we had made the correct choice to partake of their smoked carnivorous goodness. The meat was delicious- a blend of woods gave a rich depth to the smokiness. Two choices of sauces- Hot as Fire and "Extraordinary" according to the fun loving staff- who informed us "we don't serve anything 'regular' here." Outlaws has delicious food and their staff is super friendly! I have tried their chopped beef and 4 different sides that they offer. The beef is delicious and you get a large portion, even if you order a sandwich! All 4 sides were delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who comes to Mount Pleasant! In my opinion, I'd be willing to travel to eat here. read more

Careful here, they tend to "oversmoke" their barbecue....food tastes fine....but you will belch BBQ smoke for at least one day...most likely two. I live nearby....have tried both locations......Won't be back to either. read more

Traveling back from Broken Bow we stopped for lunch at Outlaw BBQ after reading some Yelp reviews. We weren't disappointed. This little unassuming BBQ joint won our hearts and our appetites. The smoke smell was wonderful, the place was very clean and the service was friendly and helpful. We all ordered chopped BBQ beef sandwiches and the meat was flavorful and the portions generous. The assortments of sides we had included baked beans, cole slaw, cucumber salad and cheesy potatoes and they were very good. The iced tea was perfect and we all left happy and full. Great job Outlaw BBQ, now we know why you're so wanted! read more

This is a MUST go place if you want the BEST BBQ around the whole area!! Their BBQ is so greatly cooked it'll just all of the bones on their ribs and the other BBQ products which is very tender so they are REALLY GREAT as well!! The staff is real nice and helpful! They keep the place clean too! So if your looking for some great food while traveling and your passing by Mount Pleasant, Texas off of the interstate I-30 East take the exit it is only 2.5 miles from the interstate highway ( Exit# 160 onto US-271, then in 0.3 miles turn onto W. Ferguson RD toward Dangerfield, TX go 2.2 miles then make a u-turn then 305 ft its on your right at 100 W. Ferguson RD, Mt. Pleasant, TX 75455 )!! You won't be upset if you stop there to get some really great food!! read more

Forced to spend an evening in Mt Pleasant. Outlaws is listed online as basically the only quality dining option in town. Yes the barbecue is superb and the place is very laid back. Its the incredible high quality house brewed craft beer that steals the show. 7 different NON IPA beers are available and they're off the chart delicious. Owner/brewer is onto something very special. Do not miss this gem in Mt Pleasant, great food and even greater beer. read more

Had amazingly good BBQ here during a recent stop in Mt Pleasant. I had a brisket and ribs combo, and was surprised at how much meat I was given. The brisket was moist and tender, and the ribs juicy and flavorful. Living in Texas, there is a lot of competition for good barbecue, but this place is definitely among the best! read more

This place is great. So I was on the road and thought hey we will try this place. Looks and feels like authentic Texas BBQ house. Now down to taste vegetables were fresh. We got sliced beef and sausage great flavor but not overpowering. But I like it smokey. Portions were excellent if I can quit picking at it I may have enough for a sandwich tomorrow. I live in McKinney and we have great BBQ around there. This ranks very high. I never rate a 5 but the people working here made this place over the top. They make feel at home well as at home as you can get outside your own home. read more

A traditional Texas BBQ restaurant. Good brisket, good sausage, plenty of sides to choose from. I absolutely love their BBQ beans, so make sure to get that as one of your sides. They offer a family pack (4 buns, brisket, 2 sides) which feeds my family. They have a traditional BBQ sauce and a hot BBQ if you want to spice things up. read more

Super friendly and welcoming staff, clean bathrooms and restaurant, and most importantly fantastic food. As I left to pick up my food I saw a dominos driver in the drive thru. What kind of place eats others people food which made me think is there something wrong with theirs. So I went home and checked my food. Is was burnt and distasteful I called the store and cashier said there was no manager on duty and there was nothing they could do about it. Rating this place one star is too much in opinion they don't even deserve half a star. Poor restaurant. read more

We split the sampler plate and the meats were very tender. The brisket, pulled pork and the turkey you could cut with a fork and had nice flavor. Sausage was excellent. The ham was my least favorite. The baked beans and potato salad were also very good. I tried the medium spicy BBQ sauce and it extremely hot. Wish I had of stayed with the basic one. read more

Visited this place because of the reviews it has. The Bbq sauce was a real disappointment it tasted close to McDonald's bbq sauce. I bought a fountain drink only to find that the Coke was flat so I had to get lemonade instead. read more

Oh my goodness - it was so so yummy! The meat was tender, the cilantro and onion were fresh, and the green sauce added an extra touch! The ladies up front were also very kind and happy to serve! I can't wait to try this location again soon!

The Best Smoked Brisket ANYWHERE!!! As soon as you open the door the Wonderful Smoked Meat aroma hits you and you know its good!! Had an opportunity to go back to Mt. Pleasant where my father was from to see some family. Decided to take BBQ for lunch and happened upon Outlaws. All meat was wonderful, brisket, sausage, turkey and ribs. Beans were incredible as was potato salad. People were very friendly as well. I would highly recommend this place! read more

Outlaws is a must stop! Great food and better service. Brought a whole basketball team in and had them in and out in no time. Kids have already asked to eat at Outlaws on the way home. If you are come through Mount Pleasant, don't miss out on some GREAT BBQ! read more
