Two men followed me into the restroom, pinned me down with their elbows on my throat, and threatened me. I was able to get away and reported the incident to the owner. I was disappointed with the response and felt my concerns were dismissed. Based on my experience, I did not feel safe at this establishment and would advise others to use caution. read more

I started going here a couple times a month for lunch when I saw they had food. I was very impressed with the food. You have to try the homemade ketchup. The service was always pleasant and attentive. You can see that this is a place that locals dig because the bartenders know a lot of the customers names. There are also pool tables and TVs to watch sports. If I had to knock the place for anything it would be it's bathrooms (need major renovations) and they don't carry my favorite beer (local brewer "Institution"). read more

was there playing in pool league. The owner was drunk and swapping stories about choking people out. Someone made a comment about us playing a league match to the bartender. The owner over heard this and ended up telling one of the pool players he could never come back. The pool player did nothing and said nothing. The owner (Jerry) was drunk and acting macho to impress the other people he was drinking with. Now because the Owner was drunk, someone is never allowed back in the for doing nothing. Even after the pool player got kicked out, the pool player did not yell and was respectful. So if you want to hang out in a bar where the drunk owner will yell at you and kick you out so he can act macho, this is the bar for you. If not the are two other bars with in a block were the owners and bartenders are respectful. read more

For drinks, great place to get your thirst quenched. For food, actually not too bad either. I opted for birria tacos, chicken mulita and fried pickles. The mulita was hands down the favorite with a close second on the birria tacos. The fried pickles were stringy shaped, all different sizes resulting in inconsistent bites and taste. I showed up at this bar with my legit service animal. the bar tender was rude and cussed me out screaming at me to get the fuck out of his bar. the police were called but because service animals fall under federal law and not local law there was nothing they could but record the incident. plan to file a complaint with the Americans with disability Act. and contact the owner of the bar. my four other patrons and I will never return to this half full dive bar again. Accidentally ended up in the city of Camarillo so of course our first mission was to find a good dive bar. Google sent us here and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. We came in for cocktails Friday night and Patrick was serving up drinks. He was so friendly and we had such a great time we came back the next day. Talk about Sunday Funday! Jojo was serving up the cocktails with a smile and the best personality. We met so many amazing regulars who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I can't forget to mention Ricky. I think he was the barback. Ricky was frickin awesome. We meant to have one drink then go but that turned into 6 hrs cuz we just didn't want to leave. This place is NOT familiar with the ADA law. Hopefully they do the right thing by learning about it and following through with how to treat people with disabilities and their service dogs. I crossed the street after my certified service dog was and I were told we are not allowed in take 5. I know that when I've been in take five before they always laugh about calling across the street and telling them what was going on if someone left there got kicked out of there and they would do the same thing kick the same person out did take five call outlaws? He catered my office return to work luncheon for 122 people and the employees can't stop talking about how great everything was...beans and rice were excellent too! This is the place where my coworkers and I usually go to Fridays & Saturdays after work. Their happy hour specials are good and they have a good selection of drafts. There's pool tables, karaoke, and lots of TV screens if you're a big SPORTS FAN. We go there for lunch as well- and may I suggest the patty melt or the grilled cheese sandwich. I really like the changes the new owner has made inside. It's a lot more open with the tall tables and booths in the middle of the room removed. The food that I've tried has been pretty good for bar food. I had the chicken strips which has a breading that's like fish-n-chips. Tasty. I also tried a wrap with the green spinach tortilla. Pretty good and a healthy choice. I don't eat a lot of fries so I usually give mine to my brother. I've only been on Tuesday nights after my brother's basketball games. The people have been very nice to us and the place is family friendly. There are pool tables and kareoke, haven't used either. Also Tuesday nights are ladies nights, so drinks for them are cheaper. Not too shabby. Now if they crowd got a little more interesting it might be even better but it works great for my brother's team and their families. Pretty reasonable prices all around. read more

From my experience it's typically mixed from 21-50ish, it's a much cooler local bar than any in Ventura, and the people that work there are pretty cool too. I am simply appalled with my experience at Outlaws earlier today. They should change their name to "Bullies", because every time I go there that's all I see. A bunch of moronic bullies. But, I'll be fair and write about some of the good things first... The drinks are reasonably priced and a stronger pour than most bars. Sometimes, there are good bands that do a decent job covering classic rock music. Those things I appreciate. I went outside for a smoke and a mediocre early evening at a dumpy bar and grill got ugly very quick... A young lady had parked in what looked like a defunct handicap spot and she got out of her car and started walking towards the pharmacy next door. Holding her hand was a young man that appeared to have some type of mental disability. He reminded me of my grandson that has Autism. The bouncer (ID checker) and a few young gals started hollering at her to move her car because that parking spot was for handicaps. The mother ignored them and rushed her son into the pharmacy. I wasn't even done with my cigarette before she came back out of the pharmacy to find an Outlaws employee taking photos of her car. She told him to stop because she has a place card hanging up and what sounded like a threat to me he said, "you better hope you do". My dinner was ready, I went back in and had the worst cup of soup I've ever had and some cold greasy fries. Drank another Jack and Coke and felt unsettled about what that man had said to that woman. About 15 minutes went by. Then I hear a woman yelling from outside and holding a blue handicap place card out the window of her car. She was visibly upset and cursing her mouth off at the same employee that was taking photos of her and her car earlier. She was telling at him about how damaging that was to her son and how she felt harassed. So, I stepped aside for another smoke and to also watch what was happening. The way that little jerk talked to that woman was absolutely appalling. Then he (the ID checker) and a couple of young ladies started ganging up on her, telling her she was crazy and was over-reacting (I think she under-reacted considering) and the ID checking bully told her to get lost. It was just pure meanness and for what? Because the guy checking IDs is too dumb and immature to admit treating people with disabilities (and their caregivers) like second class citizens is wrong? If that's the mentality and culture of Outlaws employees and their regulars, then I want nothing to do with that lot. It was so upsetting I had to leave and eat dinner somewhere else. This wasn't the first time I have seen the employees and regulars picking on people. After today boy, they won't see another dime of my pension. read more

I've heard some people tell me not to go here cuz of the riff raff that hang out here. (I'm new so I was looking around) I come from El Paso TX where riff raff and I get along perfect seeing that I am Riff Raff, so I decided to go anyway. Man, this place is very cool. Place looks nice, people there are nice (far from the riff raff described) and bartenders are nice. It's only about 3 miles from home so excellent place to hang for me. I was expecting the beer prices to be a bit lower but they weren't bad. (I still don't understand the $3.50 happy hour prices. I come from $0.75 -$2 happy hour land!) I can't say anything about food though, I was there to drink and listen to a good band play. Maybe next time I'll eat there. All in all this is a chill place to hang out. Mixture of people. I didn't run into snobs or Varsity-type drunks or roughnecks. I will be returning here very soon and perhaps make it my hangout. read more
