Loved this place! Came before Christmas and it was popping and busy! The vibe was perfect. The bartender provided great service and was very attentive and helpful. The Wallflower was my favorite drink I tried but everything was delicious. Will definitely be back soon!

Stopped by with friends, and it's such a lovely little bar well-deserving of its name - The Local. Feels like it's a hidden little gem that really only locals go to. Great cocktails and beer options. Love a good cider, and it was nice to see some good options on tap. Their pineapple cider was delish. Hubs also loves whiskey, so it was fun to see that they do a mystery whiskey of the week. Good location to catch up with friends or watch a sporting event. Will definitely be back!

There was a dj playing great musics , lots of dancing & singing!! There was a food stand outside the bar , tacos 5 kinds and quesadillas. National Irish Coffee Day!! HAD to arrive at Noon for their opening. Mikey was just unlocking the door. I told him I was just happy to be here and to take his time setting up. But the whirlwind that he is he immediately started searching for Crème de Menthe that I had messaged asking him about. I love seeing a little green swirl on top of an Irish Coffee, though few places still do that. I'm old school. Mikey found the Crème de Menthe and all was good in the world! (Even the LA Fires are subsiding.) Moments after I arrived many others piled in. Lots of laughter and recognition among friends. I just need to get down here more often. Love this place!!

How can you rate this anything less than 5 stars? The Local is the hidden hole in the wall that you want to gatekeep but also let everyone know how great it is! Shoutout to Melissa L. for putting me on, I mean $10 cocktails and Guinness on tap? Legendary Everyone is so nice and welcoming, and the lilac wine cocktail blew me away with how nice it looked, not overly sweet, floral, and with nice balance between the wine and gin, you wouldn't think it works together, but sit down and find out for yourself!

B I G shoutout to Melissa L. for putting The Local on my radar. This bar is tucked away in an unassuming shopping plaza in a quiet neighborhood, but once you walk in, you know you're in for a good time. I've always been a fan of dive bars and have been to quite a few, but this bar stands out in so many great ways. Right after walking in, you can see that The Local has so many locals -- everyone knows everyone and is having a great time. The atmosphere is lively, fun, and welcoming to anyone new. Not only does The Local have great beer on tap, they also specialize in craft cocktails! There's a variety to choose from, they all look beautiful, and I'd say they'd rival high-end bars. I've tried a few, and as a non Whiskey drinker, I was surprised to say Honey 4 my Honey is my favorite so far. All of the bartenders I've met so far are awesome, especially Victor and Jen. They are great at what they do and they have fun banter with the locals. Even the owner, Mikey, takes time to chat and is so passionate about his bar. The last thing that makes The Local my go-to bar now is that it is c l e a n! I love that I can walk around without having my shoes stick to the floor and that I can actually use the restroom when I need to. If you've ever been to even one dive bar, you'd know what I mean. Besides the above, they have a must-have pool table and a few other table games. While the actual bar isn't too big, I can see it getting packed, so if you're planning a visit with a larger group, plan ahead to snag a table and I'll see ya there! *Hot tip: while there isn't food served here, you can order food delivered to The Local and enjoy it there!

I just want to say this place is an absolute gem! Came in for a drink and was lucky enough to catch a UFC fight. The atmosphere was so nice that it just made you feel like a LOCAL. The bartender was on her game and definitely loves what she does. I will be back more than once!

Loved it ! Great service ! Gorgeous drinks! So happy Melissa L. Introduced me to this place. Located at in a very unassuming spot but the vibe inside is awesome! Owner is super friendly and lively! I def will recommend. I most def like this place over another cocktail bar in Ventura ( off Main Street). Prices are more affordable and service is on point. My drink was $13!!! No food here but you can get it delivered or from Next door!!!

    Sooooo yummy! Addicting!

Such a gem! Fun crowd, amazing drinks, super cute vibe, really sweet bartenders. It's small but so, so fun! $10 drinks on Wednesdays, FYI! Get the espresso martini, it's AMAZING!!

Cute local bar!! Great drinks excellent service. I love how personable the staff are. We felt like regulars although it was our very first visit. Love the menu options and I can't wait to another girls day at this spot.

There is no better place with the combination of ambience, service, and excellent craft cocktails and wide selection of beer. They are food friendly, and you can bring in anything from anywhere. Or Friday and Saturdays they usually bring in a local food provider that is well picked and well suited for pub food. Both the owner and the staff are incredible. It is our favorite place. Great for sports, hanging out, first dates and after work, relaxation.

My 700th Review hands down has to go to The Local. Not only is it the best bar in all of the 805, it's also probably my favorite establishment in Ventura Co. as the vibes are always right and the cocktails are perfection. I've only taken this long to review The Local because I never felt that I could do this bar justice in a review but here is my best attempt. The local is located in Camarillo Springs - Camarillo and has been open for 5 years now. It's off the beaten path but word of mouth has spread that this is the best Irish Bar EVER so thankfully people come from all over the place to cozy up to the bar and to check it out for themselves. I'm always impressed when I meet new people at the bar and they tell me from how far they traveled to give this spot a try. I'm blessed to be a real "local" of the Local, but if I wasn't I'd surly make the trip as this bar has fantastic cocktails, beyond talented bartenders, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. If your a fan of a dive or a higher end cocktail bar The Local meets both demands. I'm more a dive bar kinda gal myself and I love the vibes here. The interior is dark and cozy, yet welcoming. It's a classic neighborhood dive were everyone knows each other and If your a newbie your instantly treated like a friend. However, the cocktails here can always compete with any 5 star trendy bar as they have a huge variety of liquors & unique ingredients to customize your cocktails to your liking. They have an extensive cocktail menu with the classics but also some really unique sips that keep me coming back for more. The staff here are the best. Mikey is the owner and he doesn't need much of an introduction. Everyone loves Mikey and if you give this spot a try you'll likely find him here behind the bar, ready to welcome you and be prepared for him to strike up a conversation with you. Again, regardless If your a newbie or an OG, your treated like family. All of the staff & bartenders here are lovely. Quality people work here and they definitely deserve your business. They are passionate mixologists and turn out delish drinks every time. Oh and don't forget the craft beers on tap! The Local always has an awesome selection of beers and they rotate daily/weekly so it's fun knowing you can always try something new. I've learned a lot about different beers, ciders, and seltzers after drinking here over the years. Just some extra bonuses before I wrap up my review (if I haven't sold you already): this bar is super clean & a comfortable hangout spot, they allow you to get food delivered so it's foodie friendly, they have a nice spacious bar and a good amount of tables inside, the prices can't be beat for the quality of the drinks, and most importantly it's a fun yet safe spot to grab a drink with some friends. The Local is a true gem and the 805 is lucky to have this bar. It's my favorite spot to drink and to have a good laugh, I hope you'll try this spot soon and I'll see you there!

I really like the concept of hyper-local where even the fisherman gets a shoutout by name on the menu, but I think the presentation and execution fell flat. I'm not sure if a larger group or different menu items would have landed differently but my fish ended up a bit rubbery and overcooked. The other dishes were very underwhelming, and it was really tough to get the attention of my server. When it came time to pay, they offered me a pen which didn't work, then when I asked for another one, it didn't work, and finally I asked a bus boy who gave me 5 pens which 4/5 didn't work. I felt so awkward having to do so much to get anyone's attention, and then to be offered a total of 6 non functioning pens and one barely functional one.

My friends and I were sitting in a booth near the karaoke stage when my purse and white sweater accidentally slipped into the gap between the booth and the wall. Apparently, this gap contains part of the karaoke power setup, because the karaoke briefly stopped working when my belongings fell into it. If that area is truly that critical, it seems like a serious oversight that it is left completely uncovered and accessible to customers. The way the situation was handled was completely unacceptable. The karaoke DJ, Eric, came over to retrieve my belongings. Instead of simply placing them back on the booth seat or handing them to me, he threw my purse and sweater onto the floor while yelling at me and my friends. As a result, a bottle of perfume inside my purse shattered, my belongings were scattered, my purse was damaged, and my white sweater was dirtied. What bothered me most was not the accident itself, but the level of hostility and aggression directed toward me over something that was clearly unintentional. At no point was there any attempt to calmly explain the issue or address the situation respectfully. Instead, I was publicly embarrassed and treated as though I had done something wrong rather than accidentally dropping belongings into an exposed gap in the seating area. I was genuinely shaken by the interaction. In all my years of going to bars, restaurants, concerts, and other public venues, I have never had an employee throw my personal belongings on the ground while yelling at me. The response from management was equally disappointing. When two of my friends approached management to express concern about what had happened, they were threatened with being removed from the bar rather than having their concerns taken seriously. I understand that technical issues can be frustrating and that mistakes happen. What I do not understand is why a customer was subjected to that kind of treatment over an accidental incident that could have been handled with a simple conversation. The entire experience was humiliating, unnecessary, and completely avoidable. I hope management takes a serious look at both the exposed setup near the karaoke stage and the conduct of the staff involved, because no customer should be treated this way. If anyone from Whiskey Richard's would be willing to contact me further, I'd genuinely appreciate it.

The ambiance has a perfect speakeasy vibe with its dim lighting and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to just hang out and grab a quality drink. The cocktail program here is absolutely phenomenal. I am pretty picky when it comes to whiskey, and since Manhattans are my absolute favorite, my expectations were high. They mixed an incredible Manhattan that was perfectly balanced with the right sweet vermouth, and their Old Fashioneds are crafted with an attention to detail that really lets the spirits shine through. We also ordered a few Paper Planes, and they were dangerously good, hitting that perfect sweet and sour note that makes you want to immediately order another round. Having been here many times over the past decade, I've discovered some great bourbons, scotches, and had some great cocktails. But those days are unfortunately in years past. In a place that prides itself in its whisky, the bartenders are sorely lacking in their knowledge around their own bar. With an extensive selection, I don't expect them to know everything, but bartenders not knowing what is meant by a neat pour (straight out of the bottle into the glassware, no ice, and not mixed) was unexpected. I'm getting the impression that while they still mix old fashioneds, a scotch such as Ardbeg is now an unusual and baffling request. I've been here a handful of times in the past few months, and it can be lively or dead, but it's now just any other bar.
