Didn't give this spot a proper chance. Online it says cocktail bar but my friend and I walked into a sports dive bar with only beers available. I looked around for a cocktail menu, but was unable to find one. We also felt very out of place, as this seems to be a strong spot for regulars. The lady behind the bar also seemed surprised that we were there. I'm not much into dive bars or sports bars, so the loud music and tvs ruined the experience in my experience. I was expecting a quieter location based on previous reviews and photos. All in all, I was caught off guard during my first visit but I'm willing to come back. We came in on a Wed night for my bday. We lucked out with the sweetest bartender. Each drink was a work of art--and just as thirst-quenching. We ordered food from an Indian restaurant and had it delivered to the bar. Love that you can do that here. Definitely give them a try! read more

Cool local neighborhood bar located in Camarillo Springs. Large parking lot but it is shared with a soccer field so can be hard to find parking depending on time. There is no food served at this location but plenty of food/snacks available from outside vendors or liquor store next door. Now the drinks...selection is amazing. From mixed drinks, huge craft beer selection and yes there is wine. The mixed drinks are my favorite since they are really good. Mai tai or any rum drinks are a must here. Stopped by with friends, and it's such a lovely little bar well-deserving of its name - The Local. Feels like it's a hidden little gem that really only locals go to. Great cocktails and beer options. Wow !!!! This place is so much fun !!! They went all out for Halloween ! They had drink specials menu and made these cute cool drinks ! There was a dj playing great musics , lots of dancing & singing!! There was a food stand outside the bar , tacos 5 kinds and quesadillas. First timer to The Local. While I came thinking I was gonna do cocktails; the vibes of this place feel more divey and I went for a sour instead after work. Not sure if this is my vibe for a cocktail-- but for sure for a beer! Has a pool table, and also if you happen to bring your laptop-- you could borrow WiFi from nearby or use your hotspot to do some emails. Lots of parking since it's in a strip mall. National Irish Coffee Day!! HAD to arrive at Noon for their opening. Mikey was just unlocking the door. I told him I was just happy to be here and to take his time setting up. But the whirlwind that he is he immediately started searching for Crème de Menthe that I had messaged asking him about. I love seeing a little green swirl on top of an Irish Coffee, though few places still do that. I'm old school. Mikey found the Crème de Menthe and all was good in the world! (Even the LA Fires are subsiding.) Moments after I arrived many others piled in. Lots of laughter and recognition among friends. I just need to get down here more often. Love this place!! read more

This bar is tucked away in an unassuming shopping plaza in a quiet neighborhood, but once you walk in, you know you're in for a good time. I've always been a fan of dive bars and have been to quite a few, but this bar stands out in so many great ways. Right after walking in, you can see that The Local has so many locals -- everyone knows everyone and is having a great time. The atmosphere is lively, fun, and welcoming to anyone new. Not only does The Local have great beer on tap, they also specialize in craft cocktails! There's a variety to choose from, they all look beautiful, and I'd say they'd rival high-end bars. I've tried a few, and as a non Whiskey drinker, I was surprised to say Honey 4 my Honey is my favorite so far. All of the bartenders I've met so far are awesome, especially Victor and Jen. They are great at what they do and they have fun banter with the locals. Even the owner, Mikey, takes time to chat and is so passionate about his bar. The last thing that makes The Local my go-to bar now is that it is c l e a n! I love that I can walk around without having my shoes stick to the floor and that I can actually use the restroom when I need to. If you've ever been to even one dive bar, you'd know what I mean. Besides the above, they have a must-have pool table and a few other table games. My 700th Review hands down has to go to The Local. Not only is it the best bar in all of the 805, it's also probably my favorite establishment in Ventura Co. as the vibes are always right and the cocktails are perfection. I've only taken this long to review The Local because I never felt that I could do this bar justice in a review but here is my best attempt. The local is located in Camarillo Springs - Camarillo and has been open for 5 years now. It's off the beaten path but word of mouth has spread that this is the best Irish Bar EVER so thankfully people come from all over the place to cozy up to the bar and to check it out for themselves. I'm always impressed when I meet new people at the bar and they tell me from how far they traveled to give this spot a try. I'm blessed to be a real "local" of the Local, but if I wasn't I'd surly make the trip as this bar has fantastic cocktails, beyond talented bartenders, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. If your a fan of a dive or a higher end cocktail bar The Local meets both demands. I'm more a dive bar kinda gal myself and I love the vibes here. The interior is dark and cozy, yet welcoming. It's a classic neighborhood dive were everyone knows each other and If your a newbie your instantly treated like a friend. However, the cocktails here can always compete with any 5 star trendy bar as they have a huge variety of liquors & unique ingredients to customize your cocktails to your liking. They have an extensive cocktail menu with the classics but also some really unique sips that keep me coming back for more. The staff here are the best. Mikey is the owner and he doesn't need much of an introduction. Everyone loves Mikey and if you give this spot a try you'll likely find him here behind the bar, ready to welcome you and be prepared for him to strike up a conversation with you. Again, regardless If your a newbie or an OG, your treated like family. All of the staff & bartenders here are lovely. Quality people work here and they definitely deserve your business. They are passionate mixologists and turn out delish drinks every time. Oh and don't forget the craft beers on tap! The Local always has an awesome selection of beers and they rotate daily/weekly so it's fun knowing you can always try something new. I've learned a lot about different beers, ciders, and seltzers after drinking here over the years. Just some extra bonuses before I wrap up my review (if I haven't sold you already): this bar is super clean & a comfortable hangout spot, they allow you to get food delivered so it's foodie friendly, they have a nice spacious bar and a good amount of tables inside, the prices can't be beat for the quality of the drinks, and most importantly it's a fun yet safe spot to grab a drink with some friends. What a cozy fun bar this is. Went out with some friends the other night and had a great time here. They have fun games you can play on the tables or you can bring your own if you want. The bartender was really friendly and the place is nicely decorated for the Saint Patrick's holiday. Great specials also! This might seem odd, but is worth noting. I couldn't get over how great the bar and even the bathroom smelled. I don't even think my house smells this good. That is a nice change of pace from your typical bars that smell dingy and like tears of regret. I only wish this place was larger, I can easily see this place getting packed. I appreciate that they offer craft beers and a wide selection of mixed drinks, and the bartenders are exceptionally skilled. The service is outstanding. I spoke with both the male and female bartenders who were incredibly knowledgeable about the craft beers they have in stock and astonishingly efficient mixologists; there were rarely any significant waits for drinks. I thoroughly enjoy this bar. The music is always great, ranging from hip-hop to country and other genres, and it always keeps the crowd engaged. I particularly appreciate the bartenders' attentiveness in responsibly limiting service to customers who appear to have had too much to drink--that is a significant advantage for me, truly showing they care. After the appropiate time she finished the second pull, without the push back. Not much of a problem. The taste was fine but slightly flat, good enough to order a second pint. The owner, originally from Timahoe in County Laois, took over the establishment in 2018 and turned it into an Irish Pub. Worth a visit and good for many more. SUCH FUN COCKTAILS! The bar has an old school vibe with new age drinks. It is a small bar but they have bar seating and tables. I went with my family on a Friday night there was a chill vibe. They have playing cards and poker chips on the tables for you to use if you'd like. It made for a nice place to grab drinks with your family and play some card games.
