A Memorable Taste of Butte's History…read more From the moment we walked into Casasgrandas Steakhouse, the setting felt special. Housed in a rustic copper mining-era building featuring original wood floors and fantastic period decor, the atmosphere effortlessly bridges Butte's rich history with a welcoming, cozy dining environment. The meal kicked off with the included soup and salad courses, both exceptional. The chicken and rice soup was clearly made in-house--wholesome, rich, and comforting. The salad arrived crisp and fresh, topped with crunchy homemade croutons and a bright, zesty citrus poppy seed dressing that was a delightful surprise. For our main courses, we ordered the Top Sirloin with the Shrimp Scampi: * Top Sirloin: Prepared perfectly to order, wonderfully tender, and packed with classic steakhouse flavor. * Shrimp Scampi: The absolute highlight of the evening. It featured five large, succulent prawns swimming in a rich, generous scampi sauce--ideal for dredging the table bread through. The side of pasta in a savory tomato sauce complemented it beautifully. To top off an already fantastic evening, they offered a scoop of huckleberry fudge ice cream for just a dollar. It was the perfect local sweet touch to end on. Overall, Casasgrandas delivered top-tier comfort, incredible value, and a truly memorable dinner. We will definitely be back!

The price was very affordable and each dinner comes with soup and salad and fresh bread and a scoop of ice cream. The steaks we had were excellent cuts of meat and you could tell they took great care with them. I would drive an hour out of my way to eat here again.

Calamari was soggy and oily and the breading was mushy, indicating that the oil was not at the proper temperature for a good fry. We sent it back after trying to pretend it wasn't terrible. I ordered chicken parmesan and my wife got chicken fried steak. Her meal was ok. The gravy needed some flavor but the chicken fried steak was properly cooked. My chicken parm was mushy, and only had a few small shreds of cheese on it. The pasta was woefully over cooked and there wasn't much sauce on it. That was sent back as well. Both our meals were to come with soup but the server dropped that ball and had an inquisitive look on her face when I asked about it as we were paying our bill (she probably accidentally did us a favor). All in all, there is no need to visit this " restaurant" that seems to either take everything out of the bag in the freezer and microwave it, or have large batches of stuff and just warm things up as they are ordered. Nothing appeared to be made in house and quality assurance doesn't live here.

Not sure what happened as this used to be one of our go-to places for steak in the Helena valley. This time it took our waiter nearly ten minutes to check back in. Pretty sure the filet mignon were not filet cuts at all. A thin cut of something with a 1/2 inch of fat/gristle.

Once I saw it on the menu I had to get the GIGANTIC PRETZEL (GP). It was gigantic and it was a pretzel. Great crispy outside and soft warm perfectly cooked inside. Get it, you won't regret it. We all loved it and the queso and hot mustard were a great match. I had the wings, buffalo sauce, and it came with fries. Both were really good. So much food I only ate 4 wings and 1/2 the fries. GP still weighing heavy in my gullet! The Wife had the Classic Mac and Cheese - nice taste but Luke warm instead of hot. Should have sent back to warm up. Her choice. The Kid had the brisket sandwich and garlic parm fries. The sandwich was so big., she ate 1/2 and hardly touched her fries. The fries were delish, as I had to sample a couple for review purposes. The Friend had a Buffalo chicken salad and The Other Friend had enchiladas. Both enjoyed their meals and had leftovers as the servings are generous. Great Time. Great Food. Great Service. Go! Eat Very Well!! HAVE FUN!!!

Place is pretty cool, since it keeps so much of its history, and the service is solid, but the food isn't great. I got a half sandwich and soup of the day, which was a chicken chile verde enchilada soup. The French dip was looking like it was sitting for a while under a heat lamp and semi dried out. Soup wasn't looking much better, and the chicken almost looked like a frozen package. Place is cool and great for watching a game and getting a drink, but don't hold your breath with food quality.

He helped guide our choices without being pushy, and his recommendations were spot-on. For his birthday meal, my husband ordered a steak and I had the salmon--both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Evan checked in at all the right times, making sure everything was just right without ever interrupting the flow of our evening. What really set Evan apart was how he elevated the celebration. He acknowledged my husband's birthday in a genuine, thoughtful way that made the night feel special without being overdone. His attention to detail and friendly, professional demeanor made us feel taken care of from beginning to end. Other customers that perhaps were perceived as bigger paychecks were consistently served before me. At first I sat at the bar to make it easy for the servers. Unfortunately it was only me and I was abandoned after My drink came and no dinner menus came despite being asked and responding that yes, I need them. So, I took my drink and asked to be seated at a table. the table next to me had about 8 people seated after me, and again they were able to order drinks before my waitress came to me. So, looks matter in this restaurant - a lot! That is never a good sign. My waitress is probably in the wrong career as she was brusque and seemed put off at having to serve 1 person. Maybe she was cursed with being German as I am. The wedge salad I ordered was two small wedge pieces instead of the normal 1 large piece and was ok, but underwhelming in both the size and the amount of blue cheese which was a bit sparse. The 6 oz fillet seemed more like 4 and was ok - the baked potato noticeably smaller than most but loaded at least. The restaurant scene is Helena is pitiful, to be honest. Billings is the place in Montana to be for restaurants. Maybe Bozeman or Missoula but unfortunately, the capital is lacking. The martinis were decent but not as good as the windmill in billings.
