So I went into outpost sun sport today and I was looking at bike helmets. I was looking at winter coats different things that were in the store and two employees two males were putting together some patio furniture one jacket that I was interested in the zipper was off track. I asked them to please fix the zipper so I could try it on. Basically they ignored me. Went back to putting the furniture together then I found a sick jacket that I was interested in and it had no tag on it no price tag. I asked them again. Could you please tell me the price on this jacket? I was ignored again. I then stated that was there someone that could help me that I was not going to be a nuisance for because obviously you two are ignoring me and you're putting together patio furniture I've asked to for assistance twice once to fix the zipper of a jacket. I was interested in and the second was to find out the price of a second jacket. I was interested in and both times I was basically shunned ignored and treated very poorly. Once I stated my displeasure and told them I used to be in retail and I would never have treated a customer the way they were treating me. They finally snapped to it and got me the results that I needed. Got me the price on the one jacket and fixed the zipper on the other jacket that was off track very unprofessional. I asked them. Are you more interested in putting the patio furniture together or do you want to make a sale like literally this was ridiculous -10 stars. read more

Came in for the meltdown sale and it was fairly quiet in the store and thought I scored a great deal on a new pair of skis! But nobody offered to help unfortunately so I just found some that fit my height requirements and checked out. I recently went to go buy boots from another ski store and they told me these were junior skis I bought and not adult women skis which I would need. Once reaching out on here, Randy (the owner) reached out and made it right and ensured I got to swap as needed and take care of what I was looking for. I appreciate his help a ton and am much happier with my purchase and grateful he cares enough to ensure his customers are happy! read more

This place is the best in Fort Collins for ski gear. I came here with my family to get all new ski gear and we were so impressed with their selection and fair pricing. The staff was very knowledgeable and kind to us. They put my mom's skis together within a few minutes. At Christy's and Rei they wouldn't be done till the next day. Went in to buy ski boots for my son been skiing a very long time but never bought gear and I go to a ski shop hoping for some education and guidance. The young man that was meant help us as he was on the sales floor was clearly not happy to see us. Granted it was 430 on a Sunday and they close at 5 however I'm a sales person and if I think there may be a sale time and day does not matter. He was rude to us and basically gave us the " you are idiots" vibes and wasn't willing to work with us whatsoever. I asked I assume you are telling us to come back? Yes being the obvious answer. I went to Christy much to my chagrin I was hoping to support local but not this time. Got great service and spent my money there. read more

Disappointed. Our snowboarding boot rentals were two sizes too small. Got lots of push back from the guys at the counter when we explained that they were too tight. They said, "they should be tight, we put you in the right size." Had to get additional snowboarding boots up on the mountain which was a waste of time and money. Wont go back, they did not care to understand our concerns and work to get us the right equipment the first time. read more

The service here is pretty awful. I assume they have enough skiers in the area that even if everyone has a bad experience there will still be someone else to take their place. They routinely lose service tickets, do poor work, and blow you off when you bring it up. If you just want to buy gear this place might be ok, but I wouldn't have anything worked on here. You won't get it back on time, and they won't do a good job. read more

Lucky timing on my part, but I got a great deal here on a used snowboard for my 10 year old. I was looking for a season rental late in the season (which were all gone). One of the employees then mentioned he had just put a out a used board for sale that would possibly be a fit...and yep it worked out great. Got an amazing deal on the board and bindings, basically bought them for the cost of a season rental. They are in really good shape and for my beginner son a great fit. We also got a decent discount on a nice pair of Boa boots for him. Service was great from all three employees I talked to (both when I entered and the two employees running the rental department). We made reservations to get fitted for a seasonal rental over a week in advance. We received email and text reminders for the appointment. When we walk in we are told that they don't have any inventory. But if we come back they will be getting in more. It will also cost $100 more. It is horrible customer service to not have called us to tell us they are out. I had put all specifications on the form online so they had our requirements. Horrible customer service! read more

I came in to buy new snowboard bindings and the customer service was very helpful and able to answer all of my questions. After I bought the bindings I brought them over to the shop with my snowboard and Jackson not only helped me with installation but also walked me thru it and showed me how to do it myself. I was excited to get my snowboard tuned at Outpost, I heard great things. However, after getting the platinum tune up, my board still had gouges in it. I brought it back and explained that I am unsatisfied and I was told that my board would have the gouges filled (that's why I paid extra for the platinum tune up). The man that helped me when I came back to have my board redone and was very degrading. Spoke to me as if I were stupid and never have snowboarded in my life. I was very offended by him belittling me. I stood my ground, since women should not have to be talked down to in this day and age. After arguing my stance for awhile, the shop manager, Bobby, finally came to speak to me and was not very stoked to fix the problem they originally promised. Yet, he did end up filling the gouges. I would NOT recommend going to this shop, since the shop boys are very degrading to women. read more

I've purchased several ski setups and ski boots from Outpost over the past fifteen years. I also attend the annual swaps and appreciate the excellent representation from local ski areas, and the excellent multiday pass deals they offer at these swaps. I've always had a good experience with Outpost Sunsport. Today purchased a new pair of bindings on sale, and requested mounting within a day or two (I'm skiing later this week, and really wanted to try my new setup). Bobby was very accommodating and mounted them today, though he had a full technician workload for the rest of his shift. I much appreciated his willingness to work a little extra, and I am able to now hit the slopes with my new setup. Great gear selection, good prices, and staff that are subject matter experts. The one star here is earned only by virtue of being in Colorado and therefore forced to carry a good selection of equipment. Zero stars for service. I am an advanced skier but don't live in Colorado anymore, which means that every time I come home I go through the same rigmarole with ski shops trying to convince them to kit me up appropriately for my skill level. Outpost was no exception to this self-evaluation skepticism, and fitted 5'7" me with 158 cm skis for demo, saying "You'll at least get the feel for the skis" even though I said they seemed short. I immediately regretted accepting this a few hours later on the mountain as my gnarly speed abilities were significantly hindered by the too-short skis. Not the way to get me to buy expensive equipment from you. Aside from the lackluster demo situation, I also had a terrible experience buying ski boots here. I should have waited until the summer to buy boots for a couple hundred bucks, but instead blew $500 for boots that were fitted by their measurements and were way, way too small. Not having purchased boots for several years, I cautiously believed the salesman who told me that the boots should be quite snug on the toe if the fit was correct. I should have known that this was a terrible idea when that salesman told me that they don't do returns or exchanges usually on ski boots. That's a huge red flag for a piece of equipment where comfort and field testing are crucial. I spent my day on the mountain unbuckling the boots every chance I got to attempt to revive my completely numb feet. When I came in to fight to exchange the boots the next day the salesman spent twenty minutes trying to convince me to mold them (and therefore irreparably alter them for potential resale on my end if they still didn't work) and didn't bring out the next size up in boot for me without considerable insistence that he do so from me. When I finally got the next size up in a totally different boot he didn't help me fit them at all, did the exchange when I said they fit without telling me how much the new pair cost, and walked away right afterwards leaving the new pair of $500 boots I had just bought out of the box and on the floor where I was sitting to try them on. Lesson here: if you are an experienced skier, fight for the fit you think is right, and better yet, don't buy boots at Outpost Sunsport. read more

I dropped in to this store to buy a pair of polarized specs for sports since my absolute favorite pair were left at the tennis courts and were never returned. The staff was very friendly and patient with me since I thought the brand I had was at the store but it wasn't carried there and I was at a loss since it was an older style. I got a pair and then the next day I got cold feet and ended up returning them because I really really just wanted to go find my old pair again and they just could not order them since its not a brand they carried. I was expecting to get some rudeness from the staff, but instead they were totally nice and helped me look around for other brands to no avail. I liked these guys so much even though I did not buy the high end expensive specs, I ended up looking for and finding a nice cheap pair of polarized specs for driving. read more

I took my skis in to have the bindings remounted, worked with a staff member for 20 minutes to ensure they would be mounted correctly out of fear of having them done incorrectly, and lo and behold, they were done INCORRECTLY. Though my specifications were very simple and easy to understand, the mistake was still made from carelessness. I worked with the sales manager who was very unprofessional and rude about taking care of the mistake. That manager seemed very okay with losing my business and multiple others' because of my experience. The owner worked with me to find a solution, but we never came to being on the same page. Every one else in the shop was very helpful and apologetic during the situation, but the manager was very unprofessional and no help at all. The same thing happened to my friend at Christy Sports, and they properly took care of the mistake. Lesson learned. read more

My family and I have been coming to Outpost for all of our outdoor and skiing activities for the past 25 years. We always have an awesome experience interacting with the staff. Everyone there is fantastic and works hard for customer satisfaction! Recently, I dropped off three pairs of skis for a much needed tune up. I left them on a Tuesday and needed them by Thursday, which was too quick of a turn around for this time of year. I bought a pair of Salmon Lord skis and bindings, and Atomic boots on 2012. Spent about $1500. I could find better deal online to save money. I choose local store because I thought I could get better services. I was wrong. On May 17, 2016, when I skied in ABasin, a binding was broken. Since Salmon has 5 years warranty for their bindings. I brought my skis to the Outpost Sunsport, asked for warranty. The manager told me it Salmon won't cover it, but they can replace the broken parts for me, I should pay the parts, labor free. I trusted him, paid $45 for it. I'm wrong again. As I got back home, I search online and found many this kind of issue with my Salmon Z12 bindings. The user said Salmon warrenty should cover it. I called Salmon warrenty department, they confirmed the warrenty cover. Salmon told me any of their authorized retailer including Outpost Sunsport could repair it and submit warrenty claim and charge to Salmon. I don't have to pay for that. The next day, I went to Outpost Sunsport, told them what Salmon warrenty department said. They refused to submit the claim. Then I said please give me my broken binding parts I will go to Christy Sports for the warrenty. They agreed firstly, but after a while told me the broken parts could not be found any more. The manager said he can give me a half price refund, but I said it's under warrenty, I should get it fixed for free, as the Salmon warenty department had told me this. The manager then went away and refused to communicate with me. left me alone in their store. Sorry, Sunsport, I would never buy anything from you because you just sell me things but don't support them, even they are still under warrenty. I would rather go to Christy Sports. read more

I have been a customer at outpost for many years. Every trip I make I am greeted in a welcoming manner and I am asked immediately if I need help finding anything. They pay close attention to detail, and know what they're talking about, both in skis and clothing. An employee named Noah helped me for over 2 hours to get some boots that would be right for my weird feet. Weeks later I am loving the boots. I bought skis after and was helped by an employee named Dan. He was patient with me and answered many questions. I should have these skis for years to come. I would highly recommend Outpost if you value high quality work from high quality people. read more

I'm 5'9". Told the staff I ski black diamond and ask him to choose a pair of skis and boots for me, because I had though Outpost Sunspots are professional to do this. He choosed a pair of skis in and boots. Spent me about $950 on skis and bindings, $550 on boots and customized foot pads. Had thought I got very good skis and boots, I brought them to the resort, but felt not stable when I ski fast compared to my old skis. I thought maybe my ski skills were not as good enough to control those so GOOD and EXPENSIVE skis. Until one day, I happened to seat with a ski instructor on the lift, he told me it's because my skis were too short(158cm) and my boots were too soft(90 Flex). Unfortunately I could not exchange them because they're already used. It was very hard to make a dicision to have the skis spent $950 laid in garage and buy another pair. Finally demoed some skis in the resort and bought a pair of brand new 172cm Rosignal skis and bindings online , for no more than $700($399 for skis, $225 for bindings, $45 for mounting in local REI store). Very stable, Very stable, very confident, very satisfied with them. I'll never buy anything from this store. read more
