This place used to be a staple for me and my friends years ago. Now it's garbage. The employees are scared of the owner who pays so much attention to overcharging that they let the quality of food and service get worse. Will not ever go back here again. Growing up in Westchester i remember a sub shop on 99th n bird when they closed down years ago I could never find another sub shop that would make subs as amazing as them. Well my search is over! Place is good from what you can expect from a subshop. Prices are a little overpriced if you ask me but they do have daily specials. I was a Little ticked that they did not honor their 10 percent check in offer. They called the owner and he said it was only for online orders. That's not what "check in" means. I noticed this place on my way to work and thought it would be a great option to stop in during my lunch break. The service was quick and friendly, but as I got to my office to try my wrap I found it completely disheveled. It was totally unwrapped and it just made for a really messy unsatisfying lunch. I couldn't really enjoy it because I was busy catching all the food falling out, but I will admit the little I was able to eat was pretty tasty because the dressing was really good! Can someone please go and try the soda from the soda machine and tell me I'm not crazy!!! This place used to be so good. The owner is great and the female owner not so great or kind very rude . The soda machine was off on the taste and I kept trying to explain that it wasn't just the Pepsi that was bad, it was all of them. They charge $4 for fries and $4.20 to add fries and a Coke with your sub so I asked them for the combo and asked if I can have a can of soda instead, he told me to ask the woman she refused and showed me a picture of the hoses in the soda machine because I claimed it was diet and not regular I was telling her all the sodas were bad. I ended up drinking the watered down fruit punch from the machine. The large sub isn't as big as it used to be and cost $6 more, and they fill it half way, seems like they are fighting over Pennies. If you can't give one can of soda to your customer to show understanding business must not be going to well that is 100% profit you are making on cans. Not to mention every time you ask for ketchup they hand you 2 little bags. Sub and combo costs just under $19.00. I've been coming to the same location for over 15 years and could definitely tell the owners switched. I'll be going to the sub shop down the street, I won't be coming back here. The food is amazing, the service is outstanding, and the line moves quickly. I usually get the chicken honey mustard. The cooks put effort into cooking your meals, not just slap it all together. Placed online order via the app and my order was wrong - we ordered hot subs but received cold. Juan was of no help. Instead of redoing both subs for us while I was heading back with the cold ones - he refused to do that - said that he would heat up the ones he had made us! Unacceptable! They already have tomatoes, lettuce, etc etc etc on it - ridiculous to heat that up - why not make a fresh ones for us - he said it was the apps fault - I told him that how was I supposed to know that the app has an issue? He said he would make a new one and give us 10% off I said no way! then he said to call the app for a refund that they would do that - I went via the app but they need authorization from the restaurant prior to issuing a refund - they called the restaurant but no one answered! So we've not received a refund! awful treatment of customer by Juan (owner's son) instead of just redoing and keeping loyal customer! Update to my review I received phone call from Guillermo (owner) he didn't apologize - all he was interested was in my removing the negative review that was rightly earned - he ended up saying that he would refund my order and to rethink the review because it's the restaurant not the employee - employees are part of the restaurant and if they treat customers unfairly or rudely or nasty it is counted. He asked if we would give him another chance - so today I went back - placed order via phone instead of app in order to not have any issues with food preparation. I met Guillermo in person and he is just as unfriendly arrogant as his employee/son (Juan) - he didn't even give me a discount because if you order via the app you receive a $5 discount - he wouldn't do it and he said we were already refunded for original order which was not approved instantly nor immediately - I explained that I ordered via phone because of the issue with the app and giving them another chance as he had requested - Never going back - We will not ever order from here again because of how rude and arrogant the owner is as well - he treats customers who have an issue with their order badly - of course all is okay if you order and not make a complain - but if you do they are very rude and will not even redo as I had requested - my original review stands - too bad cause I really wanted to remove it but absolutely NOT!!!! Very very arrogant as well!!!! And I was NOT immediately refunded - on the contrary they refused to give me one - the ONLY reason that I was finally given a refund was AFTER my truthful review of them! Update --- My assessment of this place is actually quite accurate! While browsing the offerings in the Postmates Party (i.e. free delivery) for a weekday lunch, I came across Outrageous Subs. Honestly I thought this was Subrageous which is located near 107th Ave/FIU and since you only have 5 minutes to decide I hurried up and placed my order for a cheesesteak, which I had previously enjoyed at Subrageous. I also got an order of seasoned fries which came out to about $14 total. I only noticed after the fact that this was not the same place. When it arrived the first thing I noticed is that the sandwich was much smaller than Subrageous and there was basically no cheese. I had to add mayo so it didn't taste so dry. The meat was alright, not the best, and the bread was okay too. The reason it gets the third star is for the seasoned fries. Even though they were not really hot by the time they got to me, they were still good and I love a curly fry. I'm not sure I would order from here again as the prices are pretty comparable to Subrageous and the quality is night and day. read more
