Staff friendly & helpful Order: Pulled pork platter w/2 sides, toast, bbq sauce on the side: Pork served chopped good amount , not dry Baked beans: very brown sugar centric... almost tasted like sweet potato pie flavors Coleslaw: vinegar based - good Rib platter w sauce on side , 2 sides, toast 3 ribs served, good smoke ring, not dry but not fall off the bone either. They were ok Baked beans same as above. Potato salad- good flavors Avoid the "toast" white bread doused in some type of butter/substitute? Tastes chemically. I typically do not submit reviews good or bad because I believe in voting with my dollar. If I have a bad experience I just won't return. Since my experience was a matter of disrespect to my little girl, I will makesure to take it a step further. We traveled in from Atlanta 8 hours and decided to visit this location while waiting on our room to be ready. My little girl goes to the rest and returns with no instance. This part of the story happens after we have our food so she comes back to continue eating. A few minutes later, an employee that was not our server interrupts our meal and pulls my wife aside and says that when my daughter flushed everything did not go down and wanted us go in and clean it. We asked if there was any waste on our around the toilet and the employee says no just inside. So, because the lack of pressure in their toilet did not push everything and now they expected us to clean it? Needless to say we left feeling very disrespected. I guess happy father's day to me. Now to the others quickly. The food was mid at best. Brisket dry, ribs almost overcooked and pulled pork okay. The best part was the coleslaw that was savory with good flavor. Our server was really good and if it weren't for the ending experience this visit would have been decent. But i assume the lady in the story above I guess was someone higher and spoiled the entire experience. The food is great! We have been wanting a BBQ place in St Pete Beach and Outside BBQ fits the bill. We tried to e pulled pork, ribs, and brisket and all were succulent. Went today for the first time and enjoyed the ribs, sausage, collards, potato salad, and coleslaw. Lots of flavor, but must say the ribs could've been a little bit more moist and the spicy sauce was good but could've used more zing. This place has all the potential to be the go to barbecue place in this area, but their price points are very high. $42.00 for a slab of ribs and 31.00 for a whole chicken served with garlic buttered wonder bread is about as expensive as it gets and we all know what a slab of ribs and chicken cost, especially when they're buying in bulk. read more

Had to stop after driving by three days in a row and smelling the smoke blowing across the street. Small place with very tight parking but food was great. Brisket, pulled pork and mac n cheese were fantastic. Meat was juicy and not dried out. They brought us a free tray of French fries while we were waiting and they were crispy and delicious. The pace is slow here but our server was amazing and so friendly. Would definitely go back next time in town. read more

I placed an order through a food delivery service. The correct receipt was on the bag. I received only half my order (one meal was completely missing). The meal I did receive was just ribs and two pieces of toast. No side. Very disappointing as we now have to scramble and figure out dinner because one person didn't get his order. I don't know what the lady on tik tok was talking about but the food was ok. I made sure I went during a time where the food was most likely to be fresh. The amount of food compared to the price is definitely not enough at all. I can get way more food in South St.Pete for the same price and people waiting in line before some places I go to even open and they sell out . I wasn't impressed by the seasoning(salty)or tenderness and it tasted like it was rushed instead of slow and it was kind of burnt. Makes a big difference. I might try it again to see if it's a different experience next time. We ordered takeout on a Friday evening, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing from the start. At 5:30 PM, the restaurant was nearly empty--only four customers dining in--and we saw just a handful of takeout orders being prepared. For what should be a busy time, it didn't inspire much confidence. The first real red flag came when we picked up our food. Instead of the inviting aroma of fresh smoked BBQ, there was a strong smell coming from the bag that both my wife and I immediately agreed resembled burnt rubber. It was off-putting enough that we threw away the toast as soon as we got home. Thankfully, the rest of the food didn't carry that same odor. We both ordered baked beans and mac and cheese as sides, and both fell well below expectations. The baked beans were overwhelmingly sweet--tasting like they had two to three times the amount of brown sugar needed. While the menu notes there's no meat in them, most quality BBQ spots include some, which adds depth and balance that was clearly missing here. The mac and cheese was equally disappointing. It seemed to be plain elbow macaroni with very little sauce or flavor, topped with an unappetizing layer of hardened cheese that didn't taste good. The meats themselves were acceptable but nothing memorable. The pulled pork, in particular, was on the dry side--something a friend of mine also experienced on a recent visit. What stood out most is that this wasn't an isolated impression. Both a friend and a family member had similar feedback, especially about the sides, which is unusual since sides are often a highlight at BBQ restaurants. I'm sharing this in the hope that it's taken constructively. With some improvements, this place could be much better--but as it stands, we won't be returning. read more

Ordered few for take out. The food was not good. The pulled pork was fatty and they did not include the Cole slaw in the order. The beef brisket was cut in cubes. We ordered a brisket platter and a pulled pork platter. A while later (enough to think that the food was coming out) we were told that they were out of brisket (first disappointment). I asked for bone-in chicken instead. What came out of the kitchen was boneless chicken (second disappointment). Maybe they should name the dishes something that won't get easily misheard? (Bone-in and boneless) Platters came out with side dishes flip-flopped (minor issue but indicates lack of attention and another disappointment) then the chicken was so salty it was practically inedible. The bone-in chicken brought to correct the mistake was good. The pulled pork was good. I wasn't a fan of the 3 options of bbq sauce. The fries had flavorful seasoning but again so salty you couldn't eat them unless you were starving, which we were. Mac and cheese was rather dry with too little cheese, and was, again, disappointing. The fried oysters were in fact grilled (which is good) and we would've enjoyed them more had then not been heavily salted. Then come payment time, our waitress gave us the total amount without itemization so you couldn't actually check the accuracy of the bill, we paid without questioning, then as we were walking to the car and I'm doing the math in my head, I realized we must've been billed for the brisket platter that we never got (more disappointments). I went back inside and she looked up the itemized bill and sure enough we were billed for the brisket platter. I was refunded the difference and she was nice, sweet and quite likable but I'm afraid that doesn't make up for lack of attention to details and multiple disappointments that left me regretting going there for dinner. read more

Tried Outside BBQ for the first time tonight for dinner. Barbeque is such a personal thing so each opinion is different. We are long time Georgia residents so that is our perspective. The good - talked to "pops" who was cooking on the smoker in back. Great stories and passionate about cooking. Wife and I both got the mac and cheese as a side and really enjoyed it. The Not So Good - wife got pulled pork plate and it was good but very fatty. In Georgia we mix the fatty part with the lean part for the best of both worlds. I got the Brisket plate and it was more like what we call Burnt Ends as it was beef but in chunks rather than slices. It had a good smoky flavor but was dry. The collard greens were very sweet with no pork in them. The waitress told us this but I didn't comprehend it. Overall good food just very different than this old Georgia boy is used to getting. Give Outside BBQ a try and make your own decision. Rooting for a new beach restaurant! read more
