Ribs

Amazing ribs and sauce! I don't even like ribs! Nick brought them to a family get together and I figured I try them and I'm blown away!

Sausage, ribs, pulled pork and smoked chicken.

Ross is a bbq master! I love all his food and he is the nicest guy too. I happened upon him at Fergs and am so happy I did!

St Pete Grand Prix and the scent lofting across the area is Amazing!

Masters at BBQ. The BEST ribs I've Ever had. Pulled pork-amazing. The regular BossRossSauce is my favorite-hot available. He's a mainstay at the St Pete Grand Prix. Excellent Cole slaw; really good Mac n cheese. Staff is just a delight. Bravo-keep bringing us joy!

Half rack of ribs + potato salad and mac&cheese

I've gotten into the habit of asking owners what the best option on their menu is. "Ribs or pulled pork" was the answer, and if I felt like getting messy then get the ribs. I asked him to just pick one for me and I would trust him. I got a half rack of ribs, and a side of potato salad and a side of Mac and cheese. I asked for a bit of both the mild and hot bbq sauce because I wanted to try them both. The Boss was super friendly and you know he's gotta be the most popular person in his social circle. I was a little sad he sold out of banana pudding early on but I would much rather see sold out than didn't sell enough ;) The ribs have a nice crust, not fatty, and not dry at all. I liked the heat of the hot bbq sauce, just enough spice to make your mouth tingle. The potato salad reminds me of my mom's (which is the gold standard fyi) and the Mac and cheese was great. Bbq can be a mixed bag, especially if you're expecting some region-specific experience, and it's a letdown if the joint/truck doesn't deliver good meat. But this one man show is worth it.

I suggest never to eat from this location. The unprofessional approach is unparalleled . This company came to my company location and I bought a plate from them for lunch. When I decided to eat my food at lunch-time it had hair in my food. I attempted to reach out to the owner of the food truck which went back and forth regarding me receiving my funds and the fact that hair was in the food and stated he can't find my transaction Asking the texture of the hair or what not. Either way it was hair in the food. I also provided a screenshot of when they charged my card. If you look below where I provided a screenshot. I calmly called them to resolve the issue instead he got mad at me and attempted to proceed with cussing and being unprofessional. So I decided to notify others of their unprofessional behavior regarding a customer issue. Eat from them or not but when you got hair in your food don't say you haven't been warned.

Boss Ross BBQ is a food truck that wanders around the St Petersburg area. Tim Ross smokes his delicious spare ribs with a mix of cherry and pecan wood on site. He can be found at various events, but also on the street at various locations like a treasure hunt! Call 727-564-6969 or check out his Facebook page to find where he will be next. Every time I visit Tim I get a full rack of his delicious ribs ($28 + Tax). The ribs are large and meaty, and Tim's homemade mild and hot BBQ sauce adds just the right tang. Tim also has other delish items on his menu. You will not be disappointed!

Who knew that one of the best grouper sandwiches in town was at a college bar/restaurant? But it's…read moretrue and they have the local reviews and awards to back it up, not to mention the groper sandwiches. We stopped here once before to try the highly acclaimed grouper sandwiches only to find out that they had a large event on campus that day and were completely out of grouper. Undaunted by this set back we returned this week and luckily they had grouper. Aside from the traditional styles of Grouper sandwiches (blackened & grilled) they offer 4 unique styles, Crunchy Grouper, The Journalist, The Adventurer & The Greuben. I've had a bunch of the grilled & blackened version so I tried The Journalist. The Journalist is Fresh Florida Grouper - served on a homemade rosemary roll with lettuce and tomato. The grouper is grilled and topped with mushrooms, onions and swiss cheese. Most hardcore groper fans would scoff at this combo since it masks the true flavor of the groper which is light flaky fish with a mild flavor. But what the heck, I've had tons of "regular" grouper sandwiches so why not try something completely different. It was awesome and the mushroom, onions & swiss cheese combo added a unique flavor. They don't offer sides with each sandwich so I added the potato salad and it was fresh and had great flavor. My wife ordered the Greuben blackened, she also was very happy with her choice. She has ordered other versions of this before and really liked that the sandwich wasn't overwhelmed with 1000 island dressing. The service is self ordered from the counter and if you're looking for a high end atmosphere this isn't the place. Remember it's located on the USF campus. But one of the advantages of it being on campus is the food prices are very reasonable. So if you want a kick ass grouper sandwich and a good craft beer, you found the right place.

Love this place. Good prices, great food, great friendly employees and staff…read more. Burgers are good, chicken sandwich is good. The bread itself is a big part of why I enjoy them. The Mac n Cheese is great. Looking forward to more great meals there.

I don't eat burgers often, although I love them, so when I do it's gotta be good…read more We went to Engine No 9 for the 4th of July, and it was outstanding! We arrived at 5:30 and it was packed, but a table opened for us within two minutes. The ambiance was awesome, with each table having its own miniTV! Guests didn't have to choose between watching Wimbledon or the World Cup (or anything else they chose). Such a clever idea and probably great for entertaining kids, too. The server was prompt and friendly, and we got our drinks and app ordered immediately. We split the corn dog as an appetizer (felt right for 4th of July), and my husband declared it was one of the best he ever had. A great ratio of the sweet fried dough and salty hot dog. Definitely a reasonable portion to split as an appetizer and still have room for an entree. We got the tomato and corn salad as a side, which was a nice palate cleanser. I got the bacon cheeseburger (sub a pretzel bun, which you can absolutely do) and my husband got the Van Helsing. Both were excellent. He got regular fries and I got sweet potato fries and a side salad, also fantastic. My meal was exactly what I wanted - a classically delicious cheeseburger (I removed the bacon and put it on my side salad, which I highly recommend). My husband's had perfectly cooked garlic cloves and a nice zest with the jalapeños. They also had a great tap list to go wash everything down! We left stuffed but not feeling like we were going to die. It was a wonderful experience for start to finish and we'll be back!

Went here based on reviews and recommendations and it did not disappoint. I was lucky to get a seat…read moreat the bar because it was packed at 6 pm on a Friday night. I got the crispy duck wings (and do not know why I didn't take a picture ) but they were very crispy and very good. They came with 2 sauces, which I did not try because they said they were a bit spicy and I don't like spicy, but they were plenty good on their own. I ordered the One Bad Pig with a side of sweet potato fries and of course had to get an extra side of tator tots because I love them. The burger was very good and juice, hard to eat because it's so big, but I managed to do it. The tots were crispy just like I like them and the fries were your typical sweet potato fries but very good. The service was attentive and good and it seemed to be a local crowd and was a nice vibe. It is off the beaten path so not too touristy but the locals know about it so it gets crowded. I highly recommend this place for a burger if you are wanting one!!
