This used to be our go to breakfast spot. The past two times we've been there, it's been awful. Today we had greasy tots, gluey, bland grits and watery eggs Benedict. Our bill was 45$ plus tip. Another Keys restaurant down the tubes. read more

So this was recommended to me but it was featured on Dine In's, Drive In's, & Dives on the Food Network! I was told in advance that it was in a shopping mall plaza which was good because I'd probably be very confused. With that being said, parking is plentiful. Walking in, we were warmly welcomed. The staff here is so friendly!! I decided to get the Wolfpack with my bacon on the side but basically it's a layer of hash browns, your eggs (however you want - I got scrambled with cheddar cheese) and another layer of hash browns! I'd imagine the bacon would have been thrown in as a layer somewhere. The menu had so many good choices - BTW! Our food took awhile but our waitress did come by to let us know. Apparently they were short staffed at the moment. Finally when the food came out - we all loved it!! The bacon is super crisp which is the way I liked it and my friends all enjoyed what they got (protein pancakes, 2 egg breakfast, Cali omelette). Amazing!! Like I said, the food took forever to come out and finally when we paid our bill - we had spent longer than expected here since we were driving down to Key West but food was great and our waitress was so friendly - definitely worth coming back! read more

I've been coming here every January for the last 7 years. 6 of us had breakfast this morning. The place was empty. Took forever for food to come out. Mine was last to come out and others were already done. I had pancakes. It was like they were microwaved. They were scolding hot in the middle. First time hearing about this place. The customer service was great and very attentive. They may need some work on the seating process like a list for names to know order of arrival but the employees were great. The size isn't big but has a good amount of seating. The service is extremely fast and the food is great. I had the breakfast burrito with ham, American cheese, and tomatoes. It was delicious. We also had pancakes at our table and they were great! We were a party of 6, early morning traveling. Came in, very friendly, and we were the only table here. They set down to eat and all our drinks were empty while our server was siting at the bar top eating. Another server brought out our food. They did zero service beside bringing out our first drink and taking our order. Another person brought our food out. And they added gratuity to our tab. I'm in the industry, so I know all too well about gratuity. But if you aren't working for a tip, you don't deserve 20%. Which was never stated. I've come here with my girlfriend twice and generally enjoyed our experience. Beware, the plates here are huge. I always get the avocado toast, the first time I really enjoyed the bacon option. This time I had the original which was too plain for my liking. My girlfriend's French toast was super late (albeit I understand as it was a full restaurant) and the bread was the thinnest regular bread - not brioche or anything fancy. We dined in a Monday morning while visiting Key Largo. Had an order of pancakes, two eggs, OJ, and coffee. We did not enjoy the food - pancakes were dry - we replaced hashbrowns for fruit (pineapple/melon) which was not at its best point. 3 stars is for good service and a pretty good OJ. I'd give this place 3.5 stars. Our first morning after a long day of traveling called for a nice relaxing breakfast. The inside is cute, has a diner vibe. It's small but we were seated right away when we went around 8:30-9am. Overall I was satisfied but sure that I would go out of my way to come back. I had the banana nut French toast. It was good but nothing spectacular. Husband had the chicken and waffles. Loved the batter on the chicken but it needed to be fried a little longer. The waffle was thin and crispy which we enjoyed. The portions are not huge. I had an iced cold brew coffee with sweetened condensed milk, cinnamon, and cardamom. That was absolutely delicious, would highly recommend! In terms of COVID precautions, the tables were probably not distanced 6 ft and some of the waitresses were wearing face shields instead of masks-that is not CDC recommended. This was all a little disappointing and took away from what was otherwise a nice experience. read more

We were staying at the mangrove marina houseboat.. (separate review).. but Mike who works there recommend this place and he was spot on ! If you can definetly stop in the food was awesome!! You cannot go wrong with over easy. I am writing this as I am sitting at my table and just finished stuffing my face with lemon ricotta pancakes. Everything on their menu is DELICIOUS! I religiously order the wolf pack and lemon ricotta pancakes. The basil melt is also delicious. Not only is the good great, but so is the service. Vanessa and her staff are amazing and go above and beyond! Highly recommend. It's the best place for breakfast and lunch in the keys. You can feel good about what you are eating. My family LOVES this place for breakfast whenever we are in Keys. The food is always fresh and The service is always good. I would have to say that one of my favorite things here is the Avocado Toast. I have also had the omelette with garlic and mushrooms. My son loves the chicken and waffles and my husband gets the same thing every time he is there... it's the grilled chicken and avocado sandwich. They have the most awesome sweet potato tots also. I got the Florentine Benedict with hash browns and the Avocado BLT with sweet potato tots and would order both again without question. You may not think much of this place since it's located in a mini mall, but wow was it good! We got the chicken and waffles, banana nut French toast, and the southwestern omelette! Don't bother going anywhere else for breakfast. We have eaten breakfast every day of our vacation here. The golden waffle dogs, three sausages dipped in vanilla waffle batter and fried to a golden brown, is a fun way to eat breakfast. The cheddar jalapeño biscuit is smothered with homemade gravy and topped with a browned sausage cut in half. Yum! I loved the lemon ricotta pancake with mixed berries on top. The flavor is so delicate. On our first day, my husband had the build-your-own omelet. And with it came the perfectly brown and crispy hash browns. Two mornings he had the traditional Benedict because he loved it so much. Perhaps tomorrow he will make it three. We shared an over easy iced coffee with cinnamon and cardamom. The red grapefruit juice was excellent. I'm already trying to narrow my selection for tomorrow. Don't miss this gem! The place is clean and bright with their yellow and white tables. This was a breakfast experience we won't forget. If you're looking for breakfast when you're in Tavernier or anywhere near, go here! The service was outstanding. So many great things to say about this place it's hard to begin. I ordered the crying pig omellete which was really good. My husband had an omelette that was on special and it was out of this world. We don't remember the name but it had pico, avocado, sour cream and ranchero sauce and it was filled with veggies and beef barbacoa. Our girls had over easy eggs, homemade toast and bacon. They also make their own english muffins! My mother in law ordered the Chicken-Fried Steak since it is a favorite. It was SO GOOD! I wished I had ordered it. We rented a boat for the day so we also ordered food to go for while we were on the boat for the day. We ordered the Golden Waffle Dogs since they were featured on "The Best Thing I Ever Ate!" and they were OUTSTANDING!! We also ordered a Cubano which was one of the best we've ever had. The BLT was also delicious as well as the California Rueben. You really need to go here for breakfast and lunch. You will be impressed. They also have cocktails to get your day started right!
