This is one of our go-to's every trip. Snappers always has good, friendly service. The live music is also always really great and such a vibe. Views are great. Lots of outdoor seating and plenty inside too. Pro tip- wear long pants and bring a light long sleeve top. I get eaten up by mosquitos every time. It's a fun, chill atmosphere. Food: only reason I took a star off is the price has gotten very expensive. 2 entrees, 1 app, 1 mocktail was about $150. The fish dip was sooo good!!!, but again, pricy at $20. I got the fried coconut shrimp basket which comes with a few hush puppies that are pretty large in size and french fries. The taste for all of it was very good. My husband got hog fish w/ rice and veg medley and it was good, he loved the rice, but again pricy at mid $40's. All in all, this is always a great place to come! read more

The outside atmosphere is good, live music, big bar all overlooking the water. I had the lobster mac and cheese appetizer . It definitely needed salt and the cheese sauce was a little watery. I had the shellfish scallopini as my entree. Again it was lacking in salt and garlic. The shrimp and scallops were over cooked and it was like chewing on rubber. The worst thing was, you waited an extra long time just for your food to be brought to your table after ordering it. I was afraid to order dessert because I thought it would've taken another 45 minutes just for something simple. Don't believe the hype, it is overpriced and the food is not that good. read more

We make the keys our vacation spot every year and have been coming to Snappers sometimes more than once on our trips. After today unfortunately we will not. Our waitress was having a rough day- I get that but it really came off on her service, she didn't seem friendly, no smiling, and the worst part is when I saw MULTIPLE roaches running around the floor, she said "oh they're just bugs around here that's all it's probably different where you're from" Meanwhile the host female and male at the front were too busy flirting to check guests in, the guy saw the roach and all they did was laugh. Also observed another customer wiping off the AC unit above them, and complaining something kept falling into their food. They have really gone downhill, and for the prices they charge .... It's a shame because I really like snappers. I had the Mahi, with veggies and fries and it seemingly tasted fine but more so worried now my family and I will get sick due to the roaches and a quick internet search that found this is an ongoing issue. read more

Snappers has always been a staple in the Keys. Long before it became Snappers, it was known as the Turtle Club--a true locals' spot with plenty of history and character. Like many longtime establishments, it's had its ups and downs over the years. When the owners of Ball & Chain took over, many patrons and employees were understandably concerned about what the future would hold. To their credit, the food has improved. Several menu changes have been a welcome addition, and overall the quality is better than it was. Unfortunately, those improvements have come with a dramatic increase in prices. While the food is good, it simply isn't good enough to justify what they're charging. Thirty-two dollars for three fairly average tacos is excessive. Nine dollars for a Michelob Ultra is hard to defend. Nearly every item on the menu has seen a significant price hike, and I worry that it's going to cost them the loyal local customers who have kept this place busy during the slow season for decades. The service and overall execution haven't kept pace with those higher prices. On my most recent visit, they were out of cream cheese and eggs--basic breakfast staples that customers reasonably expect to be available. When you're charging premium prices, running out of essential menu items only adds to the frustration. I haven't even touched on the service. While some of the staff have become personal friends over the years and are genuinely great people, the overall level of service has never consistently matched the prices being charged. I genuinely want Snappers to succeed because it's part of the fabric of the Keys. But there's a fine line between improving a restaurant and pricing out the very locals who helped make it successful. I hope ownership recognizes that before those regulars decide to spend their money--and their loyalty--elsewhere. read more

We tried a few dishes (I had the shrimp burger which was amazing, as are the sweet potato waffle fries). The drinks were made perfectly, and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. The host you could tell was not wanting to work. The host introduces you to the restaurant I should've known NOT to eat there with no welcome to the restaurant. The waiter was nice but he should keep himself cleaner his shirt was really dirty from clothes. He's not the chef he's the waiter. Wear an apron or something. Honestly, a tad disappointed with my Snappers visit. I was in Key Largo for the weekend for a wedding. On the non-activity days we explored a little bit and I had been craving a whole fried fish. Given the name, we decided to come to Snappers. It's a nice locale with a nice outdoor view. You could see some big fish by their dock which is a cute touch and entertaining if you want to take a quick glance while waiting for your food to arrive. However, the service was very lacking. It took a long time to be checked on even after our initial greeting when we had not even placed an order yet. There was a small issue with our order and we asked to swap it with a different entrée, - we decided a burger would be better. This simple swap took over 30 minutes while we had already been waiting 30+ minutes after we were seated to get the initial food. I think that the server might've forgotten to place the order or had forgotten to go check to pick it up after we asked about it, it took still another 15 minutes for it to reach the table. We were on a time crunch so it was not convenient for us. By the time the replacement entrée had reached the table, the entire entrée that we had kept at the table was already finished, all while the replacement meal had just arrived. I really enjoyed my whole snapper. However, it was very overpriced, $70, for ~2pound fish. This is a lot higher than even nice downtown upscale prices in Fort Lauderdale or Miami. I'm used to paying maybe $40 for a casual restaurant like this. I figured " while in Rome." because I had this fixation on getting a whole fried fish while I was still in the Keys and this was our last day in the area. The whole experience just took longer than necessary, especially because we had a long drive back home. It would've been nice to receive a complementary discount or dessert for the large wait time. Alas , the food was good, ambience is nice but it was overpriced for my taste , dragged down by the service and ticket time on the food. Unfortunately, I cannot give Snappers a high rating at this time, but I hope to retry them in the future for a better experience. read more

This was our first stop on the way down the keys after landing from Boston. Food was so good! We aren't used to all the different seafood, and the waitress was very patient and helpful with choosing what to get. We stopped here on a day trip to the keys pretty randomly because we wanted good seafood. My only impression was that this place was unreasonably overpriced. I got a pina colada (nothing to rave about) and the shrimp burger which was big but I did not enjoy the flavor or texture. Ran me about $60 for some pretty casual food. Snappers has always been our favorite local spot but recently the prices have been remarkably high for a casual restaurant. $26.00 for a fish sandwich is a little high, if you ask me! We settled on conch fritters and simple cheeseburger. Burger was $21.00 and was just so-so. Conch fritters were $19.00 but they were excellent. Large portion and actually had conch inside, not just breading. We like to sit at the bar and enjoy the music but it was honestly too rowdy of a band for a 6 pm family crowd. This restaurant offers an amazing atmosphere with incredible views from its outdoor seating. We were seated right away and we also had our waitress at our table right to take our drink orders and our food orders when we were ready and everything came out quickly. We had drinks and beers. The beers were served in a glass but they were not cold as I would prefer a beer to be. They had a good variety of choices on their menu. We ordered a mahi fish sandwich, mahi tacos and a seafood basket and shared their fish dip. The food was ok, nothing amazing. I thought it was over cooked and over fried. They had lizards running all over the patio that surprisingly are not afraid of people and are looking for food to fall from the tables. We were so entertained by this. They reminded me of seagulls waiting for food. Overall they have a great atmosphere. It is a relaxing place to sit outdoors and to enjoy family and friends. We walked in without a reservation on off-season. The restaurant is both indoor and outdoor. The outdoor seating is expensive on a nice deck in the back. They do have live music but the food I thought, was just so so. My husband ordered the mussels and I felt they were a bit overcooked. I had the lobster roll. It was a generous portion, but tasted sort of mushy as if it was frozen, and then cooked. My husband also had the blackened mahi he enjoyed that. The service after we ordered was slow, and the waiter did seem to disappear, even though the restaurant was absolutely not crowded. We came here for lunch as a group of 4. We weren't very hungry so we ordered a bunch of appetizers. We ordered the smoked fish dip, the fried calamari, the conch fritters, and the ceviche. The ceviche was good. We finished it off easily. The smoked fish dip was a very large serving with a lot of sides- cucumber, olives, crackers, celery, capers, tomatoes, onions and a chopped pepperoncini. The fish dip was very thick and creamy. We had some leftover. The calamari was good but we had a lot leftover. The conch fritters were not very good. Very tough conch. We had leftovers. The best thing about the restaurant is the location and the views. We walked outside along the water after lunch. It was very enjoyable. There are comfy chairs by the water where you can eat and drink. There are docks where you can dock your boat. They will prepare your catch for you. I saw a stage where they would have live music. We also enjoyed their gift shop and bought a few items. I would return and try some of the other menu items and the drinks. I'd sit outside next time. Attended an event here last night at the "Turtle Club". That is upstairs in a separate area/building and not the main restaurant. Great views from here of the ocean! Bar service was great! The had the normal servers bring endless trays of tasty appetizers around. Only thing lacking were any seats. They literally provided one table and 8 chairs, along with three high tops. I'd guess around 60 people attended. I had not been here in years and was glad I went. I definitely like the physical improvements to the Turtle Club. read more

We love Snapper's!! A Key Largo "Must go to"! They typically do a Bloody Mary bar (during busy season) but we're here in October and they didn't have the whole bar. Still, we ordered bloody Mary's and they were very good! I LOVE the Mediterranean salad with added blackened chicken. The citrus dressing is delicious. But the dish we'd recommend you must try is the hog fish. You can only get it in certain areas, it's rare to see it on a menu (non existent in Ohio) and it's so good! And all the delicious food and drinks pair perfectly with a lovely ocean view. read more

This is a classic example of how new management can really screw up a good restaurant. My wife ordered the shrimp linguine and I ordered fish and chips. We also Ordered oysters and conch balls. The service was very slow, my wife's pasta came out with chicken instead of shrimp. My fish and chips was poorly prepared and breaded in corn meal (ugh). I asked for a replacement of the silverware and it never came and the whole meal for both was mediocre at best. The prices are at least 40% higher than the last time we were here. Beers were $9 each (ouch). They discontinued their best dish (the fried chicken). They used to have the best fried chicken in town and big servings. I was very disappointed to find that their famous fried chicken has been reduced to a chicken sandwich. I am very disappointed with our anniversary meal. read more

Food was excellent. The breeze was awesome. The view was great. No wait time on a Sunday night of Memorial weekend. The service is the major problem. We saw our server maybe 3 times thoughout the whole experience. We were brought appetizers with no plates and waited nearly 10 minutes for plates after asking. My wife got her drink after her entree, even though she ordered it before our appetizers. The plates were never cleared at any point, we had our appetizer plates on the table for the entire dinner. And its the restaurants fault for having 6 servers and no bussers on memorial weekend. There are so many other places that have great food AND great service so i can't recommend this place read more

We enjoyed our third visit this month! Last two visits they were out of their fantastic key lime pie, but managed to get a slice this visit-honestly the best we've had in the keys. We also enjoyed oysters on the half shell, bacon wrapped scallops appetizer (four nice size scallops) and a grilled Mahi sandwich with fries (you can have the fish prepared as you like). The service was great and the view of the ocean beautiful. Overall my favorite restaurant in the Key Largo Islamorada area. read more

My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Snappers after a great day of exploring the area. Our server, Lianelys, was wonderful, offering suggestions, answering questions, and just the right amount of attentiveness. We were very pleased with the food. The smoked fish appetizer was delicious. We had hogfish, hush puppies, and tostados. The tostados were bland, but as we've never had them before we really can't judge them. Their key lime pie was very enjoyable. The view from the outside deck was beautiful and relaxing. My only critique was the very loud trivia/music coming from the second floor Turtle deck next door. The food was delightful, I had the clam chowder and it was incredible. The hog fish was very tasty in a champagne sauce (Dakota style). My friend had the coconut shrimp basket and LOVED the shrimp. The hush puppies were over cooked and the drink I ordered was supposed to come with purée but didn't , and it took a bit for the server to bring me some in a glass. Fun waterfront spot in Key Largo. We stopped here for a bite on our way back from Key West and this was the perfect finish to our getaway! Food was delicious. I had the shrimp patty burger and honestly, was blown away by how much I enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend going for seafood items on the menu but my husband had a chicken sandwich and he enjoyed it as well. We went to Sappers for Sunday brunch, and, once again the food and service were exceptional. We made a reservation and then arrived a teeny bit early, but were met with a super nice host and server. We noted on the way in that there was live music - score! And, even before our food arrived the executive chef stopped by to great us! Really a nice touch. I had a brunch mimosa and the eggs Benedict - the home fries were super good. Wayne had a Bloody Mary and a crab cake Benedict - I think it is called the Neptune. I have been going to Snapper's for brunch nearly every Saturday and Sunday since February 2025 when I moved to the Key's. I go for their music and staff is generally great. The past several months their prices have gone through the roof. $8 Mich Ultra bottle, $9 corona and Modelo bottles while their competition has $3-6 bottles of beer. $32 fish tacos and $55 stake skewers?? Locals and regulars are dropping like flies and going to other places. Today, while discussing with frustrated locals the ridiculous pricing, the bartender stepped in and expressed that she get's $60 tip from tourists and she loves her tourists. I simply said, "would you rather have a $60 tip once a year from "tourists" or a $25 tip 100 times a year?" It turned into a shouting match in the bar which was very uncomfortable and completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I will not return to Snapper's. The managers that stepped in were great and very professional but I will not go back. There are a lot of great places in the area that have professional staff and decent prices. read more
