This non- smoking establishment has a good sized back room with tables as well as tables and a high top in the main bar area. They can seat 10-20 if you let them know ahead of time. The crowd pressure is both local flavor and transient, especially in the outdoor recreation warm months. The fact it sits right on the D&L Trail is also a nice point. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Most of the time they go out of their way to make sure you're served and conversed with, if your into that. The menu has grown and evolved also. The food has great flavor and is a decent sized plate. The cooking here seems exceptional for a local tavern. There are specials running almost every night. Taco Tuesdays and other special food offerings are also to be had. The Wings are big and meaty; the sauce is generous and the best I've had in the area. And that exceptional meal on Sundays that runs as a special "Grandma's SUNDAY Dinners". The Burgers are as big as trampolines and tasty. The customer area is a welcoming atmosphere with some games and great music machine. Karaoke or Triva Mondays, Live music most every Saturday night now. A Great outdoor area with tables and umbrellas sitting right there off the trail in Main Street Whitehaven in the warm months. The food and beer hit the spot for a casual lunch, but the service kept this from being a top-notch experience. Our server was noticeably stretched thin managing multiple tables plus a full bar. Basic details fell through the cracks -- I had get up and physically chase her down to ask for silverware and ended up with just a single fork delivered by another server. Payment was another bottleneck: after another server dropped the check, I was left standing awkwardly at the register for a few minutes while the service team juggled the other dining parties. All in all, it's a solid 3-star spot for the family-friendly vibe and solid food -- just be prepared for potential lulls in service when they're busy.

I really wanted to like this place. The vibe was promising and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the atmosphere. The food was just ok. Not terrible, but definitely not memorable. As for the drink, this was the biggest letdown. I ordered a cocktail that was watered-down and barely had alcohol. My friend tried one too, and it had the same issue. $14 cranberry juice isn't worth it. We won't be back . read more

We had to go back to the bar and pay again because after cleaning that one table everyone except the bartender would vanish. Finally we paid, sweating our asses off in a corner table with the most bassy sound system pounding for 2 hours we got out of there and went to a local bar for drinks. The ambiance was warm and cozy, not too dimly lit but very deliberately paced with the huge portions they offer; the service was top-notch, friendly and knowledgeable, always checking back at the right times and knowing what we would need as guests. We ordered several of their suggestions with no reservations, and they delivered. My fiance still talks about that apple cider margarita and it's firmly on the list of not-too-hard-to-make restaurant favorites we roll out for our guests at home. The stuffed mushrooms had a ton of crab meat and far less breading than most, without being saturated or too heavy to start the meal. The salads are certainly slept on; neatly arranged but never the star when pitted up against their hearty steak or cajun offerings, their house salads are hard to beat, unless you're paying up for a meal-type salad. As good as those two items were, the scallops I had with their cracker-encrusted light breading were the epitome of simple, sauteed, buttery-by-nature seafood; they were the best version of scallops like that I've ever had. And the dessert...just perfect for so many reasons; crispy and gooey caramelized bananas, a good amount of vanilla ice cream and the best cinnamony syrup sauce that I couldn't stop lapping up.
