This is a late review. I had a broken coil spring some weekend. I called several garage door guys but all cannot come until monday but i really needed my garage door opened because all my cars were inside. To make the story short, I called Mike from Overhead door solutions and he stated he'll make it later that afternoon in which he did.He replaced the 1 broken coil spring and added the 1 more for only $199, compared to the other quotes I got ranging from $250 - 400. Mike adheres to the warranty as stated in the receipt. My cars got trapped in the garage because the garage door springs were broken. Unfortunately it happened on Saturday. I called Mike because he repaired the springs 3 years ago. He said it was still under the warranty; however, he was out of town and could not get back until Tuesday. 30 minutes later, he called back and told me someone would come over in 2 hours to fix it. Last Thursday night, one of our garage door springs broke trapping my wife's car inside. Friday morning I was able to pull the garage door release handle and manually raise the heavy door so my wife could get her car out of the garage. I looked on Yelp to find someone to replace the broken spring. I came across ODS and saw all the positive reviews. I called and Mike answered. He told me he would be able to come by and solve the problem the same day between 4 and 6PM. I was relieved that he would be able to come out the same day. Later that day he called and said he had wrapped up a job early, and he would like to come by if that fit my schedule. That was great. Not only did he come the same day, but was able to arrive earlier than originally promised. Mike assessed the situation, replaced the spring, adjusted the door, etc. Then he noticed the gear on my garage door opener was worn. He quoted me a reasonable price to replace the gear so I had him do it. When Mike finished the door was functioning quieter and smoother then it did when we moved into the house 10 years ago. Mike was reasonably priced, professional, courteous, and has outstanding workmanship. Thanks again Mike for fixing our garage door. Mike came out for a quote. He was very nice and helpful with explaining what needed to be done to replace my garage door. His quote ended up being a lot cheaper than he originally thought it would cost. Wrote me a quote and told us that he could replace it for us in a few days (same day if he hadn't been booked all day). Mike was great, especially in a time where I was so stressed because I crashed into my garage door. We ended up going with a family friend who could replace the door for $100 cheaper. If it weren't for that, Mike had given us the best quote from anyone else. If we needed something else done related to our garage, we wouldn't hesitate to use them. Our garage door stopped working, and I cringed thinking about the hundreds of dollars it was going to cost us to fix it. I looked on yelp and decided to go with Overhead Door Solutions based on the reviews. I called Mike early in the morning and let him know the problem and that my husband and I worked in San Diego so we wouldn't be home until 7pm. Thinking he'd have to decline our business based on our hours I was happily surprised when Mike said he'd be over that night. He kept in contact and showed up as promised. After looking at the garage door, he fixed it in seconds and told us there'd be no fee. I was flabbergasted. He said it was a simple fix and showed us how to fix it ourselves in the future. I had a great experience with ODS. I called today because we are selling our home and have an inspection tomorrow. Our garage door sensors were acting funny (one green light, one wasn't lit at all). I called ODS and asked if they could come fix it and Mike advised that it was a simple fix and that a service call would probably be unnecessary and that he wouldn't want to have to charge me $75 for something he could walk me through over the phone....which is what he did. I got a voice mail saying he was having trouble with his Verizon phone and to leave a text if i don't hear back within in an hour, which I did and called a couple more times over 2 days. Called this company to look at my malfunctioning garage door opener and was met by a technician named Tim. He said he couldn't work on it because it did not have sensors so I called the owner, we talked, and quickly evaluated that it was so old I needed a new opener and would be compliant with the ordinance to have sensors. He made no mention of the soon to be enforced ordinance that I would also need a battery back up. We scheduled an appointment for 3 pm the next day. I get a message the next morning. Good morning Miss Hanson this is Overhead Door Solutions. We're not going to be able to install the 8500 for you. You might want to give a call to another company. Sorry for the inconvenience.? What??!? I call and ask what happened and the rep seemed as puzzled as I. He said he would have Tim call me by 2 pm and that never happened. Huge inconvenience as new tenants were moving in on the 1st and I can't get another one installed until the 3rd. It was such an unprofessional experience and quite frankly, rude. I went with Precision Garage Door. Same price range, (which was much less expensive than Patton or Door Pros), and it came with the battery back up that I will be required to have by next July and a free additional button pad. Thanks for canceling without explanation, ODS, as I just got a much better deal with very a pleasant company. I would not recommend ODS for their lack of knowledge of impending compliance, their flaky behavior and lack of customer service in failing to return my phone call and explain why they were canceling our appointment. read more

Called ODS on 12/20 for sporadic opening and Mike came on 12/20. Learned that doors should be serviced once a year so it is already on calendar for 2017. So glad door needed service for operation, because now the noise pollution during opening and closing is no more to boot! We had purchased the door from ODS four years ago and had forgotten to service annually. Mike also helped me remember how to use the wall unit!! Mike at Overhead Door Solutions is a prompt, respectful, courteous and quick to remedy problems. I had a torsion spring pop Saturday night on a 16' wide door. I looked for a garage door company with a respectable rating and came upon ODS. Mike answered the cal at 7:30am scheduled me in at 11am, showed up and replaced my spring with a dual spring system that the Builder of my home skimped on in 30 minutes. He lubricated and did a full check of my door and informed me of some things to consider. He never tried to up sell me, and when he was going over things I should consider I never felt pressured. I have since put his number in my phone, and plan to use him for any future garage door concerns. I told Mike over the phone what was wrong, he quoted me for the repair only on springs, which I thought was very reasonable. After an accident involving our garage door yesterday and seeing the pictures that my wife sent me (OUCH), I decided to call in an expert to make the repairs. I quickly reviewed 4-5 of the Yelp search results and decided to call Mike @ ODS. Mike stated that we had a very full schedule but considering the inability to close the door, he insisted on coming out later that evening after his last scheduled appointment. Scheduled for 8pm, Mike called and asked if he could come an hour early. When he arrived, he quickly assessed the damage and rendered a VERY FAIR quotation to fix the door. (Especially considering it was way after his scheduled work day). The repairs were made professionally and in a very timely manner. The door runs better now than it has in years. What a great job.
