My experience at Overland IOP & PHP has been supportive from the start. The quality of care is excellent, with a dedicated clinical team that is knowledgeable, compassionate, and attentive to individual needs. The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers a structured, intensive approach, while the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides flexibility for those balancing treatment with daily life. Both programs incorporate individual therapy, group sessions, and medication management, creating a well-rounded treatment plan. The office experience has been smooth--staff members are friendly, organized, and accommodating. The facility itself is clean, welcoming, and designed to foster a comfortable healing environment. While every treatment journey is personal, I found Overland to be a supportive and effective place for growth and recovery. Overland will always hold a special place in my heart. I could not have asked for a more compassionate and loving experience. Each group and facilitator offered a different perspective and toolkit to help me get out of survival mode and start living life as my true self. The weekly programming is intentional and thorough, addressing the mind, body, and spirit. Boxing with Eldar and yoga with Sarah helped bring me back into my body. Nutrition with Lotta taught me how fundamentally linked nutrition is with mental health. Narrative therapy with Isabel helped me reconnect with the younger, wounded parts of myself, and begin to integrate them into my life. I can go on and on about the wide range of groups and expertise among group facilitators. There is something for everyone, and you get out of it what you put in. The entire staff, from the administrative and billing staff, to the group facilitators, are exceptional. I would recommend Overland to anyone seeking mental health/addiction treatment. I entered this program very appropriately nervous and traumatized. I did not know what to expect beyond what I've experienced in therapy throughout my life, but I was definitely happily surprised to discover some techniques I'd never heard of or had always thought were "woo-woo" that provide benefit in helping me regain solidarity in myself. Unfortunately, I feel my time was both rushed and cut short, and the finger is only to blame on bureaucracy and the class of the rich that don't care one wink about humanity. So I'm graduated from the program unhealed (even though healing is a journey) and unchanged (same as when I started). But I harbor no ill feelings to this place or the program. I had a devout and beloved team from my case manager who was rock solid and took on the weight I just could not. To my therapist who empathized and cares about her patients, which I kindof noted she was the one for those who had been through extreme levels of trauma. She's a champion to absorb and help her patients with that level of darkness and an amazing soul. The group therapies and facilitators were very open, encouraging of creativity and support, and overall informative and enlightening. I would definitely advise in reflection, if you are needing help, if you are in a tough place in your life and don't see the light, and most importantly have an open outlook on wanting to put in the work no matter how tough or how much you would rather curl up in bed, this place is a safe haven and your lighthouse on those stormy seas. All that's required is that you open your eyes up to the light, meaning you be open and willing to challenge yourself and nurture what you've always been afraid of or neglected. It's not easy, and that's why you're here, but the reward is there. Especially in my case where I'm still quite in the dark, at least I know more about myself, and I've been able to open the door to my own healing journey beyond this IOP & PHP program! If everyone embraced mental health and continued their healing journey instead of thinking it was a bandaid fix, the world could be full of lighthouses and light; our internalized global warming storms could become the soothing sound of lapping waves against the coast. All it takes is an openness to being vulnerable and a rigid routine in practicing over time. Thank you Overland for your unwavering support. Overland Intensive Outpatient: IOP and PHP Program is a terrific treatment program and experience. The staff are wonderfully helpful and kind to everyone. I had a dedicated support team, including a therapist and case manager, who consistently demonstrated their expertise and utmost care for my treatment plan and overall wellbeing. The group therapy sessions are also helpful. The facilitators provide a plethora of coping tools and skills to handle mental health illnesses such as, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. This is an amazing program which I highly recommend! The people at Overland IOP genuinely care about the clients so much, and they are definitely the best program in LA I have seen. Terrible experience here, particularly with their patient intake coordinator Andrew Broz who should not be working anywhere in the industry due to his highly unprofessional and self important behavior. Not only is Andrew unprofessional, he is inept, accidentally texting a patient negative comments abt that patient that he intended for a fellow staff member. The entire program also seems geared towards substance abuse, so I assume people will give good reviews when the alternative to this program is some punitive measures. Finally from my brief time there it looked like the entire program is held in various depressing, fluorescent-lit trailers and parking lot space. Avoid. read more

Review for virtual mental health track: While I think it is possible to get something out of the groups and the experience, I am finding that this program has overall worsened my symptoms since I joined. Multiple employees have made excuses about being understaffed. I've been in the program for 2 weeks now and I've suffered from a lot of empty promises and miscommunications. ex: the day I was supposed to start, I got a call saying I had to wait another day. The following day, I was supposed to get to join group but all I got was an intake meeting that started 20 min. late because of their "tech issues." In my onboarding, I was told to sign forms that are inaccurate and inappropriate "as a formality." I couldn't even get an appropriate "consent for treatment" form. I'm sorry, but my consent is not a formality. I value it. The virtual experience is a cash cow that is decidedly inferior. Two weeks in and I don't even have a treatment plan. Certainly my insurance will stop paying before I get anywhere if progress continues at this rate. Or I'll land in inpatient because my health has worsened. I joined this program with the goal of improving my health, but I feel like this is just a last priority perifferal goal to the program. Nothing has showed me that their primary goal isn't just to make money. There's more box checking than support. I wasn't able to get a good faith estimate for the cost of care, even though I asked multiple times. Internal communication is poor. I had a planned absence I informed multiple people about in writing and verbally, and still got a bunch of texts to join a meeting because they didn't tell my case manager I would be absent. Also, I was sold on the program partly because it says they have an alumni support network for after you leave. Turns out that's just false advertising that isn't actually happening. Most of my meetings haven't even been pre-planned, so I just get some kind of text (if it goes through) that I need to leave group randomly if someone has time for me. it took 2 weeks to get an ROI for me to allow them to communicate with my therapist, and they still haven't collaborated with her. Little has been done to build safety and trust. I am having an extra meeting with my therapist from before I joined this program because I need support and am absolutely not getting it. Groups are too big, and could have 6 virtual and up to 14 in person all together. The virtual has audio that is often so poor that some group members can never be heard bc of how they speak. Other times you get half of what someone says. It can be cacophonous because of mic issues too. Transcription fails. It's hard to have energy to put into what's being said and learned when all your energy goes to trying very hard to even understand what's going on. It's not possible to be truly engaged in the conversation. As of right now, I regret joining this program. I suggest you choose another. I hope my experience improves because I have rearranged my life to be in it, and I've got a lot of time and money invested. read more

I came to Overland during my longest and worst depression episode. I was very nervous about doing a PHP program since I would had to take a disability leave from work and also- I didn't really like group therapy before coming here. Corbin, my case manager, helped me figure out, apply and keep up with my EDD benefits. Group therapy was nothing like other groups I had done before. This was thanks to the amazing instructors/therapists we had. Josh (CBT and DBT) is the best at explaining mental health in the easiest ways possible. He is super approachable and always very funny and nice. Dominique (trauma groups) is an amazing therapist. She is the facilitator for trauma groups, which are very heavy, but Dominique always found a way to lighten the mood and help us process our traumas. She also has the greatest bubbly personality. You can always count on her to make you smile. She radiates happiness Michael is something else... he is super knowledgeable, he is very respectful, he truly helped me discover self-love and self-compassion. Michael's groups were always very informative and interesting. He knows how to engage everyone. Sarah (yoga and meditation). I can't put into words how Sarah literally changed my life. Sarah teaches yoga in the most gentle way possible. She made me love yoga. Sarah is always the nicest, she is super approachable. She has great listening skills. She is very observant, respectful, and very easy to talk to. Whenever Sarah was teaching, she always provided different options for our different bodies and abilities- always being gentle, understanding, and non judgmental. She puts a lot of work into creating the best playlists for her classes, it truly really shows how much she cares. I could always count on her to make my day, even when I was feeling the lowest, she always brought calmness to my mind and reminded me to be grateful. Alyssa's (art therapy) group were always so much fun and very helpful at processing different issues. Isabel is also a great instructor. She teaches more of the science behind mental health and just knowing how it shows in our physical bodies helped me understand and accept my mental illnesses. Overland also provides nutrition classes, breath work, sound baths, and many more classes! I can't say enough good things about Overland and the staff. Starting off by saying I am 510 days sober after my first time ever in treatment. I was there after 30 days detox/rehab. Evening program. 4 hours each day. It was only me and 2 other people there and a couple people on Zoom that hardly shared. I stuck it out and never said anything. I had told them I was doing 2 weeks as a transition to getting back to work. Week 3 I needed a break since I would leave to work at 6am and wouldn't get back home till about 9:30pm. A couple days after I called for help with my meds and was told I dropped out the program. Corbin is a coward!!! Since I had no time for myself since I worked each day and went straight to Overland I still made the effort to go to one class that monday week 3. I left after the first class and as I'm in my car getting ready to leave Corbin text me and said "If you come you can't leave after the first class. Just don't come in if you're leaving early". Mind you I just left the office face to face with him and let him know I was leaving. The next day I text him and asked for help with my meds. He said speak to Andrew BROZ and Andrew said "Since you quit the program you need to find a way to get your meds yourself" I told him I had no idea I had quit the program but I will figure it out myself since he made the choice of quitting for me. 510 DAYS CLEAN AND SOBER NO RELAPSE! THANK GOD I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE BOTH IN TREATMENT AND AT OVERLAND IOP BECAUSE MOTIVATES ME TO NEVER GO BACK. 510 SOBER NO RELAPSE AND STILL GOING. read more

I am a young breast cancer survivor that needed emotional and mental help during and after my breast cancer treatment. After having been thru chemo and then losing my breast due to breast cancer I was in a really bad mental place. On top of the side effects of chemo that caused depression and mood swings, I was severely traumatized and grieving my old life and body. I was suffering from depression, severe anxiety and post traumatic stress. And I still needed to go through radiation treatment. One of the reasons for me to seek therapy was to understand what was happening to me. I was severely grieving and was feeling very hopeless. I was seeking to learn coping skills. Every day was so emotionally painful and traumatic to go through radiation. I was so tired of the whole journey and wanted to be finished and rest. Going to Overland IOP every day group therapies after my radiation was exactly what I needed to help me get through and get to where I wanted to be. I would come to a very safe, no judgement and healing space to tell my story and also heal by hearing others. The therapists are very knowledgeable and they equipped me with coping tools through all their classes. All the different classes/therapies provided something different to add to my tool box. They are very caring, patient and experienced. I highly recommend this place if you are struggling in life with anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, grief. It can be scary to take the leap, show up, and trust the process in finding healing. That is why I'm writing this..because it's hard enough without having to walk in blind. That being said, I cannot speak highly enough about the staff, and program at Overland. It's extremely evident that everyone genuinely cares about each client and their well-being. My therapist went out of his way countless times to provide extra support when needed. In many ways the team at Overland literally saved my life. As far as the program itself goes, there's a great balance between trauma processing, education, skill development, and grounding. Overland truly takes a holistic approach. The group facilitators are amazing and I miss them already. The way that everyone accepts you fully, hard days included, creates a place where you can be bare bones honest and met with genuine kindness. I've recommended this program to multiple friends as well. The staff is really great about assisting with transitional periods and helping find any resources you may need. The clientele is comprised of genuinely amazing people. Everyone's story is different and yet there was always someone who could relate. We shared many laughs and a ton of growth. I honestly thought the "solution" was going to get my antidepressant increased when I first arrived - and then I started to realize that life can be so much more vibrant than I ever knew and began to heal. The onboarding process operates like a scam. I initially wanted to know the out of pocket cost- I called overland hotline from their website- which is valid and provided here in yelp as well-and got "The cost is not our concern- more so that we help you" Then told me that it's hard to get in- they called me after checking insurance and asked me extremely personal Q's got me to open up and be vulnerable- still after assessing-I wanted to know the cost. In the end -they told me after I accepted the offer- they wanted 6K to start. I asked if I could tour before paying them, and the guy on the phone started arguing with me about my boundaries and how I should be accepting the offer - paying AND not checking the location for accuracy. Pretty sure his name is like Christopher -The other places I applied allowed me to tour- (also asked for WAY less money) Then after changing my mind due to being treated stupid, the guy would not stop calling me- it was borderline harassment. Idk if the employees here get treated like shit but this guy seemed really thirsty to get someone to sign up and breezed past what I initially wanted to know- idgaf about your service if you are asking for thousands of dollars i'm declining. Stop preying on vulnerable people. read more

My brother had a wonderful experience recently at Overland. There has been a tremendous improvement in his life since he finished treatment there. Don't know much about this place other than my daughter transferred from a Residential rehab after she completed her treatment. She has been there for 2 weeks. I mailed some important papers to my daughter and I saw where the post office said it had been delivered 3 day earlier. I sent a text to my daughter a day ago and asked her if she had received her birth Certificate and insurance cards. She told me NO. I reached out to my daughter all day text after text but no reply. I went on line and tried to locate her phone but it shows the phone is not on. So I called the number I was given for Overland IOP and it is the same number on their website. When calling I get a message, (The call can not be completed as dialed check the number and try again. Other Yelp users say the IOP has closed. WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER??? read more
