This "hole in the wall" is somewhat of a hidden gem. It is a sports bar with multiple television monitors all around the room. We arrived on a Sunday evening, and there was not much of a crowd. Our server was prompt, friendly, and knew the menu. She did not need to write down the orders, and everything was correct. There were three of us. The food was probably about four star Tavern food. What made this five stars is the service, and how we were cared for. One person in our party had a burger. Another member had 10 wings and fries. I had the fish and chips. All were prepared to our liking with no complaints at all. For my fish and chips, which came with hush puppies, and two IPAs the cost was just over $21. I would expected to pay closer to $35 or $40 for the meal. Our server received a tip, which was commensurate with how she performed. Another words, it was a really good tip. Went there a couple weekends ago. No one was wearing a mask, no one was social distancing, no stickers on the floor, no signs on the door about COVID protocols. One guy kept asking my friend and I to watch his pitcher of beer and trying to get in between us and take our seats. I yelled at him and pushed his pitcher back at him. The bartender asked if I was ok but no one checked on us when he came back a second and third time. I think he was trying to hit on my friend, but he invaded our personal space and really bothered me. Several others of his friends kept coming up to our table when we finally gave up and left the bar. They interrupted our conversation and got right in our face. I told them to back up b/c we were in the middle of the pandemic. They laughed and walked away. Where was the bouncer in this situation? Why wasn't anyone wearing masks? Why was there no hand sanitizer? So frustrating that everyone was acting like COVID didn't exist. I was claustrophobic even before the pandemic. NOW? Heck's to the NO! Came here tonight for the first time with my husband. Our waiter was great. The food - not so much. The queso was sour. I had fajitas with rice and beans. The beans were RANCID. Decor are nice, definitly not a hole in a wall kind of bar. TVs are everywhere which is great. Service on the other hand is not so great. My first and my last time here so you get my biased opinion. First, not a big fan of smoke, I can tolerate some but OMGosh, this joint is not my place. The exterior doors lead you to little lobby that you pass through to a second set of doors to get inside the lounge. When we walked in, I immediately smelled the smoke and when we opened the second set of doors, it hit me like a wall. There were only 4 other patrons in the place when we showed and it smelled like 100's had been Smoking in there. SO no fans, no form of moving air and defiantly no signs of fresh air anywhere. My friend and I had the lunch special of hamburger and fries at $4.99. The hamburger was good. Veggies on it was fresh and the bun was not stale. The burger and fries were your typical frozen cooked, and they were fine, cook to be expected. I was not wow'd by the meal but ate it. Waitress was really young and nice. Because we had to go back to work, we did not participate in an adult beverage, so I could not judge on that. When I left, I wanted to go home and shower because I smelled like I had been clubbing all night and we were barely in there for 45 minutes. I have been into restaurants/bars that allow smoking. It had real fun spelled out for me and perhaps the only place Ive been to in the Fort Worth area so far, that had the most women and men together at one spot. I was visiting from Va., the food was mediocre at best. The waitress, Megan, was at the end of her shift and brought our salad, entree, and check at the same time. Then returned five minutes later to ask if we would hurry up and cash out. Then she sat down and chit chatted with some guy while we nearly succumbed to thirst. My companion had to literally call the establishment to get a refill on our drinks. I felt rushed. I am not sure if it was because of my ethnicity, because I am from out of town, because I am not a member, or lack of training but the service was GARBAGE!!! There is a sign posted upon entering that lists some rules that are primarily geared toward people of African American descent stating no baggy pants, no hats turned to the side or backwards, no this, and no that, it really is embarrassing and quite racist. It appeared to be a nice place to eat, but I guess the old saying is true: Everything that glitters isn't gold. Downhill service recently. Been coming off and on for 11 months. Decreasing service and food quality every time. Place is extremely smokey at times. While I don't mind this at a usual bar, half the time Overtime doesn't have their fans on. It's like walking into a wall of smoke. You have that "need a shower" feel when you leave.
