It is a lovely log cabin with a great living room with a television that you are allowed to watch Netflix on and a kitchen, which is mostly used for cooking breakfast. It also has a hot tub, that you can use at your leisure. The best part about the bed and breakfast is the beach with its patio, deck, fire pit, kayaks and canoe that you can use. We stayed in the master suite, which was huge with a huge bathroom that had a claw-foot tub and double headed shower. It was pretty cool. The other rooms appeared to have a separate bathroom from the room, but I did not pry too much to find out if this was true. One thing I did notice was that you could hear people in the neighboring rooms, because the windows were open. There is no air conditioning, but because it is on the water the room stayed nice and cool and air conditioning seemed unnecessary. Ted and Marie, the proprietors, were great hosts. They made a very simple, but lovely breakfast of Grand Traverse Pie Co. Quiche, yogurt, fruit, and freshly made muffins with orange juice and great coffee to drink. At breakfast on Saturday, we had a nice chat with the owners and some other guests. They also gave us some pie for dessert! The hosts really impressed me on the last night of our stay. We were on the beach deck drinking a glass of wine and enjoying the beauty of the bay, when Ted came down with some wood for the fire and helped us build a fire, then left us to enjoy it. He also had said that the paddles for the canoes and kayaks were broken, so he bought new ones while we were staying there and we were able to go for a really great early morning canoe trip prior to check-out time on our last day of our stay. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is traveling as a couple or alone.

She also has wonderful stories of her adventures during the off season that are sure to delight you. The rooms are very comfortable and extremely well kept. Air conditioning is available and separately controlled in each room. Each room has a private bathroom. Breakfast each morning is served with fruit, some type of bread, and a very delicious hot dish. She even serves her own made grape juice. The grounds are immacutely tended to. She also has a wonderful sun room where breakfast is served each morning and one can take advantage of it throughout the day to read or relax. The only complaint I have is that I can't take her home with me!!

The road is not far away, but traffic was not bothersome. We stayed in one of the 2 room cabins the next weekend. (July 4th). The cabins are set back farther on the property. They seem secluded as you can watch the creek and sit on the porch under the big shade trees. The cabin had a kitchen, living room, 2 rooms each with a queen bed. Again the sink is outside the bathroom which I like as it is easier to share with others. There is free kayak use with your stay. What a bonus. Dave took great care of us and answered any questions we had. It was nice to not be stuck in a hotel room where others are walking up and down the hall and slamming doors. The bathroom was also kinda small, but it did have a walk in shower with a shower head high enough for tall people. My only real issues was there is almost no storage. As other reviewers have mentioned, they aren't flexible when it comes to changing your stay or checking in/out earlier than the stated times, so make sure your plans are very solid before booking, even in the dead of winter. Parking is very limited. We were expecting guests to drop by for a quick visit (two hours tops) and asked where they could park. We were directed across US-31 (a busy four-lane thoroughfare) to an overflow lot. We asked if there was anything closer, as one person is in a wheelchair, but they didn't budge. (The parking lot in front of the hotel was empty except for our car at that point.) We called to book, and Linda was so helpful and personable. We booked the King Suite (the largest) for $109 a night. We thought that was extremely fair. We got there after dark, retrieved our room key from the box, as directed, and was really pleased with how clean and comfortable the room was. There were very few guests, given the winter season. The office wasn't open either, but it was fine. It was quiet, and someone replaced towels and k-cups each day, and emptied the trash. The kureig, microwave, and fridge were very helpful. Note - the fridge was not tiny, it was about three feet tall. The tv and WiFi worked great, we both had to work from the room at different times, and had no problem on video calls. It was a quick walk to the BP for snacks, drinks, breakfast sandwiches (yum!), very convenient. There are two great restaurants open year round, joes friendly tavern and empire pizza. We would be very happy to stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

This raises a serious question: If the hotel does not honor Priceline's policies, why is it listed on Priceline?
