This is a beautiful lodge. We stayed in a king walk out patio room. Absolutely beautiful! It was so relaxing sitting on the patio in the morning and enjoying the scenery. The fire pit and seating were relaxing during the evening. There were a family of ducks that would walk right up to you. Which was cool. The front desk staff was accommodating and welcoming. I really appreciated the 11-7 quiet hours. Our room was ready early which was a nice surprise. I will definitely be staying here again.

Wife and I never can get away from Saint Joe for down time in the summer . Have been up here a Dozen times in January , Hotels are cheaper . We have driven by Tamarck Lodge dozens of times but thought it would cost to much to stay here. But this time I researched it before xmas and found it was only 106 bucks a nite the end of January so we booked 3 nite . The room was a corner suite , with lake view , fireplace, full kitchen , washer and dryer , separate bedroom and a bathroom to die for . Check out the pictures. Even had a lake side patio . ( to cold to use it but wow)

A few minutes from town, gorgeous location and huge condos. They have nice kitchens which worked great over the past few days we stayed here. They also have a nice relax feel to them like a cabin in the woods (which is actually what our house at home is) so it feels perfect. The best part is the deck with the chairs to relax and see the water. Love this place and we will be back. We come here every year and now this will be our stay.

Beautiful lodge, we loved our condo, it was like home away from home. They had everything one would need in a house.. just bring groceries and you are all set. Super friendly and helpful staff. We rented the 2bed 2bath condo for the memorial weekend. The Balcony overlooking the lake was amazing.. sunsets right outside the window. even though you can't see the sunrise. :) The second bedroom had no windows. Even though it had a fully equipped mini kitchen, bathroom and even separate entrance.. which can be used as a in-law quarters. . We did not use it much.. so we dint care.. but this might be disappointing if you are depending on the second bedroom. The Saturday brunch was decent.. and the evening born fire, local entertainment and s'mores was a nice touch Everything was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Due to covid (they say) extra work checking out. You had to take out your trash. Super strict on check in and checkout times.. 10Am vacation day check out was little early for me, with two kids.. Little on the pricy side. I also hoped that they would have some contact with some activities like jet ski, bike and boat rentals. But they just gave phone numbers.

    Extremely CLEAN!!! !!!

Everything is quality here. Top notch service. What is truly soothing to an OCD like me is the spotless entire 3bed 3bath an open kitchen with a beautiful Michigan Lake view suite. Highly recommend!

Hot darn this place is nice! The room is enormous! We stayed in a large Pinecone (one of the smallest rooms). It was a corner room with a view of the water from every window. There are two tvs, a full kitchen with appliances and dishes (even a Crock-Pot and blender), dishwasher, fireplace, jacuzzi tub (only fits one person sadly), a dining room, and a living room. This is the size of a nice apartment. There is no breakfast, but they host events almost every night. There is coffee & tea 24/7 in the lounge, as well as a pool table.. It's expensive for sure but if you go on the off season, it's reasonable for an upscale stay.

Loved our stay! The room was great, clean and cozy. The facility was big yet quaint and the front desk was very informative about policies but also about movie rentals and other things they offered. Seemed to be a bit quieter than I would assume the peak months are, so I think it would be fun to see the bar area opened and folks hanging out in the common area. The only downside was we weren't able to get in for an early checkin. When I called to confirm my reservation the day prior, the person I spoke with told me it may be possible, so he took my number and told me they'd call me when the room was ready. I never received a call, so when we arrived to checkin a little early we were denied. Also, everyone seemed to be super high strung about mask wearing. Not surprising but just another thing to prepare for. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would be back!

Note that is left under your door on check out day.

Overall not a bad place to stay. It's right on the beach with nice hangout area. Rooms a little dated and beds a little rough. There is no daily housekeeping. They leave a note under your door on morning of checkout (see pic) that I thought could be worded more gently

No worries, she had a walker, so a disaster was averted. I did let the front desk know, and they were aware of it, and stated that the location is due for updating soon, and that will be fixed. Checking into her room, Rm 214, it was massive, and I was very impressed by all the handrails in the bathroom. There were some negatives of the room though, there were only light switches right by the door when you walked it, and then only on the lamps throughout the room. My mother got up in the middle of the night and couldn't find a way to turn on any lights and had to call down to the front desk. The other negative was that the door of the bathroom, which is immediately to the right of the room door, when opened prevented you from entering the room. My mother has balance issues and called me to come in the room to help her out of the tub, and because she left the bathroom door open, I could not access the room. Her friend was sleeping but could come let me in after she heard me knocking. The next negative is the lack of wastebin liners. I spoke to the front desk and they told me it was company policy in an attempt to be 'greener'. Although I love this sentiment, I hated the smell of my food garbage permeating my room, and ended up walking it down to the lined trash bin next to the ice machine. Myself, and several other patrons staying at your facility, found ourselves requesting laundry bags so we could line our trash bins ourselves. I know they can be pricey, but may I suggest keeping biodegradable trash Bags on hand for those customers who request liners for their bins, rather than putting them in every room at every turnover? That is the end of my negative feedback, I rarely, if ever, enter public pools or spas, and annoyingly enough for my travel companions, I travel with a pool testing kit in my car because of my job. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the pool & spa, and they tested spot on, so I gave my blessing to the members of our party to go ahead and enjoy. I was upset that the first, and only time, we ate at the in-house restaurant/bistro, was after checking out. We had the most fabulous breakfast! Lastly, and most importantly, I would like to sing the praises of the staff at this location. They were always friendly, professional, and very helpful. My mother lost a nut from her walker, which was preventing her from using it. I brought the walker to the front desk hoping they might have a maintenance room where a spare nut could be located. I then had 6 people on the case. Jack, Josh, Laura, Alexandria, Pete and Rin. I was so astounded and appreciative that so many people were on the case. A nut was found, but didn't fit right, and wouldn't stay in place, so Pete & Josh went looking more thoroughly and found something that would fit AND stay in place. They fixed my mother's walker, which she is pretty much lost without. This level of service AMAZED me.

I just returned from a…read moreweekend stay and thought the overall property was well maintained, lobby was clean, room and hallways were clean. I have no complaints. If you are looking for a decent place where you will be comfortable, is close to local attractions, but not needing a lot of frills, this should meet your need. I think however this hotel benefits from not having much competition in the area for a modern hotel with luxury amenities. On the positive side, the best aspects are that the location is in walking distance to everywhere you would want to go for downtown bars and restaurants and the waterfront view is spectacular. The valet and desk staff were also friendly and helpful. The view at the rooftop restaurant / bar is awesome. On the downside, there is a high level of noise from the street and from nearby rooms. The walls are thin, and I could hear people next door talking and in the hallway. Also, the sheets on the bed are thin like paper towel and I was cold and had to wear a sweatshirt to bed to be warm. The bed itself is hard, not firm, but hard. I do not know what the bed is made of, but it seemed like plywood. Bed was uncomfortable, so at the end of a long day I did not get the relaxation of a good night sleep. Also, the bath products were small in proportion. Hand soap was a like a sliver of what you would throw away when you get to the end of a full bar. I would highly recommend making sure you bring your own shampoo, soap, body lotion and whatever bath products you like because you won't have them at this hotel. One other aspect that was an annoyance and not a huge deal was the television. You don't need a lot of television on vacation but it was exceptionally slow to change channels and was making it difficult to watch any television, so I mostly just watched one channel. If you will not be spending a lot of time at the hotel, but looking for a convenient and clean place that is friendly and in walking distance to bars, restaurants and attractions I think you would find this a good choice.

As you can see from the photo, this was the entire serving. At nearly $21 for a basket of fries, the portion felt completely unreasonable and not at all worth the price. I'm happy to pay for good food and a great atmosphere, but I expect the portion to at least feel appropriate for what I'm paying.
