I loved the drinks and vibes at Gatsby's! I had the seasonal Pumpkin Martini and Apple Cider Mule. The Pumpkin Martini was my favorite, it was sweet and tasted like cinnamon and pumpkin. The drinks were strong and well worth the price. Our bar tender was nice and easy to talk to. They have a popcorn machine that you can help yourself to for a snack. We came here as guests before a show at the theater down the street and ended up having a great experience! The bartender (I didn't get his name) was super friendly and made great drinks. She had a pumpkin spice martini (I know lol) and I had a Kentucky mule - both of which were perfect. There was a popcorn machine there with decent popcorn to snack on, but I don't think they have other food (could be wrong about that). Several folks had their dogs in the restaurant which made it even more fun. We'll be back for sure! read more

It's a fine bar with a decent ambiance. Has pool tables and dartboards, a few couches. Unfortunately when we went the restaurant was not opened as there were some changes in requirements for the health department and the kitchen was making pivots to ensure they could comply. As such, we asked for reccs for food around here but they don't have a ton of suggestions. We each got a featured cocktail/martini priced at 14 per drink. They were fine, but I wouldn't say worth 14 per beverage. One was with deep eddy's vodka and another with standard gin, which felt a little lower tier for a 14 dollar cocktail. read more

This is a quiet neighborhood bar tucked in the cut and very low key. Every time I've been here it's been nearly empty. The best bartender was Gary who actually remembers us when we come in. This is where you go if you just want a nice cocktail and a chill vibe. My only issue is that the last time I went, we were overcharged for a lemon drop that was supposed to be a special according to the drink board and we were charged extra for tonic for a Tito's and tonic. First time visiting this place as much as I pass by it. The bartenders were nice and attentive. I tried the corpse reviver which had gin in it , it tasted good. The next drink was the el Diablo which had tequila and ginger beer in that one tasted good as well. The inside was nice and had plenty of seating as well as an outdoor patio. I will have to come back on a Sunday to try there mimosa flights. Only downside was there drink portions were small considering it's priced at $12 read more

We had great drinks and service during our visit. The only piece I would adjust is the wild paint in the bathroom that doesn't really match the 1920s prohibition decor out in the main room. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy your time and a food truck outside so you can purchase food and still come in the bar with your dog. I saw on the calendar that they host adoption events for animals here which is such a worthy cause that I would love to support. We had a great time and will absolutely be back for some of their bingo or trivia one night in the future. read more

I ordered a drink and two gnats got into my drink. I showed the bartender and the bartender said "too bad". I would think most bars would replace the drink. This bartender also told "next time cover your drink with a napkin". What bars would have you to cover your drinks with a napkin, maybe the bar should get rid of the gnats. read more

We hosted our 10 year high school reunion here, and we could not have picked a more perfect location! The owners went above and beyond to work with us to make our event special from creating signature cocktails (complete with branded signage) to displaying a special message for our alumni on their digital billboard. The event space, itself, was spotless and the drinks were amazing! The bar also has its own food truck that they served us from, and the food was delicious! Altogether, I can't say enough about how kind, creative and flexible the management and staff were at this place. 10 out of 10 would organize another event here at any time of the year! read more

I was so excited for this place to open. They are right across the street from my house and thought "oooh, maybe I'll have a neighborhood bar now I can be a regular at!" Yes, I can literally walk to Gatsby's - but have only been there 3 or 4 times in the year they've been open. Service is generally lackluster and prices seem to have gone up - $14 for (some) of their mixed drinks for where they are located is just WAY too much - they need to be in downtown Raleigh for me to be willing to pay something like that. (which is probably why I never go downtown? *haha*) $12 is probably my max, and $10 feels more ideal. There used to be a woman who bartended there when they first opened and she was super friendly with great service. But the few other times I've been back haven't been anything to write home about. Service is meh and subsequent bartenders (including the owner) are not friendly. And my most recent visit might be my last. I popped in at 2 pm on a Saturday after a bunch of errands, planning to relax for a bit with a book. I was the only one standing at the bar ordering, there was one couple sitting at one of the back couches, and a small group doing some Wine and Design painting in another area- in other words, not crowded or busy. I asked for a drink that was one of their specials back in the fall. He made it for me but I didn't see him put alcohol in so I asked what exactly was in the drink and he named everything except the alcohol and I just looked at him and said....and what alcohol? And he was like "oh man, I forgot! Vodka!!" I guess I'll choose to believe it was an honest mistake, but c'mon!! Drink also seemed super weak. I sat down at one of the tables with my book, finished my first drink within 5 minutes and was planning on getting a few more, but he never came back to check on me or ask if I wanted another. So I closed my tab and left. They lost about $50 as I was planning on relaxing there for a few hours before heading back home across the street. read more

Drinks were ok but way overpriced. Not strong either. They have specials on the wall that when we asked for them the bartender told us they did not exist. Then why are they up?! It just seemed to us he didn't feel like doing them. Service was among the worst I have ever had. Bartender named Mike kept ignoring us despite us sitting directly at the bar. We ordered 2 more drink prior to 9 (8:45pm) & he never got them for us claiming he was too busy yet we watched him make 2 drinks for another customer who walked up after us asking for our drinks. When we asked him about it he got loud, rude, & condescending with us. The owner was sitting across from us & let all of that happen so it really lets us know that they are ok with that behavior. Oh but wait definitely check you bank statements after going there because he added a very generous tip to himself on his own behalf on my tab. That is fraud!! There are far better bars with excellent service & way better drinks in raleigh to even consider this one. If I could give it zero stars I would. read more
