The menu looked great and the place was obviously busy. We were seated at what our server apologetically noted was the last table in the house (for good reason). It took us about 10-15 minutes to get our glasses of water and for somebody to come by and take our drink order. We ordered a couple of whiskey cocktails and contentedly people-watched and checked out the sports shows playing on the various TV sets while we waited. And waited. And waited. Our water glasses slowly ran dry. Attempts to catch the eye and get the attention of the very occasional passing server (from across the neighboring tables, as we were crowded against a wall) were unsuccessful. Nobody came by the table to see how we were doing. And nobody brought us our drinks. After waiting for about 45 minutes, we left. Was here last night. Worst bar in Sunriver in my opinion. Conference at the resort and the place was packed. They had band playing 80's butt rock and they were way loud. Not near enough staff working. 10 minutes standing at the bar to get one weak ass jackncoke. Wont be back up in here read more

The very overpriced and marginal food at best can almost be expected in a resort that feels they have a captive audience, but in the three visits we made here over the last two week the thing that stood out the most was the staff! And not in a good way! Each and every visit the staff treated us as if they were doing us a favor by serving us. OK. There seems to be two kinds of reviews here, location and view, which IS a 5*, and food, which is a 2*. My food was a 2*, or less. I had a Twisted Club sandwich, which tasted like it came straight out of a grocery deli. The meats were simple deli slices. Not locally or kitchen roasted meats. Cold. No remarkable flavor, it was simple. I will say my wife's fish taco meal was huge (3 of them) and expensive (at $25). But it was good. The other reviewers are right. The food quality and value for money was way better when this was the Owl's Nest. read more

What happened to the Owl's Nest! The warm, rustic ambiance of Sunriver Resort has been replaced with a confused wanna be trendy city bar. This was a sad find after frequently this beautiful place for over twenty years. The menu at Twisted River was lacking. There wasn't much that got our attention, so we stuck to a shared Flatbread, which was pretty good. For it being just the beginning of the holiday season, to find a bar out of Hot Buttered Rum was unacceptable. The prices were high for what was received and service was merely mediocre, not like we had found and became accustomed to in years past. Sadly this may change our future holiday traditions. read more

I agree 110% with the review from Karen 8/11/2017. To begin with, there was no lighting over our table or a candle to attempt to read the menu. Fish and Chips for $26 was truly pathetic. No Salad or coleslaw served with two small deep fried pieces of fish! The fries were greasy and many were from the bottom of the vat. My sons club sandwich bread and bacon were burnt and came with avsmall serving of cottage cheese for $18.00. We would only go back for the Deschutes Beer! A crying shame as this is the place I had a one of the best servings of Chicken Waffles ~ 8 years ago. One of the worst nights of heart burn in a long time.... read more

I was at the Twisted River restaurant on Sept 5th around 6pm for dinner and drinks. We were a party of 5 sitting outside. It was my daughter's birthday and she had requested we go here because we had loved it back when it was the Owl's Nest. We informed the server that it was her birthday and he could not have cared less. His attitude and service level was so bad we should have left before ordering drinks but we decided to give him a chance. It only went down hill from there. We ended up leaving after 1 drink and went to a restaurant in the Village that not only cared about her birthday but gave us complimentary desserts. We gave them many of our dollars with a huge tip for the waiter that cared and was excellent! Sorry we don't remember the waiters name at Twisted River but he smelled like cigarettes and we were not the only table that left. Absolutely terrible. read more

Taylor is my favorite server at Twisted River. The food was great too. We like the HH small plates.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The service is awful. The staff would rather you not be there. The bartenders are all snarky, in addition to being terrible actual bartenders. But out of all of the staff, Stacey, the maitre d', is the worst. On 12/30/19, we checked in a group of 8 and were served 3 hours later after she lost our place on the list. When we asked about our table, she was flat out nasty, mean, and self-defensive. By the way, if you're a group over 4, make the effort to go off resort. They can't handle it. It's too hard for them. The Twisted River is a bad stain on an otherwise awesome resort. read more

Went here for a late night meal while staying at the resort. We got there around 9pm and they close at 10pm so everything seemed to be winding down. Our server was named Frank and he did a great job. We ordered the Sunriver burger, a chicken Caesar salad, some wings, and some French onion soup. All of the food was good and came out in a timely manner. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and we really loved the fireplace and the light music playing in the background. If you don't feel like venturing out to Bend for dinner, this is definitely an option. read more

First time in since this place remodeled from The Owl's Nest. It was okay. Menu didn't have much that interested us... we preferred the offerings on the Owl's Nest menu. I ordered the steak salad, hubs ordered the ahi tuna salad... both were tasty. $15-$20 price range... expected at a resort restaurant. When we're back in Sunriver we'll likely head somewhere else for our date-night... which is disappointing because we've been coming here (when on vacation) for 13 years. read more

We sat here for lunch. Beautiful views and attentive service. The roasted vegetable salad had cauliflower flower, broccoli, and carrots--very unique and tasty. Good portion size for a salad. My husband had the cheesesteak, and hitch he thought was a bit overpriced, but flavorful. Prices a little high, but to be expected at the resort. read more

Worst meal we've had in Sunriver or Bend, and expensive. Service was not good and they were not that busy. Paying for the great view.

We love Sunriver but finding food can be a challenge since it is often overpriced and not great. We were hesitant to eat at the lodge for this reason but decided to give the Twisted River Tavern a try since the atmosphere is so nice overlooking the golf course looking at the Cascades. Our lunch was great! The arugula and beet salad was FABULOUS- I splurged for the steak and it was by far the best meal I have had in a week! The kids menu was also great and reasonably priced. We also got some burgers which we would rate 8/10 (we are hard on burgers). Waiter, Weston, was great too! read more

Great service. Ordered a ice cream to go with our main order and our waiter stored it in the freezer for us till we left. We also never saw the bottom of our glasses. This place was on it. The Livingroom also has great service, the restaurant attached to this bar. Food was good. I would definitely recommend the Salmon Sandwich. read more

My chicken Caesar salad was way overpriced, the chicken dry and tough. My husbands fish and chips had minimal fish, thickly battered and cold fries, also overpriced for the quality of the food. Very disappointed in our lunch where we went to celebrate our 43rd anniversary. read more

We have been coming to SR since 1975. The lodge has always been one of the special highlights of any trip. The Meadows and Owl's Nest have been replaced with a more modern vibe. Looks like the resort picked a designer to decorate and create the new space with ZERO understanding for Sunriver's past. The once elegant (although admittedly dated) northwest rustic lodge appeal was replaced with a retro diner/market place something or other. The gorgeous lava rock fire place remains in tact. If everything could have been modernized, new and improved, I would totally respect that and be grateful. The food has generally gone down hill and is extremely expensive. The French onion soup is a tasty starter and we split some wings. Six wings come with several dipping sauces so one does not have to choose just one. The halibut and chips comes with two pieces of fish (VERY heavily breaded with very little fish). Fries were quite good. Overall, the price of food ($23 for fish and chips) was very high with the quality being just okay. The service was good (attentive and friendly). I wish I could be more positive but want to be fair in my review. The Resort has work to do if they want to attract the locals who can provide repeat year-round business. read more
