First time using the laundry service. The white linens came back gray with dark grey patterns as if something dark was placed on top of them that bled through. White t-shirt now grey. One thing that I really miss about living in Hell's Kitchen is our dry cleaners. Oxford Cleaners is so reliable and if you live in the area, they do free delivery. I really appreciated how they always delivered when they said that they would deliver. If you needed something in a pinch, they could usually help you out and expedite things so that you received your item cleaned on time and ready for whatever event you needed to dress to impress! I also really appreciated how the owners always recognized me and remembered my preferences. Really great service and they tailor! read more

Honest & Competent. Have had a few things cleaned here with no issue. Asked them to fix a broken zipper on a waxed cotton jacket. The owner told me it looks like I just needed to replace the zipper pull and told me where I could go to fix it. The zipper place charged me $5 to replace the pull. The technician was SHOCKED that the dry cleaner didn't simply charge me $30 and just replace the part themselves. He said that's what most places do. Honest & Competent. Yup. read more

I've worked in New York for the last year (live out of town), and often drop off my dress shirts to be laundered on Friday and pick them up Monday. I generally go to places close to my hotel and client, and when I stay in Times Square I have usually gone to Oxford. They normally do a decent (but not great) job, but the convenience kept me going back. Not anymore. I dropped shirts off a couple weeks ago and picked them up to find that one white shirt had acquired splatterings of pink and purple all over one sleeve and on the collar. How the hell this happened I have no clue, and the owner didn't know either and offered to redo the shirt. Fine. When I went to pick it up, surprise surprise the giant stains were still on there. Rather than trying to make things right as this obviously happened sometime after I dropped the shirt off, he told me that I must have stained the shirt (with all the pink and purple markers I have??) and that it's not his fault. Right. He tried cleaning the shirt one more time and again no real improvements, no apologies, and no solutions. Shirt went right into the trash. I guess Oxford is willing to lose repeat customers rather than apologize for a mistake that happened under their care. For that reason I will not be returning, and you should definitely think twice before taking your clothing here. read more

I went in a little over a month ago to have some shirts cleaned. When I picked them up, I did not see anything wrong with them. When I went to put them on however I realized one of the shirts was now covered in brown marks all over the front and back. The shirt was not wearable. When I brought the shirt in to see if it could be fixed they told me they would not fix it because I did not bring it into the store in the bag. They refused to work with me to remedy the situation and fix the shirt they ruined. In addition, the shirts they do clean are picked up already wrinkled and they do not clean leather despite advertising so in the window. I will never be going back to this establishment and if you desire to pick up your clothes in the condition you dropped them off in, neither should you. read more

Ok cleaners. This cleaners in conveniently located a short walk from Times Square. I got same day service but was disappointed with my suit jacket because it did not smell fresh when I picked it up, however my skirt was flawlessly cleaned and pressed. I would not make this my go-to cleaners if I lived in NYC, but this place was close to my hotel and a fraction of the price of hotel dry cleaning so it worked for what I needed. read more

Really disappointed with Oxford Cleaners who lost the lining to a wool coat. The cashmere lining was essential to the coat and they have taken no responsibility for this and refuse to admit that it was never returned with the coat. Not only did I pay an additional charge to have the lining cleaned, but it was never returned and now an expensive coat has been ruined. We had been using them previously with no other issues but this was a serious and costly mistake for us. read more

Had the sleeves on my coat shortened and they did great job. I wanted the design of the sleeve to be retained so they had to remove the lower part, shorten the sleeve and then sew back on the lower, decorative part to make it look just as it originally looked (only shorter). At first I was a bit worried that they might not have understood what I wanted but it came out perfect for about $35.00. I am very happy!! read more

I got a load back that smelled half-clean, like dirty socks were added in the dryer. It drove me nuts for a bit thinking I just had really bad body odor for a few days. Laundry has also increased 10 cents per pound (hey, it matters, alright?). It's not enough to knock my rating down to three stars, but it's somewhat disappointing. read more

Sadly used Oxford Cleaners on Lexington and 64th street. Gave them 3 black silk caftans and they returned them to me completely faded. These are made out of an Italian silk they should have never had faded. The manager told me every time you dry clean something the color comes out of it. This has never happen to me I dry clean all the time. The man was rude, told me I had no sense. I brought the caftans up the street to a very fine tailor and he said they didn't know how to treat the silk and was treated incorrectly. This is a neighborhood dry cleaner that everyone should avoid. Not only do they not know what they were doing, they were rude and just don't care. read more

I tend not to write reviews but after several poor experiences I feel compelled to do so. This is the WORST Dry cleaner I have been ever been to. This is not a perfect world, sometimes things go wrong, but even when given the opportunity to make it right they make it worse. I took a beige skirt to the cleaner, you know how light clothes can get a light film on them after a few wears, no stains, just like a film of dust. I took my skirt to the cleaner and it came back with several BLACK stains. I make a point of highlighting specific stains to cleaners to ensure they focus on getting them out, they agreed that the skirt did not come in with those stains, so they took it back to try and get "their stains" out. It took 3 attempts and then came back with 2 side seams I.e they didn't press / steam it properly so it had a 2nd ironed in seam on the side. I tried again and took both a black & a blue skirt to the cleaner, they came back with light scorch marks, you know like when you leave something hot on dark cloth. They said its the fabric not them. I took a light colored skirt and a top to them with small ink marks, they couldn't remove the marks and said "Oh pen marks are hard to remove in a dismissive manner. I took clothing that I had hand washed and just wanted pressed, the skirt, top and pants came back more crushed than I gave it to them. Once I took an item home , hand washed it even though it was not supposed to be hand washed, got the stain out and took it to another cleaner, had it pressed- no problem. Another time they even wanted to charge me when they had to repeatedly clean an item that had gone in without but came back with stains. Apparently everything is hard to remove for this cleaner. The only reason I ever went to this cleaner was that it is right next to my office and I had moved home and my usual dry cleaner is now 45 mins each way from my house, so I can't always get there. As you can see I took several different types of clothing with different requirements and they failed in virtually every case over time. With all the items above, I ended up taking them to my old cleaner, yes I made a 1.30 hrs round trip and they got all the stains out, without any issue, and gave everything back with only the original seams not multiple ironed-in seams. Guess I will be making a 1.30hr round trip from now on, this dry cleaner is not worth the time or money. Never had any tailoring there so can't comment on that. I gave it one star, merely for its location. read more
