Came here for the all you can eat pho! I've never had AYCE pop before. They have two options, with or without unlimited meat. We just needed a carb fix and went without the unlimited option. The pho was good, but there is better. The portion for the limited meat was decent. The service was good but it took a couple tries to get our water, but they were attentive and helped us when we were running low on noodles and soup. Discovered this pho place that does AYCE pho hot pot style. They have a basic and premium option. Came with the gas stove so its like hot pot, cook as u go. It offers everything you would get in a signature pho, so beef, beef tendons, beef tripe, beef balls etc. Really enjoy it! Soup had no msg so o didnt feel thirsty after. I really do feel bad for giving this place a 2 stars (the staff were very nice and the playlist was banging) but the pricing was pretty absurd. We payed 70$ (including tip) for 2 regular bowls of pho and 2 ice iced coffees. This translates to a 25$ bowl of pho, and a 10$ iced coffee per person. Comparatively, you can get the same order at Pho Tien Tan, the reference for pho in Toronto, for about 55$ (~20% difference). I understand the cost of ingredients is high these days, but its hard to justify such a steep cost as a customer. From a personal perspective, I wasn't a fan of the broth; the daikon rendered it a bit too sweet and it overall lacked flavor. The beans sprouts and the Thai basil also came as part of the pho as opposed to separately, which was unusual. The menu was also extremely confusing to navigate. It was a kind of DIY, choose your protein and garnishes menu, where the separation between one item and the next was hard to tell. Oh, and the Vietnamese coffee tasted a bit weird. Hotpot pho is an interesting concept but not that fun when attempted in practice. It was fun to try once but I probably would not go for it again... Not only was the food experience underwhelming, but the service was also very slow. We ordered an oxtail add on that we never got, and the refills for AYCE took a while to get to us. The space was fairly empty when we went, and music only started playing near the end of our visit. I would consider returning if I wanted Vietnamese food and I was in the area, but only if someone else was insistent on it. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for years, and I finally got to try it! I went around 4 PM for a late lunch/early dinner and ordered the Oxtail Pho. The staff consisted of one person probably since it was still early (they open at 4PM-4AM), and he was very friendly! I would highly recommend the Oxtail Pho. The broth was flavorful, and the meat was tender, falling off the bone. The portion was adequate, though I thought it could have been larger considering the price. However, this is one of the few Vietnamese restaurants I've found that serves Oxtail Pho, so I understand the markup--oxtail is expensive. The dish came with about 5-6 pieces of oxtail and 4 beef balls. The noodles were decent. I would definitely come back for it again! It wasn't busy at all, but this place stays open till late and also serves alcohol. I tried the Mojito, and you can definitely taste the alcohol. read more

This place is very close to my place of work and I finally decided to drop by for an early dinner. The decour is quaint, cozy and & homey and service friendly and efficient. I ordered a standard pho with rare rib eye beef. Everything was fine, a decent bowl of pho and price point is a little high considering the location which I am ok with but the beef broth was very lacking in flavour and seasoning. To me it was very watered down. I don't think I'll go back anytime soon. They do have an AYCE pho hot pot which is unique, great for family style or sharing with friends. The veggie pho is fully loaded with vegetables and it's vegetarian and vegan friendly. Service could be a bit slow sometimes but please bear with her , there's only one person working and it's the owner. I had the special beef pho and it was fantastic. Came here for the 2nd time. I would say it is my go to oxtail soup place. I loved the broth, super rich and flavourful for sure. Ordered and shared the trio Banh mi sampler which included the roasted duck, bbq pork and Lemongrass pork. Hands down my fav would be the lemon grass pork, then the bbq pork (cause I love bbq pork in general) then the roast duck. All were super yummy, the bread was perfectly toasted. Oxtail pho opens late, not as crowded Pho pastur for the after club / concert eating. If you have cravings of pho it is a good option in downtown. Unfortunately I have tried their other dishes and it wasn't as good as other traditional Vietnamese shops. But the Pho is decent, everything is assembled for you and you don't have to worry about putting it all together. I give this place a solid 3.5 stars out of five I ordered the noodle dish with dill fish, I was hoping it to be the same as the bun ca cha hai phong from pho anh vu, but it wasn't. So they are bustling with the hustling lol. Although the dishes were all good, my favourites were: 1. Chicken red curry with rice. It was tasty and mild. There were plenty of chicken slices to share with my friends. 2. Basa fish fillet. Loved this. The batter was not oily nor heavy, making the fish easy to eat. 3. Crispy spring roll. The spring rolls are big and definitely crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Super delicious! 4. Ox tail pho. Nice flavorful soup. The ox tail was meaty. And lots of beef balls. I liked that because many pho places put like 2 or 3 beef balls and that's it. 5. Vietnamese iced coffee. Not a coffee drinker but I loved this one. Wish it was refillable lol. The service was good. They were quick to bring us the dishes and anything else we wanted. Even after we finished our meal, they didn't push for us to leave immediately and offered us more water. I do not enjoy giving local businesses bad reviews, especially during the pandemic. I want to support local. I can admit to being particular, but won't nitpick on purpose. But on my one and only visit here I was in and out of the place in 5 minutes and I'll most likely never go back because of what could have been easily avoided. In speaking with who I believe were the owners I went in based on a past recommendation. I didn't immediately notice this, but the man and woman working there weren't wearing masks. After ordering and paying for the food, I looked into the kitchen and realized this. I didn't want to go off about it, but after deliberating I said to them that I hated to ask, but it would make me more comfortable if they were wearing masks while making my food. The gentleman said something about having just been out but found a mask, apologized and put it on. But the woman (who'd excused not wearing a mask because the man is her husband) didn't wear one. Finally I asked again, saying wasn't she concerned about people coming in if she wasn't wearing a mask. I then said I wasn't comfortable with her not masking and making my food. At this point she asked if I wanted my money back and I said yes. You shouldn't have to ask they should already be wearing a mask and if they had been they'd have gotten the business that they ended up refunding. This experience has become emblematic of an intensely frustrating and recurring issue which is restaurant employees not masking properly or at all. I want to support local restaurants but can't if they continue with doing this type of thing. Nem nuong Banh mi was not on a proper banh mi bun. The bun itself was just thick, dense and dry. Banh da cua was so bad. Had a funky smell and taste. Ox tail pho - was supposed to be their signature dish but the broth was not flavourful. The huge radishes they put in the soup were soft and rubbery (tasted like an old vegetable). Came across this delightful Vietnamese place with a patio for lunch. The vermicelli with grilled lemongrass pork belly was delicious with sweet caramelized pork and fragrant fresh herbs. I love oxtail and I so wanted to love it! first it was a super hot day and The air conditioning is just not working. then I found out in order to get the oxtail soup it had to be a large size which I know I can it finish . I actually have to request for less noodle which is kinda silly but I didn't want to waste food. I also got the spring rolls and my husband got the large special pho. spring roll was excellent I have to say, crispy , very meaty tasting. It had glass noodle in there which I liked. then the pho came. the soup was good. perfect tasting. The meat was so so. the oxtail pieces were small and full of bones. It has daikon, meatballs, 5x oxtails, and side order of herbs + bean sprouts as toppings. The menu is fairly simple in terms of description, and is very lacking in photos. Really weird but this place used to be a ghetto karaoke spot. I came here for pho cuz I heard it was new and it was highly recommended by friends. When I sat inside I felt that the place was really familiar and realized I had been here in its past life. LOL! I ordered the oxtail pho and an ice coffee and I was blown away. Their oxtail meat is super tender! I'm pretty sure they sousvide the oxtail, which is why it's red in color but perfectly tender. I also added an egg to my pho which is such a big plus. Broth was really good as well. Their coffee is amazing. I also ordered one Togo I loved it so much. I ended up coming here 5 days in a row on my vacation. It sounds ridiculous I know. Now since I did come 5 days in a row, I noticed that the consistency changed pretty often. First day was great, 2nd day broth tasted kind of old. 3rd day broth tasted too new. 4th day was good, 5th day was good. For that I knocked it down to 4 stars... I just got two red chicken curries and the sauce was like water it lacked any flavour and they both have more tofu than chicken. One curry only had two pieces of chicken in it and ALL tofu.
