Well, 4 years ago I made a post that I would never come here again. I lied. I came again today. I do declare ... I will not come back here again ... and I mean it lol. I'm adding on a star because nothing was dirty this time, and the lady got my order right. But the food still sucked. It was a little more edible than last time (ordered my old usual: noodles, cabbage, orange chicken, and teriyaki chicken) .. but the only thing I really liked was the cabbage to be honest. We ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and Orange Chicken, both on rice. They didn't offer free drink refills, so we purchased it a few doors down. The portions were generous for $5.99 each. The food was okay, but service on the other hand was unfortunately awful. The cashier and staff were dismissive and quite rude. Let's be honest, Japanese food at the mall is delicious. Okay, I just wanted to get that out of the way. This place is located right in the food court at the Walden Galleria and thanks to the gentleman handing out free samples of the orange chicken (at a mall, the Japanese place can serve whatever they want) and it was really really good. So after my delicious free sample I decided It would be in my best interest to get the Orange Chicken meal with white rice on the side for lunch! I have no problem with my mall food being pre-made and thrown in a container right in front of me, in fact, it's probably why I'm getting it anyway, fast and cheap. My meal and a fruit punch came to around $7.50 and I have no complaints, solid food court food! read more

Other than the fact that it's in a mall food court this place has good food and it's very efficient on time in line. So it makes for a perfect lunch destination. Don't expect friendly service (the staff won't openly insult you, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone here smile and at this point would be a little concerned if they did) and don't order the orange chicken, which comes in a not-quite-citrusy syrup that becomes cloying after a few bites. But the chicken teriyaki is as good as it gets. It's tender and juicy and usually cooked right there in front of you, and comes served on a bed of rice or noodles -- just the thing for soaking up the sauce. You can double up on the meat, but don't undersell the option to get it with vegetables; their shredded cabbage is cooked right to the point where it's soft, but still retains a little crunch. I found a huge piece of bone (by biting down on it) in my chicken. The chicken was kind of gross honestly. The employees are super pushy and fast paced too. Which makes no sense because you have to wait in line for your food to cook on the plancha anyway! Plus, the guy cooking the chicken used the same utensils on the raw chicken as he did on the cooked chicken. No wonder I was running to the bathroom shortly after eating. Ugh. The fry guy was finishing off cooking the chicken and when he was dividing all the finished meat for the 3 of us, I got the bad part of the stick! He gave the couple more meat and mine was obviously much less. When they walked away, I stood there. One of the fry guys said, "Go, you can take it." This is and has been for many years, my go to place for food when I'm at the mall. It's the same process every time too, I walk into the food court pretending I have no idea they give out free samples and act as if that free sample made me change my mind to eat there (I've been doing this since I was little because I used to think by doing that, they would think that free samples helped change people's minds to eat there hahaha). I then proceed to order chicken teriyaki, only noodles, double meat. This place is consistently delicious and very confused with the bad reviews. The flavor is awesome, my favorite Chinese dish is lo mein (I understand this is a Japanese restaurant) and the noodles here have more flavor than any Chinese lo mein that I've ever had. The place is pretty cheap and has good portions. They will occasionally cheap you out when they have just a small portion left and instead of putting more on the grill they try to just pawn it off on you and hope you to go away. You guys clearly don't understand where you are eating. The chicken is fantastic - boneless thighs which, although fattier than boneless breasts, are much more flavorful (dark meat). The meal isn't about the vegetables, or even the rice. You are 95% paying for the chicken and the rest is for plate decoration. Although I do also love the rice :) The Japanese culture is a much faster-paced culture than the one we live in...you can't blame them for that. If you go to New York City or any large metropolitan area you will notice the same. Life moves quickly there and that's the style they are used to. Stopped to get a bite to eat while shopping. We sampled the Kato chicken and the chicken teriyaki and both were good but we decided to get the Kato chicken. You can get it with white or fried rice and also get. Vegetable. We both skipped a veggies and one opted for the egg roll. Our only mistake was getting two entrées. The food awesome!!! The service horrible!! I work at the mall so I have eaten here more than once!!! Every single time I went to eat here it was because of the food and the EASY WOK next to them was closed. No explanations on what you order or combine!!! And as soon as you say it isn't what you want they look at you with this condescending look as if you are the worst and lowest form of person. they rush you through your order, they throw the plate at you(metaphorically), and yet they beg you to take their food sample when you walk by them!!!
