A lovely place. The sushi is fresh, the service is good. Their lunch specials come with a small bowl of miso soup. Good sized portions. A very good selection of sushi and for those who don't care for sushi, they have many other offerings as well.

Lunch special: Two rolls (with miso soup) $12.99. These are shrimp tempura roll and smoked salmon roll.

We were there for lunch and we were quickly seated. The restaurant is dark wood and smooth jazz, with a huge glass sculpture behind the sushi bar. The extensive menu features not only omakase ($35 minimum per person) but also sea urchin and Spanish mackerel. Hand rolls, sushi and sashimi, as well as grilled, fried, and stir fried entrees. Beer, wine, and sake available; also many soft drinks. We had a great time. We'll be back!

I have been meaning to try Wasabi for a while. The interior didn't do much for me so I ordered take out. I would say it's ok ... so what I ordered was 3 of their house rolls - when looking at my picture: Top is scorpion (shrimp tempura topped with eel), middle was called spicy family, bottom was called wasabi cake, topped with tobico. All of the rolls were good. I wouldn't say any jumped out to me though. They also didn't give us chopsticks and it was kind of weird and not as great eating with a fork. Not bad food or anything by any means but also wasn't my personal favorite - there is a "wow" factor missing.

My son and I came here for his belated birthday dinner. It was a bit smaller than I thought it would be inside, but it was fine. They had a decent selection on the menu. My son ordered the sushi & sashimi and thought it was OK, but not as fresh as he had it at Fuji Grill. He also had shrimp tempura and said it was good. I got the TonKatsu pork and it was delicious. The pan fried pork Gyoza was delicious. I also got the beef Negimaki, which was good. My salad was delicious, my mixed veggies were delicious, but I did not care for my rice. It just wasn't very good. And I didn't like the consistency of it. The employees were very nice, especially the one gentleman. I don't know if he was the owner or what, but he was really nice and funny. Prices weren't too bad. We both agreed we would definitely go back.

It's a casual sushi place with decent food. Wasabi was named Best Sushi in Northtowns in 2021 by the Buffalo Spree magazine. Was I fully satisfied with the silly sushi boat choice? With my already lowered expectations, I'd say possibly maybe, but come on! It's supposed to be the Titanic! :) Seated overlooking the sushi chefs was cool, but with a clutter of takeout containers etc. in the foreground, it was less fun or enjoyable. I wasn't thrilled about the service either. Our server was friendly, but we experienced some issues, which unfortunately annoyed me. Asking if we wanted forks or chopsticks was unusual. Bring both if there is any confusion. Also, if I ordered a can of Sapporo beer, I'd like to have a can of beer on my table. The server should have asked if we wanted him to pour our drinks and if the answer was yes he should have done it at our table. It wasn't the case. The plastic straws were already in our water glasses. Also, the table was sticky, and the plates were not sparkly clean. Ordering a sushi boat should have a "wow effect" in my opinion. It all depends on the presentation. Wasabi's Titanic wasn't that great. As for the food, we loved the thick cut sashimi. The sushi was very good, too. I expected the special rolls to be a bit bigger. The Super Dynamite roll was deep fried (my least favorite kind). It was served warm and the cream cheese wasn't particularly appealing. The Rainbow Roll was tiny, but full of flavor. Next time, if I want to celebrate something, I won't choose Wasabi. Their food is good, so maybe my best option would be just order take out. With a bottle of bubbles and the comfort of any place I choose, it would be the best combination possible.

I normally go to the elmwood location, but this night I decided to come here. This location is bigger than elmwoods restaurant, so if you want to dine in come here. As always I enjoy the sushi from wasabi. I feel they have the best sushi in Buffalo. The prices is on the higher side, but every cent is worth it

I decided to give this place another shot after my last experience and was pleasantly surprised with how much better it was. The food was actually still warm this time (and I even had it DoorDashed) and the amount of food was perfect! I paid $12.50 for this lunch combo and was very happy with it.

Food was great, as was the service and ambience....smaller than I expected...we called ahead for a table of 6 hungry family celebrating a Buff State graduation... prices very fair

Had a pleasant dinner! Portions were great and not too salty, which is rare for me! I loved their salad dressing...it was refreshing. The miso soup was great too. Will gladly order from them again :)

Our usual takeout order plated at home. I love that we can almost always get Sea Urchin and Salmon Roe.

I love the friendly, family vibe at Wasabi. I am always greeted with a warm welcome and am asked how my family is. I love the dedication to the classic American preparations of sushi, but in an elevated way. It's super easy to customize the classic rolls, which make the foundation of our typical order. Add in some premium nigiri and some hand rolls and you have some of the most impressive sushi in the area. Pro tip: they sometimes have quail egg if you ask for it.

Wasabi has been my go to sushi spot for 10+ years, and I always prefer it over other local sushi spots. I keep coming back for their great 3 roll lunch special - you choose 3 sushi rolls and you also get a delicious miso soup or salad. The sushi ingredients always have a fresh taste to them, and they're always presented beautifully when served. I just recently started getting the shrimp shumai and the dumplings - both come with an amazing lemony soy sauce that I love - I highly recommend trying either! The staff is always very attentive and friendly when dining in. We also like to order our food to go, and we typically never have to wait more than 20 minutes. Parking is in the Dash's plaza back lot, which can get a little busy but there are more than enough spots.

Some of the best sushi in the Amherst area. Fish is fresh and they are very organized for takeout. Their spicy tune is excellent.

Service was prompt and to the point. Very respectful staff Food- Had many of the sushi rolls Rainbow, Chopper, kamikaze and Akazaru. Every single roll was amazing and full of taste. I don't know where they get their fish from but it is some of the freshest fish I've had in the area. Also had the spicy miso ramen which was another perfectly made meal. The spice was full of taste but not so hot that it took away from the meal 10/10 restaurant.

There were no other tables seated when we arrived. We were seated quickly by a friendly waiter and our order was taken as soon as we were ready. We ordered a hot tea, a pumkin korokke (because it was new to both of us), scallop & shrimp hibachi lunch and sushi sashimi lunch with salad. The tea came out in a plastic pot, which I found kind of odd and was not a fan of; neither was my dad. The tea itself was tasty, but I'm not sure what kind it was. The pumpkin cake was good. Basically mashed pumpkin battered and fried. It came out super fresh and hot with a sweet chili dipping sauce. The salad was okay; the dressing was not very gingery or carroty, more creamy with a sweet taste. Our main meals were good. Nothing that knocked our socks off, but great portions for the price. The place could use a little sprucing up. It was not super clean and some decor seemed to be old/need fixing.

I've been wanting to try this place since it opened, and finally made it there on a Friday (that…read morehas weekend pricing contrary to online information.) Service is great. The food is pretty good, too, but the pictures and information aren't always accurate. For example, the salmon cheese roll includes avocado and tobiko according to both the picture and the description (so basically a Philly roll), but my order only came with the salmon and cream cheese. Fortunately I didn't get the food waste penalty. The appetizers are great. I had calimari, shrimp, and crab rangoon. The rolls are pretty good, too, apart from the aforementioned disappointment. The drinks are good, but I was disappointed plum wine wasn't on the menu even though one of the cocktails includes plum wine. I never did get a visit from the robocat. Probably the most expensive all-you-can-eat sushi establishment I've been to, but fine for an occasional treat.

I've visited Wind enough times, both for dine-in and takeout, to feel comfortable giving a detailed…read morereview. Dining In: 3 Stars The strongest part of this restaurant is the food itself. The flavors are good, portions are good (has per piece option for AYCE), and most dishes taste fresh and enjoyable. - this part deserves a 4-5 stars Unfortunately, the dine-in experience doesn't match the quality of the food. Presentation is often underwhelming and inconsistent. While the food tastes good, it is not always presented in an appealing way, which takes away from the overall dining experience. I'd rate the presentation closer to 2 stars. Service and execution can also be inconsistent. There have been multiple occasions where items were forgotten or missed entirely. While these issues may seem minor individually, they add up over time and affect the overall experience. I'd rate punctuality/ service at 2-3 stars Cleanliness: 3-4 Stars Another area that could use improvement is cleanliness. From my experience, the dining area is generally acceptable, but the restrooms are often not maintained to the same standard. On multiple visits, the bathrooms have appeared dirty, and the trash bins have frequently looked full or overdue for emptying. While it hasn't been bad enough to make me leave, it is noticeable and does affect my overall impression of the restaurant. Takeout: 1 Star for Timing, 5 Stars for Packaging Ironically, the presentation of takeout orders is consistently better than what I've received while dining in. The packaging is neat, organized, and the food generally arrives looking exactly as expected. For takeout presentation alone, I would give 5 stars. However, the timing of takeout orders is consistently disappointing. I've ordered takeout multiple times, and almost every time I've arrived at the scheduled pickup time, the order has not been ready. Delays of 30-40 minutes seem to be the norm rather than the exception. My most recent experience was particularly frustrating. I placed my order about an hour ahead and selected a 6:00 PM pickup time. When I arrived on time, I was told the order would require another 40+ minutes. When I asked why, I was informed that the kitchen doesn't begin preparing takeout orders until the scheduled pickup time. That explanation makes no sense to me. If a customer orders an hour in advance and selects a pickup time, the expectation is that the food will be ready around that time. Otherwise, the pickup time is really just the time the restaurant starts working on the order. Delays can happen, especially during busy periods, and I would be understanding if this were an occasional issue. Unfortunately, after multiple takeout orders, this appears to be a recurring pattern. The food quality is the reason I've continued coming back, but good food alone can only compensate for so much. Between the inconsistent dine-in presentation, missed items, cleanliness concerns, and repeated takeout delays, the overall experience falls short of what I would expect. There is definitely potential here, but the restaurant needs to improve its execution, attention to detail, and respect for customers' time. Would recommend going to the Niagara Falls, Ontario location instead.
