We came for a late lunch after exploring Ponce de Leon (Mosquito) Inlet Lighthouse. We were seated quickly near the arcade (which is also the furthest point from the restrooms). While we didn't partake in the arcade games, they did accommodate our request to change the tv station from sports to cartoon network. ‍ My oldest child ordered a garlic bread appetizer, which seemed to please the kids. A burger, kids' sliders, naked cheese dog & fried fish sandwich later, we were ready to go back outdoors and brave the heat to get back to our room. Was there about a year ago and had the great Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich, it was excellent and a couple of times after that it was good, could not wait to go back. Unfortunately, the last time about two months ago, the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was only 1/4 full. When we asked the waitress, we were told that it was not her problem and that's how they are and to talk to the cook, it was really busy on that Friday night, but not enough to be rude. When we left there we saw a few things inside and out that made us not to want to go back to that area at night. The oyster pub is huge, outside of some special events it would be hard to imagine it being hard to find a seat at anytime here. The service was quick, friendly and attentive. The appetizers were very good. The charbroiled oysters were as good as those in New Orleans, but a tasty substitute nonetheless. The fish dip was about as good as fish dip gets, and my family loves fish dip. Everything else was either average or completely forgettable. The wings were no threat to any " best ever" contest. The calamari seemed premade and lacked freshness. The hot dog was meh, and it's hard to say that about a hot dog. The chili was equally average. Perhaps the most disappointing is what they called "hush puppies". More like a flavorless fried dough with an unpleasant texture. They are no longer open as late as Yelp lists. They close at 11:00 pm now during the week. That said, many places in Daytona were closing at 9:00 pm. I ended up eating at Oysters Pub multiple times during a 3-day work trip. The food was very good, hot, fresh, and came out quick! I tried the Philly Cheesesteak, the Fried Buffalo Shrimp, and a half order of nachos that was still massive. Drinks were fairly priced and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend Oysters. I know it has been around for a long time, but must have been recently renovated. It looks brand new and is sparkling clean. My guest of calm and professional character walked into the Oyster Pub for a lemonade during his afternoon walk and reports he was cursed out because he innocently commented that the price was high for the size container. My guest, who is a pastor from another state, reports he was shocked that the manager and another employee used profanity to inform him that since he had not yet purchased the drink he was not a patron and that if he did not leave they would call the police. I, too, am a pastor and am embarrassed to hear such a report of unnecessary aggression and rudeness from a business in my community. I pray that Oyster Pub management and staff will receive customer service training and extend an apology to my guest regarding this incident. read more

Came to the Oyster Pub while visiting my parents this past November. Really nice upscale bar with comfortable banquettes and a large bar with seating. Sat at the bar where the staff were extremely friendly and helpful with cocktail and food recommendations. Had the grilled oysters - and these were honestly life-changing. I'm an oysters Rockefeller girl and I would happily trade those for a grilled oyster any day after having these. We also had the coconut shrimp which was crisp and light on the outside and plump and juicy on the inside. Hands-down the best I've ever had. In the mood for some steamed oysters, we decided to give Oyster Pub a try. An early dinner, as is our custom, we were able to park on the street right outside the pub. We were seated right away and our fantastic server, Dominica, came right away and took our drink orders. We had already looked over the menu and decided on Steamed Oysters and Coconut Shrimp appetizers and splitting the Seafood Plate. Darn. Both the Coconut Shrimp and Seafood Plate were off the condensed menu since COVID! I still got my Steamed Oysters and my wife ordered the Nachos Grande for her meal. It was probably a platter for two, so good thing. I tried a bit also but we had trouble finding the cheese supposed to bind it all. So Dominica brought a bowl of queso blanco. My oysters were great, mix of small and some bigger ones. Real horseradish was nice with a good kick. I also had the Fried Shrimp plate. A loaded plate of large shrimp, lightly breaded and delicious. Coleslaw was ho-hum, no problem. Side order of onion straws was hot and yummy. Even with a little help from my wife, had to get half to go. I guess I am having crap luck lately. So we ate here last night for our date night we ordered chips and Salas and some onion straws. Our main meals was a cobb salad and my husband got wings. Well the food was great and Elizabeth our server was AMAZING!! now idk if our food got cross contamination but when my husband and I got home we got super sick throwing up and the other thing. Majority of the night h t. We think it was food poisoning and had to be cross contamination. I give it a 4 star causw the food and service is good. Maybe ours is just a fluke. And I don't want to bash a business especially if it doesn't happen often. As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by kind staff and was immediately seated. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and was very aware of the food we ordered. I ordered 2 dozen oysters and mahi mahi tacos. She asked me if I wanted the oysters first and then put my taco order in because she didn't want them to get cold and wanted me to have time to enjoy my oysters... I'm so glad she did because I enjoyed every bit of those 24 slimy shell creatures with lemon and cocktail sauce. The oysters were freshly shucked to order and were very clean tasting. We also ordered the fish dip which came on fresh sliced local bread toasted perfectly and the dip had a great smoky flavor to them. I then moved onto the mahi mahi tacos which was also very fresh and the jalapeno mayo sauce they give you really brings the taco to life. My wife ordered the bang bang shrimp tacos with a side of bang sauce and they were freaking amazing. Topping the meal off, we couldn't decide on the key lime pie,. chocolate peanut butter pie or the cheesecake so we ordered each and every one of them were delicious in their own way. I wanted to get the oysters but my shellfish allergies kinda prevented me from doing so. Note they looked amazing and I had pout face watching them be delivered to tables. I had gator tacos. Gator is all that!! And no it does not taste like chicken. After some quarters (football) we got hungry again and split a sloppy joe grilled cheese with sweet potato fries. Soooooo gooooooooood. Walked down from our hotel on a recommendation from my son, who I let use Yelp to search for dinner and because of his ability to read yelp's reviews, this place did not disappoint... he even got to choose the desert later on! As you can see his oysters were fantastic! Cooked to perfection and I didn't hear him speak until they were gone! I had the Mahi Mahi platter blackened and it was wonderful. Hush puppies looked/tasted fresh and paired nicely with a Stella. FIL had the firecracker shrimp tacos and he was happy as well. Place was not "packed" for a Saturday night, but you could tell this was a good place. Didn't get but saw the ultimate nachos and they looked huge!
