Great sandwiches in this little gem located next to the old Winn Dixie on A1A in DBS. Small place with booths and seats at the bar. We had two great sandwiches - the Harvard Heavy and the A-Frame. Both were delicious - and large - we each took a half sandwich home. It was quiet just before noon, but started filling up as we were leaving. I guess word is out! The cold cuts were fresh as could be and the combos - like cheddar and peppercorn horseradish on the HH and Brie and apple chutney on the A-Frame are so amazingly different. Man oh man am I glad I had to be in DB Shores for an appointment because I got to go here afterwards for some lunch. The Tsunami sandwich was stacked high and came on the most perfectly toasted bread. The potato salad was different than I'm used to but was so good I ate the whole serving of it even though I had intended to save some to have with the other half of my sandwich that I took home. Food and service are terrific. It's no wonder Salty Pint is rated so well. We've eaten here for several years during our Daytona visits and have never been disappointed. Looks are definitely deceiving, this place is a must!! Located right next to a WinnDixie in a shopping plaza, can't miss it. We were greeted upon arrival and could sit anywhere available. The server came over immediately with menus and took our drink order. Menu isn't huge but everything sounds wonderful and everything we ordered was!! The tsunami was great, very flavorful. Neat little (6 or 8 tables) pub with a mostly local clientele. We were well taken care of by a single server and a cook who doubles as a server. The draft list is short and not too adventurous but plenty of craft beer available in cans. Wine was pretty standard (Frontera) but priced accordingly. There is a menu of a dozen sandwiches and there were 4 specials on a chalkboard. I selected the Nor-Easter and got a Kaiser roll piled high with roast beef and a cup of au jus. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich special and it was a generous portion. Potato salad was $3.50 extra and well worth it. I asked them to pile on the horseradish and was given a cup with probably 2-4 ounces to apply myself (I overdid it). Thursday night is Trivia and the place was packed with players and the atmosphere was lively to say the least. We had a good time. The chili was really good, they serve with cheese and sour cream but I like mine plain. It is a little sweet and has corn so almost reminded me of a Brunswick stew. For my sandwich I had the Italian. I was a big fan of the previous establishment (Festhaus), which was a true hole-in-the-wall dive bar. This new Salty Pint is more than just a new coat of paint. It's bright, comfortable, and I actually appreciate a short menu if the ingredients are fresh and the portions are big. Which they are!!! This is a beer and sandwich joint. Exactly what this side of town needed. You have a lot of local craft beers on tap, plenty of bottled selections, and the sandwiches are YOOOGE and delicious. I had the Tsunami, and every element was balanced! The server was a lovely young lady who was very attentive without being "hovery". And the food gets out to you quickly. It has several sizable tv screens to watch a game and a beautiful bar. You'll see what I mean when you get here.
