My review is technically two and half stars. Because its 50/50 with this guy. Horrible customer service skills. If you have a question he has a rude and cocky answer. This guy took a week to finally do my truck. I made multiple attempts to reach him and every time he either didn't show up forgot something. He told me that the tranny blew out on his truck and his RV got bad gas mileage. I was as respectful and as patient as i could be with that situation. I first called him Thursday morning for a key (i lost them) for my truck and he said he could be there at 2. He showed up at 7 and did my ignition key and said he could not do the door part key because it was too late and too dark for him to see. Even though he is 24 hours(hmm). He said he would come early the next morning and he never did. Said he would come Sunday and never did. And it was the same thing everyday until Wednesday when he showed up missing a part. So he finally showed up on the day of me posting this a week later. I asked for 2 extra keys on top of the one he was gonna make. He made one extra key. He did apologize in a very s$))ty way for how everything all the delay so i guess I have to take that. It wasn't a real apology but whatever. Then he tells me that I can just make a copy and he doesn't have other keys so once again he is missing stuff. This guy needs to find another career or retire. He barely finished the job I asked of him a week later. I had the flu the whole time so I wasn't in the best of moors but was still respectful. And I would not be posting this or be upset but he was taking up other jobs the whole time he made me wait. He was doing jobs and finishing them in the week gap. That is total bulls$)5. Finish the job and remember what you have to bring for work. This is your craft with supposedly 20 years experience. It should be second nature. Finish the damn job. Then he told me he lowered the price when I paid him. He says "well I did alot of work". And its like no that is the price that we agreed upon in the beginning and it should be cheaper since you made me wait a week and acted like a cocky d&3k. I was hella patient and very respectful the least you can do is throw in 2 keys free of charge. I now have to take that one of the good keys that he gave me and go make 2 more copies to finish the job. So if you decide to try this guy you might have better luck if he has his truck. Don't expect him to be respectful. If he is good for you. If he reads this he probably won't apologize he will just argue with me and make up some excuse. I never wanted somebody out of my life so bad. I was as humble and as respectful as I could be. I gave him the benefit of the doubt every-time because I was forgiving. I was trying to make light of things and make jokes and he still had an attitude in the end. I called him multiple times just before posting this and he ignored my calls. I am done and that leads me to this post. Everything that I just wrote I could have forgiven if he were the least respectful. Because some people are down on there luck sometimes. Oz Lock & Key delivers some amazing service. They are mobile and 24/7. Very convenient. They came out to my place because the trunk of my 2006 Nissan. The dealer wanted to charge me $250 and then change me for the parts and service. I was like I just need to get my spare out for emergencies. Why would I pay that? But the locksmiths came out worked on the trunk until they got it open. I was in awe at how strategic and efficient they were. I don't know what the other poster meant by they were pricy, but that post was three years ago. For my service they only charged $65 to get into my trunk. read more

I was locked out of the house one day but luckily was able to uber to work. During lunch break I called Oz to schedule an appointment for the afternoon to unlock the door when I got home. Brian answered the phone and agreed to meet me at 4:45-5PM. I texted several times before the agreed time to confirm and even called several times when I was sitting outside the house with replies like, "I'm on my way," "I'll be there soon," "I'm close by". There I sat like a homeless person for almost 2 HOURS on the street. And when they finally showed up for less than 30 seconds of work, they still wanted full compensation. I was EXTREMELY disappointed by their lack of responsibility and not being straight forward from the get go. Like, let the customer know if you can't keep the appointment time or need to reschedule. Don't just keep giving false assurance. read more

These guys are awesome. I had a really difficult situation with my car. Not usual at all. There is really no one in Palmdale area that would/could work on a Mercedes. I called these guys late night, and was reassured they could get the job done. I have AAA coverage, they sent 3 different drivers out with NO success. Oz came out, got the job done in about 30 minutes. Not once did he even give me the impression he could not do it, or would give up. I highly recommend Oz Lock and Key to everyone. Out of any review I've made I fully recommend OZ I called and got a voice mail which was rather concerning but sure enough like 30 seconds or so I got a call back. The lock on the door was a tough one and I sat praying until I heard the click clack of the door opening and my elderly dog coming out to say hello to the person working to get in. First time ever dealing w this type of bs and OZ made it in... Try this guy first, look for others, and if it's the same you'll get a call back before u can make the call. Also many of the other numbers route u to a service and good luck there after 6pm. read more

I locked my keys in the car....again....(I'm such a blonde some time lol) and had used up all my AAA rescues for the year and it would of cost a small fortune to have someone sent by AAA to come open my car. I called up Oz and was delighted to find that he not only could come open my car but would cost less AND he would be able to come right away! He was fast arriving. Super nice and it took him less than a second to open my car and he didnt take advantage of a situation where he could of charged a lot more knowing you have no other way to get in your car with help. I lost the electronic key to a rental car I rented last week. I was in a panic to get it replaced before I left on a trip so we could get the car out of our garage and returned to the rental company. The car couldn't be towed back to the rental store because it was parked head in, in our garage and towing it from the rear would have damaged the transmission. Brian had a replacement key!!!!!!! and was able to come out that same afternoon!!!!!! and custom program it to save my life. I'm am extremely please with his service and knowledge and customer care. After being an hour and a half late, it took him 3.5 hours to re-key 3 locks. 2 of the locks were smart locks, and he managed to mess up one of them where the electrical piece did not work anymore. After working on it for almost an hour, we said we needed to leave. He proceeded to charge us full price (without even acknowledgong the fact that he left us with a broken smart lock or even offering to come back to fix it or replace it). He also installed a useless handle on our other door with the lock on the handle just spinning. He wanted $35 for that, and when I asked him why he would even install something like that, his response was "that's not even the security part. It's the deadbolt." We refused to pay for the defective part (still never got the acknowledgement or apology for the smart lock) and will make sure all family and friends avoid this company at all costs. read more

I first required service from OZ Lock & Key (Brian) back in April 2014 for my Lancaster property. He patiently waited with me for approximately 1 hour til I was able to get into the property. He was overall nice, polite and did the job within 20-25 min. I again needed his services so I arranged and booked an appointment with him 1 week prior for an 8:30am appointment. This was a very important appointment since it was my lock out date with the Lancaster Sheriffs. I even confirmed with him (Brian) the day before to make sure there was no problem and of course HE NO SHOWS!!!! I was so upset,frustruated and dissapointed. After waiting an 1hour and leaving 4 voicemails I am left with no choice, but to google the nearest lock smiths around the area. (Stressfull) Finally Brian has the audacity to call me and basically said, he fell asleep. I was so desperate for a locksmith that I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt he stated he was "hurting" and needed the job.He stated he would be at the property within 10 min. I waited for 30 min and he called me approximately 5 times to ask me how to get to my property apparently his navigation wasn't working on this day, to my luck and frustration! FINALLY BRIAN decides to show up and he is totally under the influence of DRUGS/ALCOHOL! Yes DRUGS/ALCOHOL! This man couldn't stand straight for 30 seconds and looked horrible he was even slurring. I was in SHOCK! After the hassle I had been through I was done! This man is a total dissapointment and I would never refer him to anyone, I can't beleive he even works under those conditions. The man was sent home and I had to call a different service for help. I would rate him a negative 10 if possible!!! Alternative Dr. Lock! As fate would have it, we lost the only key to our car. I had previously broken mine and somewhere between my wife's classroom and her car the key was lost for good. Brian quoted me a great price to have a new key completely made. If I had to have my car towed to a dealership it would have been a $600 experience. Instead I was quoted a $175 price and that is what I paid. They came out to my wife's school and completely made a new key for her car. Since it was a newer vehicle I was worried about the transponder key. I didn't have to be. Oz's automotive locksmith expert has over 20 years of experience doing the job with AAA in Los Angeles. They were courteous and explained the entire process. They are the only 24 hour locksmith in the Antelope Valley. I will be having them make me another car key later this month. I hired them to get a replacement key for my car and after I gave a deposit to seal the deal, the guy avoided my calls sending me to voicemail for 4 straight days! We called this company to change a lock on a rental property that unfortunately the tenant had to be evicted from. They charged an exorbitant amount and then only provided us with one key. Wish I could give this place zero stars. Was out of town for the weekend and left my five-year-old and two-year-old boys with a sitter. Sitter calls me on Saturday morning at 12 pm and says she locked herself and my two sons out of the house while they were playing in the backyard. I am panicking, I am two hours away and there's no spare key other than the one I left her. I called a couple places and no answer and finally Oz lock and key does. Guy was nice and polite and said he would be at my house between 45 minutes and an hour. Great! Imagine my surprise when I text the sitter at 1:15 and she says the guy never showed. I called and no answer, I called again and a guy answers and says "What? He should have been there, he left 20 min ago." OK well that doesn't help me since he isn't there. He assures me that someone was on their way so I hung up feeling better. 2 o'clock rolls around and I get a phone call from the tech saying "Umm. Did you still need someone, I got caught up in an emergency" UM YEAH! My kids are still outside in the backyard. So long story short, 2 1/2 hours later, my kids get let back in the house, when I called to pay, I got the worst attitude from this guy who said "I don't want to hear anymore of this" when I asked him to adjust his service change after quoting me one thing and showing up 1 1/2 hrs after and not calling with an update.
