this pawn shop has a weird way of doing things. they have no problem selling people items that have being excessively used but once you sell them the same item you purchased from the 2 months prior, they have a problem. 2 months ago I purchased a go pro from this place with a loose charging port. it still worked so I purchased it. I didn't really use it in the time I had it because I ended up with a second Iphone. once I brought it back, all of the sudden they have an issue accepting it as it was. i find this odd because they wouldve had to check for issues when they first acquired it and again once they sold it to me. when I mentioned i was returning it i got this spill about how he wishes he could buy it back but cant. but they'll sell you busted and used items no problem. lucky there was another pawn a lil further down the way that bought it no problem and at a higher price without any issue. funny how that works. if you buy from P&J, make sure it works and has no issues because they wont take their items back. read more

Don't go here to sell your items they gouge people the amount they give you for silver is nothing so I wouldn't see them giving you top dollar for your gold and they don't buy things with screens because they require internet and I was told I had to consider the area so basically they're saying people in the Dallas area can't afford internet read more

I used this pawn shop as my FFL dealer for a firearm I purchased online. I changed my mind like twice or three times about keeping it or sending it back. I found a gold chain on Offer Up, the guy named B" posted to meet him at the P and J Pawn Shop to test the gold and verify it was real. I met the guy at P and J Pawn shop. 2 managers were present, One named Vince and a European guy named John. The Guy I met on Offer Up B", and the 2 supposedly managers all acted as if they did not know each other. John tested the gold chain, He said that He did an acid test and a magnet test, and they both passed, He made an Offer for the gold chain of $940. B" said He didn'thave his I.D so Since they tested the gold I was more comfortable with buying it. I played B" $900 cash for the chain. However as soon as I bought the Chain, B" walked right over to Metro PCS and turned his phone off. I was suspicious and decided to stop at a near pawn shop and get it tested there. They knew immediately that the chain was fake and failed both tested. I called the Pawn Shop and spoke with John. He played his role and stated that once you leave the Pawn Shop then the gold they tested must be tested again. I took the chain back to them to see if the offer for $940 was still on the table, Vince was there whenever I arrived. He remembered me and said that He would still give me $940 but He would have to confirm with the manager , which was John. John is the initial guy who tested the Gold. And He is the one who made the Offer saying that in fact the gold was real. But now today He is saying that that exact same gold chain failed the test and proceeded to accuse me of bringing in a different chain. This is a organized scam. And I could tell that these 2 guys have been doing this and gett6 away with it. But this time they screwed over the right person. I am currently working on a Federal Lawsuit against P and J Pawn Shop for falsely identifying gold as real just to entice me into buying the gold chain knowing the whole time that it was in fact fake. I told John that He scammed me and is part of the problem. He said No that guy B" scammed you not me. Well you John are the one who intentionally made me believe that the gold was real by testing it and making an Offer on the chain, this is their M.O to get cash for fake jewelry and then split the money amongst each other. read more

This place is a hidden treasure. It has a very wide selection and you never know what you're going to find. The prices are more than fair and I've found the staff to be friendly and always willing to help or answer a question. Definitely one of my top 5 spots on the east side. read more

I really don't think the white guys at this shop likes dealing with black people. I visited this place on two occasions. The first time, I tried to sell them a microwave, and a DVD recorder, which both worked perfectly. They passed on buying the microwave, because of a "so-called" rust spot inside of it. They rejected the DVD recorder, because of a few scratches on it. They act like they only take items which are like new, but looking around at the things they had for sale, I saw many items which looked well worn! The second time I went in there with my wife, who wanted to buy a small gun. She doesn't know anything about guns, so she asked me, " Which one should I get?" I told her, "If you want to know anything about their guns, then you should ask them...I'm not in it." So she went to one of the guys, who initially ignored her by continuing to converse with his co-worker, then finally asked her, "How can I help you?" She told him that she wanted to buy a small gun. The guy refused to sell her a gun by saying, "It looks like a drop buy, so I'll have to pass." Basically, the pawn broker automatically judged us, figuring that she was buying the gun for me. I found that ridiculous, because most men would not be caught dead with a .25 caliber handgun, and I am one of those "most men!" So, if you are not white, I do not recommend doing any type of business with P&J's Pawn Shop at 4501 Columbia Ave., Dallas, TX 75226. These guys were so rude to me. I stood at the counter for a few minutes waiting on assistance while they were talking to each other. I think after three minutes, one of them finally acknowledged me! I don't recommend anyone to do business with P&J, because I believe that they are racist. read more

The customer service here is great!! Jennifer, Jasmine and Natalia are wonderful employees. There was a discrepancy with my husbands ring and they took it back with no problem. Then, they let me pick a ring, of my choice (which exceeding my prior purchase) free of charge. They might not have a big selection of rings, but the service here is great. read more
