These are brand new appliances?????? After 7 hours on the phone today I am done. Been doing this for months now. Pc Richard's you beat me out of thousands of dollars. I had a very nice experience with the manager Emron but unfortunately after that it went down hill. He helped me replace a lemon refrigerator that they tried to repair twice. Unfortunately when the replacement was delivered the installers ripped my vinyl flooring. An arrogant man called me and offered me 1/3 of my repair estimate. Didn't even apologize for the damage and since it's my rental property wanted to dismiss the issue and thought I would accept his pathetic offer. I felt compelled to share my experience with PC Richards of Elwood. Our Fridge ( purchased in 2008)..stopped working( that's a whole chapter and verse on how appliances have the life expectancy of a bic lighter). I contacted the customer service Dept. Was given an appointment.. shortly thereafter, we are talking days, a repairman arrived.. informed us that it could not be repaired..I was contacted by P C Richards Regarding my extended warranty ( which would expire 12/2018..whew!.. )..I was given a credit voucher for the broken fridge.. I visited the store, where I was assisted by" Greg". He showed me my options. After my selection , Greg prepared the paperwork, asked me when I wanted delivery ( hey what a concept!).. My fridge arrived within the time I was told.. Old one removed, new one installed Flawless! Thank you PC Richards for your professionalism For recognizing that Customer Service is not just a term you spew out.. People always remember When they are treated with respect. read more

I ordered a fridge from this location. we purchased the floor model since the salesman told us that it was only a floor model since it was sent to the wrong location. When the fridge was delivered it was broken. Brian the manager told us that we wouldn't be able to get an exchange since it was a floor model and we would only get the value at sale. we wound up finding a cheaper model and getting it delivered. when I checked my statement I noticed I was never credited the difference. I spoke with Brian again who told me that he would provide me that the would process the credit (thank goodness I called) with an additional credit for the inconvenience. It has been a few weeks and while we received the difference, I never received the additional credit. There needs to be some accountability. I know there is a contradictory reviews showing 5 stars from me. We were told we would get an additional discount by giving a 5 star review, so please disregard that. read more

i have never had such a horrible experience as I have been having with PC Richards. I purchased I $3500 refrigerator and after 9 months have to call for repairs two weeks for them to figure out the machine was I not repairable . The manager at Patchogue was pleasant and helped us immediately. We had the refrigerator replaced and then the nightmare starts The third party delivery vendor pulled out the refrigerator without placing any protection on the wood floor after being repeatedly told to use something on the floor to avoid scratches. They then bent the copper water tube line and charged us $400 to fix it. I told them the price was outrageous and they said we already started removing the fittings so if i didn't pay they wouldn't turn the water back on. It was Saturday before Easter so I paid the $400. i told them about a dent on the refrigerator door and that they scratched and damaged a 5 month old refinished wood floor. I complied with the request for photos and estimates. In fact I sent photos the very same day! PC Richard's response "the company (that wore PC Richards T-Shirts) had the right to inspect the floor. I agreed reluctantly because they are incompetent, unprofessional thieves. Two months later, over 40 phone calls to the claims department and this 3rd party vendor and nothing! PC Richards is standing behind this incompetent company instead of a customer! The delivery service keeps not show up to appointments they set. Three days I took off work and they were a no show! Now I have a damaged refrigerator I paid thousands dollar for and a damaged wood floor! DON'T BUY FROM PC RICHARDS!!! Please do yourself a favor!!!!! read more

I have been a customer of P.C. Richard & Son since 1968. Today I visited the Elwood location to purchase a window air conditioner with specific measurements so it would fit in my casement window. Salesperson Michael Kinsley was extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. I was able to purchase a unit with the measurements I needed. While completing the paper work, Michael explained every detail regarding the pricing, and delivery procedures. I am a satisfied customer who will continue to shop P.C. I had a delivery set up for a dryer. It goes in the basement. My broken dryer is the same size. The delivery guy says it won't fit without even coming in the house. He drives away with my dryer. I reschedule for 3 days later and when the day arrives I am not on their schedule. I call store and the manager repeatedly tells me I will have the dryer that day. Well guess what NO DELIVERY. PC Richard, Buyer beware.... when you purchase a "Service Contract" you will most likely be handed off to another not so "Dependable" company for your repairs. This can take weeks even more, but still your appliance doesn't work. PC Service dept 1-800-696-2000, is skilled at saying they will call the sub contractor who they gave your service to, and what you get is they are trying to get answers. UGHHHHH 3+ weeks, NO dishwasher and NO answers!!! I bet if I never took service contract, they would have fixed it in a day or two so they could collect the $ ( which they already have) in a hurry! read more

Store service was okay -- refrigerator delivered today - 1 hour after installer left, refrigerator leaked - 20 minutes on line with, in my opinion, rude customer service rep (then I was put on hold) - before being put on hold, I explained that kitchen flooring was expensive and could be adversely impacted by water leak - explained that such an occurrence would lead to litigation so easier just to replace defective refrigerator -- told to " do what you have to do" - well, okay. Would be easier to replace or repair but it seems that P.C. Richards would rather litigate - well, so be it. Then installer called (very nice young man) and he explained water pressure in my residential home too powerful for refrigerator (huh--sounds like refrigerator may be defective, if that is the case) and he would report matter to P.C. Richards, which was very nice of him. Refrigerator still leaking, floor may be damaged (let's hope not), and P.C. Richards (except for installhas not exhibited a care in the world. We were ready to buy an air-conditioning unit and possibly a washer and dryer. We walked in and went to the air-con section. The salesperson (his name started with a "W") approached us. Mr. "W" was such a horrible, condescending and annoying sales person that, 10 minutes we walked into the store, we did a 360, and left. Mr. "W" had no people skills and cannot believe that we were treated with such a horrible attitude. He made us feel like we were worthless. Never been treated by anyone like that ever at a store. And guess what? We went to Sears across the street and spent over $3,000 worth of appliances! Take that P.C,. Richard and Son! (And what could have been a good commission for Mr. "W"!) Had a problem with 1 item when I opened the box a week later. My call was immediately returned , problem understood, and a replacement was waiting at the store when I got there 2hrs later. If you expect a warm greeting and expect to be even offered assistance (even before you ask) go across the street to best buy! For a store that doesn't EVER seem to be very busy there sure are a lot of employees who just stand around and do idk??? because delivering customer service is not it. If one expects to get help without seeming like you put any of the employees go out of their way than you are sorely mistaken. I had purchased a laptop here which was a huge mistake. I should have known to turn around and exit when I walked in and stood around for 20mins before I could get any help. Well not soon after the computer had serious problems but they refused to fix and said I had to bring it to another location. Which I did because I had a warranty. Well of course the thing was a total loss but they said they would get me a new one to replace it. Well I had to drive 1 hour to 3 different stores before I could get my replacement because they were unable to get me a replacement at their store or at least have it shipped from one store to another. So all in all I learned that BEST BUY is the store for me and obviously for many other people considering how packed it always is!!! read more

I haven't been to a P.C. Richard's in years as my last experience was not a good one. Was I wrong! I decided to give the store a try as someone had told me that they deliver grills fully assembled. I was very happy that I did so! The sales people, especially Dean, were friendly and knowledgeable, without ANY pressure. Dean was able to pinpoint what my needs were and to steer me to products that I felt very good about purchasing. And the delivery process was quick - I was fully informed as to what time to expect it, and the guys could not have been more pleasant and professional. I will definitely make the store my first go-to place when I need appliances in the future. read more

So, I went in here the other day to try and buy a washing machine. From the minute I walked in with hubby, the vultures were all over us like flies on shit. At least 4 sales people approached us within the first three minutes, and I had to keep telling them, I'm just looking, I mean, when I am ready for help I'll come and find you, so stay away until I ask for help. They all stand like 10 feet away from the customers, lurking behind and watching their every move. It is so annoying. They may have had good prices or a big selection, I don't know because we didn't stick around to find out. Okay,so I have never publicly trashed a local ( or any) business but here goes: Let me preface this by saying that I shopped at a big box mattress store & online but decided to go to P.C. Richard & Son in Elwood, because I'd been very happy with them in the past. I ordered mattress & an electric frame 2 weeks ago from PC Richard's, the delivery was scheduled for and showed up on September 8th, the correct mattress was sent, but a one piece frame was sent that would not fit up my stairs. The salesman never asked if I lived in a one or two story house and the delivery men said that for a two story house a two piece frame is normally needed. Mistakes are made, no biggie, the delivery was rescheduled. Delivery was rescheduled for Sunday the 16th. The delivery men unboxed the frame outside brought in the two pieces and then discovered that they were given duplicate pieces (A&A not A&B). They set-up the pieces so I would have a place to sleep but the unit is not functional (cannot be raised, lowered etc). After several phone calls I'm now being told that I need to send them proof of what I have, and locate a number on the frame or if I'm not able to do that submit photos to them. They can't do anything with out me providing them info on what I have (I guess their own delivery men who called from my house to explain the issue aren't "proof". On-top of this I've had to take down art/photos off stairway wall, move furniture for access, move storage bins & I have company coming on Saturday in the midst of this mess. I have commute to NYC and have at least an 11 1/2 hour day every weekday, so that rules out any weekday deliveries and I'm being told that even if they can get this mess straighten out that they are not able to confirm that they will be able to prioritize delivery for 1st thing Saturday so I can live up to prior commitments & also prepare for my company. I do not think that it's too much to expect that after all this inconvenience and my wasted time that this will not be able to be accommodated. I cleared two days to be home for deliveries, I have commitments the next two weekends that I am not able to change, nor do I think that should need to. I'm hearing, "it's not my job, I can't guarantee it", " it may not be convenient for the delivery men". What about my convenience??? How much of your customer's time is expected to be wasted PC Richard & Son? I don't think I'm being difficult or unreasonable but apparently they do. I have been dealing with PC Richard for 30 years and have recommended them to many people, but based on this experience I am ready to say just come back and take it all away and I'll my business elsewhere. This is my first YELP. I am a very frustrated and unhappy consumer.... Ok here is my story : I purchased a BRAND NEW LG french door refrigerator with two drawer freezer compartments 14 months ago and spent $1500. We bought this product during the PC Richard employee pricing event. I did not purchase the extended warranty. I was above my budget already. On 9/21/12 the freezer lost temperature and all of our frozen food was a soaking mess. I called LG and of course they were no use reciting the one year warranty had expired. I called PC Richards @ 4067 Jericho Turnpike Phone (631) 543-8500. Again USELESS. They also said that the product is only under warranty for one year. I pleaded my case and explained that a product that is slightly over a year old and is obviously defective should be granted at least a one time exception. I was basically thrown to the wolves. I called for PC Richard service and set an appointment only to have a brand new inexperienced tech come to the house and leave with a reschedule of another tech who never showed up. I am waiting a third tech appointment today. I called LG and asked if they would at least cover my food loss and of course they said it is not covered. I will never again buy from PC Richards. I will Never again buy another LG product. I will always take my business to Best Buy. Where is the company I could trust. Where was the honesty,integrity,and reliability? I certainly did not get any of what their company website promises. Also as a consumer you can not speak to or complain to anybody higher than a phone rep. PC Richard lost several long-term customers because of their ineptitude. My family has bought exclusively from them and had in the past recommended them to friends. No more. I bought some appliances from them for my new home. The refrigerator stopped working after a month. Fast forward three months and Whirlpool can't fix it and won't replace it. I went back to talk to the manager at PC Richard to get them involved. Explained what was going on and how Whirlpool won't do anything to help at this point and asked for them to get involved. The manager told us to get in writing from the Whirlpool tech that it was irreparable and that he would personally get involved. Did what he asked and even had the tech talk to him on the phone. Claimed he thought I said the appliance was more than a year old (a blatant lie since he saw the receipt when I spoke to him and noted how new the fridge was). Won't do a thing to help and recommended I get a new fridge!!! This one didn't last a month and I paid almost $2,000 for it! How is this legal. Between them and Whirlpool no one I know will assuredly ever buy a Whirlpool appliance or buy a thing from PC Richard ever again. Is all the business they lost really worth the fridge in the end? PC Richard did make right on it and replaced the defective unit. For what it's worth I will continue to buy from them, however I will avoid ever shopping at that particular store again. After seeing my review someone from another office called and he (named OShane who was so helpful and nice to deal with) helped fix the situation. Again he restored my faith in PC Richard but I'd still avoid that East Northport store and go to a different one instead. read more

I bought a Samsung refrigerator & their extended service warranty from them 3 years ago. The Ice Maker has broken 7 times. Each time they send a service technician to replace a part and the last time they replaced the whole ice maker. That was 3 months ago. Now the ice maker is broken again, and the entire fan/compressor/cooling unit is broken as well. So, we called their service department again. They REFUSE to replace the refrigerator until THEY declare it "unfixable". My thought is if you can't fix it in 7 tries, including replacing the broken part, you should probably stop trying. Three out of the 7 service technicians they sent to my house admitted to us that they get service calls on this refrigerator for this problem all the time and that it is a design flaw from Samsung. Now they are making me wait 10 days for the next part they need to "fix" it again. 10 days with NO REFRIGERATOR and twin 7 year olds??? REALLY?!?!?!?! I called the store and they said that the service department is completely independent from them and they can't do anything either. I should not be having this many issues with a 3 year old fridge. I am convinced they just want to send their salaried technicians out until the warranty expires so that they can then leave me stuck with the lemon they sold me. I have to give a shout out to Steve (Store Manager, Elwood Store) who really backed us up and came through for us. We had been dealing with a defective Viking appliance for about 1 year. Constantly had repairman and never could be repaired. Steve supported us and was really the only reason this range was eventually replaced with another brand. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of the very bad Viking experience but would definitely say Steve was a 5 star player. Thanks so much for all you did for us! read more

Have an extended warranty in my dishwasher and called for repair. PC Richard passed the repair to Whirlpool Service and gave me an appointment in about a week. I called to confirm appointment two days before scheduled date to get a time. The first call I was put on hold for 38 minutes. I then hung up. Called again today to be put I on hold for 49 minutes. I had to hang up because I had an important incoming call. My friend has been doing this since August to have her washing machine repaired. The repair person never shows and then she had to call and stay on hold for about 70 minutes to get new appointment. She has gone to the laundromat every week for 3 months. Still hadn't been fixed. PC Richard makes a big profit on these extended warranties and should be responsible for the repair companies they pass the service to. Don't buy from PC Richard and never purchase their extended warranty!!! read more

I purchased a floor model Microwave and was assured by the salesman and store manger at the time of sale it was in like new condition. Well it is not. When I called for service even after purchasing the 2 year extended warranty I was put on hold while the service department checked, apparently with the store manager Anthony who told her to tell me to bring the unit to the store and they would replace it with a new one since it would cost them more to send a service technician to my home to repair the door lock and clock issue. I went to the store and Anthony directed me to the salesman Mike who was great at his job to help me. He did not have one in stock to replace my damaged one I had brought with me but he could order one that would arrive in two weeks. He placed the order and waited for Anthony to approve. When Anthony checked it he said no he could not do it unless I paid the difference of what the store cost was and what he paid initially. Approximately $70.00. So he wanted me to pay to repair a product I purchased with an extended warranty on after being told not to worry it I was covered if it was defective. They on the other hand did not want to spend their money to cover the extended warranty. They want the consumer to pay the bill rather than honor their warranties. Never again.
