Horrible, Horrible. We brought a refrigerator with confusion on measurements for delivery. No one understand width x depth. The manager who worked on August 17 th was rude and I overheard him saying ( why do I have to get on the phone ) Horrible customer service. The only saving grace wasmanagerDavy Brown. You need more managers like him. The old refrigerator depth is exactly the same as the new one , however the delivery guys said my doorway width was 25 inches. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION!!! Service was below quality customer service..i went to purchase a washer and already had in mind which washer i would be selecting.. Instead of beginning the necessary steps to make the purchase Michael kept trying to upsell a more expensive option which was unprofessional to me as customer because i had already made my choice on which item i wanted which washer in my budget..the washer was delivered without the included box containing the metal clamp for the drainage hose.. i called the two guys who made the delivery and kept being told that they didn't understand English which baffled me because they spoke it perfectly when calling to tell me that they were 20 minutes away..their customer service overall was unprofessional.. i placed a call to the pc Richards location to address the issue and was told Michael would be returning my call which never happened ..so this will be my last time purchasing anything from this location..and I recommend that they retrain their staff how to provide better customer service read more

This is my first yelp review ever. But I feel very strongly about this so here goes. I ordered a dishwasher. I knew what I wanted so I didn't need any consultation, so the only thing needed was for the salesperson to process the paperwork for the sale. My building requires a Certificate of Insurance for delivery. Salesperson says it would take 3-5 days but usually it's pretty quick. The salesman said he would follow up. He did not. I was the one who ended up doing all the following up about the COI. It took 6 DAYS for the COI to be approved. It turns out that they outsource this to an insurance broker who only has one person to do this task for the entire store! This person was out of the office. So nothing got processed. They have no backup. Then there was the delivery. There was no installation ordered, just deliver and removal of the old unit. The window for delivery that they gave me was from 11-2. I called to get a status update as there was no delivery during the window. They did not notify me they were running late. Worse off, I was told that I was scheduled for #13 out 16 deliveries. How can they tell me that the delivery would be 11-2 when that was impossible from the beginning? Then they told me it would be delivered between 3-4. No show. They showed up at 4:30! The delivery coordinator was defensive in our conversations. With each of these inquiries I was placed on hold for lengthy periods. I take pride in shopping local but after this experience, I cannot recommended to this store. Every step of getting this was an ordeal. I paid a whole lot of money for non-existent service. read more

I went here to look for an AC and had a great experience. The first day I went in, I spoke with the manager Kima and another sales associate-- can't remember his name. Kima was already clocked out, on her way out, but stayed an extra 20 minutes to chat with me. She was very knowledgeable about their products. I showed her a video of my room and she was able to tell me which AC unit would best suite my room. To ensure that I got the right air conditioner in terms of width, she insisted I go home and measure my window. The next day I went in with my window measurement and she had one of her associates Ibra help me. He was also very attentive and provided excellent customer service. I mean he even convinced me to buy warranty. But he did provide me with a $20 discount which was nice. I decided not to go with the delivery and install by P.C. Richards because my super agreed to install it for free. After I bought the AC, Ibra waited with me until my uber arrived and a different associate carried the AC to the store. Next time you go in, make sure to ask for Ibra! read more

I'm exhausted from yet another major appliance dealer nightmare. It's amazing how many unscrupulous tradesmen are out there who do not hesitate to try to cheat the customer. After extensive research, I decided on a Frigidaire model to replace my dying refrigerator. The Harlem store had it on display, so I went down to see it. It looked fine, so I sat down to do the deal. It has a built-in ice maker in the freezer, and they even sold me a spare water filter. The sales person knew nothing about the product he was selling, and had trouble even looking up the dimensions of it. I found them faster than he did. I asked about installation costs and he said that delivery and installation were free. When I called to set up delivery, I wanted to confirm the installation. I spent an absurd amount of time convincing the salesman that the ice maker needed a water line. He had to go speak to a manager to confirm it. I even pointed out that the extra water filter he had sold me meant that indeed there is a water line. I once again mentioned that the line on my existing fridge was 20 years old. Once he realized that, it turns out they charge $240 for installation. I paid. No mention of any additional charges for replacing the old line. That meant postponing the delivery an extra few days to allow for installation time. When the installer arrived, he demanded an extra $150 in cash to hook up the line, saying that replacing the line was not included in the installation fee. No checks, only cash. Both the installers and I spent countless time on the phone trying to reach either a customer service agent who could resolve the issue of whether or not the installer was correct in charging me extra. My scammer and I bonded over the hopelessness of reaching anyone. Finally, I spoke to the store manager, who first assured me that the extra $150 was not approved, and then a few minutes later, after talking to the installer a third time, decided that it was fair. Once he did it, the installation took only a few minutes. All in all, it cost me $400 for hooking up a water line to a $1400 refrigerator. It's a scam. Buyer beware. Make sure you know all the costs up front and do your research independent of the sales people, who know absolutely nothing about what they are selling. read more

I've shopped PC Richards for years. This review is for the West 125th Street location. This location is large with a good variety of products. A typical PC Richards location. However, why is it that there are scores of employees, but no one willing to help?! The cashier has nothing to do. They are all chatting with each other, looking at their phones, yackin it up. Even security is in on the viewing party. I watched as customers entered, and not one employee would look up from their phone, no one greeted the customers. Why is this place even open? How does it survive? I am convinced this must be part of some money laundering enterprise because not one worker is interacting with customers. Or, maybe there's a casino downstairs?! If you know what you want, and just want to pay, this could be the place for you. Don't come here if you need information about products, service, installation, delivery, etc. read more

Do not by an air conditioner from this place. I purchased an AC, paying an extra $100+ for the unit the sales person insisted was the quietest. And I paid for their supposedly "professional" installation. When it got installed and turned on, it was literally the loudest AC unit I've ever heard. The installers lied and said "that's normal with this brand. It will quiet down in half an hour" then left. Well that never happened. Hours later I'm on the phone trying to get someone to look at it. They couldn't come back for a week. Then that guy couldn't fix it and I'm stuck waiting another 10 days before they can bring me a replacement. Huge fail all around. The up sell, the lying installers, the multi day delays at every step. At this rate summer will be over before I have an AC unit that works right. Save yourself the trouble and avoid P.C. In March 2022 I purchased an entire kitchen ensemble. Microwave, dishwasher, stove, fridge. I wanted the color slate which GE makes a line of. The salesman "Rafael", said no problem. I gave myself plenty of time ahead of my kitchen renovation to allow for delays in shipping. Over the next few weeks, little by little, the appliances were delivered. Then, lastly, the oven came. We took the box of and discovered it was a gas oven. I needed electric. At first, when I called, they sad, "Well, you ordered a gas!" Really? Why would I order gas when I have none? Then, after several days and several calls to the manager, they said they would NOT pick up the gas stove for a return! If I wanted credit, I would have to return the stove myself! So, I rented a trailer and brought it back to the store. For my inconvenience, they knocked off $300. I thought that was very nice. Then, after speaking once again to Rafael, he said "It looks like they are not making that model anymore." I then went to the manager "Kenny". He said, "Naaa, not true, I will order the electric one for you." That was in June. He said about 6 weeks. July came and went. August came and I called the store to check up. (August 27th) At the front desk, "Jackie" spoke nicely to me and said she would check into it and call me back immediately. On September 1, she finally called me back saying the rep said there was a "chip" shortage. "The chips are made in Boston and then shipped to Maryland to be made." She said she would call me back on 9/13. On 9/16 I physically drove to the store and asked Jackie what's up. (Since she did not get back to me.). She said, "I promise I will get back to you right away." On 9/19 Jackie got back to me and said the the stove will be in on October 12th. On October 12th, Jackie called me and informed me that they are not making this particular stove in the slate color any more. "Would I be interested in her looking around for another make close to that color?" On October 15th I drove to the store and asked for my money back. Jackie informed me that they don't do that. She would give me a credit to the store. She repeated this several times. It wasn't until I was about to lose it, that she called in the manager. I explained that the order was screwed up, I had to personally return a product that I did not order, that I was lied to from the get go because the original salesman (who is no longer there) said this stove is not made anymore from GE, and then the constant back and forth for months. In the meantime, I am boiling water on my gas grill because I don't have a stove! I called another appliance store where I live. "Some in stock and some take 4 to 6 weeks." The new salesman confirmed that this particular stove I ordered from P.C. Richards ceased production. I went to his store and saw other models of GE slate. P.C. Richards did not even investigate if GE made other models in the slate color. Although I did not get the oven I had originally wanted, I did in fact get the slate color that matches all the other appliances. 7 months of waiting. Nothing but incompetence from the entire team at the Lawrenceville store. It wasn't until I raised my voice that I got a refund. Is it any wonder no customers were in the store! read more

Our new construction building had challenging space issues that did not make it easy to select and install our washer dryer. Our installer Emmanuel was also top notch, a great problem solver with a cheerful disposition. Both Juma and Emmanuel made it possible for us to get the machines we wanted - this was not an easy feat given the space and hook up challenges. We were ready to pay a few hundred dollars on an AC but Usman and Ben found out that our AC that's not working properly is still under warranty!!! If I could give zero stars I would. Where do I start? I went into the new 125th street location to purchase a stackable washer & dryer on a Thursday evening. I had a nice conversation with the sales person on the floor and proceeded to place the order for delivery and installation on that Sunday with a representative the day before (Saturday) coming to confirm the measurements I provided. Wonderful. On Saturday morning I receive a call from a man, who I believe to be the measurer confirming a time period for his visit. The time period passes and after speaking with multiple individuals at the store, it turns out that 1) my address was not put in correctly and 2) the individual did not attempt to make the visit for unknown reasons. I was informed that the measurement could be taken the next day - Sunday the day my delivery was scheduled. On Sunday, in confirming measurement appointment, I was informed deliveries could not be made the same day as the measurement and that my delivery would take place the following Saturday and that the store was sorry for the confusion/inconvenience. This is after waiting all day Saturday and a large part of Sunday - there goes that weekend. No offer to compensate me for my loss. Fast forward to Friday evening at 8:30PM and I have a just missed a call from an unknown number and attempt to call back to no avail. On Saturday morning, I check the P.C. Richard online system and it shows my delivery is on track for Saturday delivery with a window of 7:30AM - 11:30AM; I call the store to confirm that missing the call yesterday did not affect my delivery, making the mistake not to take a name, and was told "no that is fine, your delivery is on schedule"; I also call the automated phone service and hear that my delivery window is 8AM-11AM. Fine. At 12:28PM, I phone the store again to find out that my delivery "was not scheduled". As I had missed the call yesterday evening, my delivery had been "pulled" and the automated system was not updated to reflect this (nor was the actual human I spoke with that morning). This is despite there being a note in the system about my issues with delivery the weekend prior and requesting the item be delivered no matter what on Saturday. At that point, there was no way to put the order onto the delivery schedule for today AND it turns out the store has policy in Manhattan that no installations are done on Sundays, so it is not possible to schedule a delivery and installation for tomorrow (which also means I was LIED TO when my original delivery was scheduled for the previous Sunday). So, I'm stuck with a $2,000 credit card charge with no washer or dryer in sight, a store manager who will NOT be in the store next weekend to oversee this absolute shit show for a third attempt. On this second screw up, I was offered a $100 refund (as if that was the issue); what I want is the items I ordered two weeks ago delivered and installed so that I can USE them.
