Absolutely do not hire these people. I hired them to address our Mitsubishi mini splits in our apartment. Three out of five were not working. They charged over $400 and told me my filters were dirty (I clean them regularly) and that did not address the problem. I have been trying to get them back for over a week and they continue to ignore my requests, telling me they're having trouble scheduling with their service department. When you approve their estimate, they charge you upfront (without telling you they will) for the full amount, and they then disappear. In my case, I got through after three weeks to say "what's going on?" only to be placed on multiple 20+ minute holds, then to have the repair scheduled, then to get a call back saying parts were still on back order for 3-6 weeks. Technician showed up hours late to look into a problematic stove. Stated they were not able to actually test the stove components, but were confident they knew what would need to be replaced and would provide an estimate. Bogus $700 estimate shows up later stating parts are "discontinued", so not even clear what I would be paying $700 for. So no real diagnosis, no real estimate. An absolutely terrible experience. In my opinion, they are either incompetent, dishonest or both. They kept telling me they ordered a part from GE for my refrigerator but that it was on backorder with no reported date for delivery. After repeated follow-up for quite some time with no end in sight, I contacted GE directly who confirmed the part was discontinued. I contacted Mr. Appliance to get my deposit back. On no less than 4 occasions, I was promised by Mr. Appliance that my credit card would be credited for the deposit I put down. Each time I inquired, they had another excuse and promised the refund would be processed within the next few days. Many customers, including myself, have had issues where they pay upfront, appliance repairs are not made, they request a refund, they never receive it and Mr. Appliance stops returning their calls. This is what happened to me and I wanted to share my experience. My Samsung washing machine stopped working in July 2025. Things started off well with Mr. Appliance NYC--I booked an appointment online for a technician to come the next day. At that visit, they said that the motor drive system in the washer was not working and needed to be replacement. I was given an estimate of $1,309.46 for parts and labor and although that seemed kind of high to me, I preferred to make the repair as the washer was not all that old and to avoid the hassle of ordering and buying a new one. An appointment was scheduled for the repair to be made, but I never received a confirmation and I had to call them to find out that they were still waiting on the part and the next appointment would need to be rescheduled. It took almost a month for the new part to come in and a new repair date was scheduled, at which time a technician came and replaced the defective part. The washer worked for a week or two and then stopped working again and had the exact same issue as before. Another appointment was scheduled--the technician failed to show up at his scheduled time, but did end up showing up later. I was told thatp perhaps the new part they had ordered was defective and they would replace again. A new repair date was scheduled--new part replaced again and the tech ran a quick wash cycle, said washer was working and then left. I then did a regular cycle of wash and it did not work at all/same issue. I immediately called office to let them know. Was told that technician was doing research on this and they would be in touch. I continued to call and they kept telling me the same thing. We are now into September (so I have not had a working washer and this has been going on for 2 months)--I scheduled yet another appt over the phone with the technician. I did not receive a confirmation, so called the morning of appointment to get a more specific time frame and was told that they did not have me on the calendar and that I did not have an appointment. I told them that I did and they agreed to send the technician later that day. The technician came and confirmed that he had spoken with Samsung, no error codes were showing up on washer, and that it was not working and that he was not able to repair it. He told me that he would be writing up a report and putting in a request for a refund as the original issue had not been repaired or resolved. Called Mr. Appliance office later in the afternoon and was told that they did not yet have the technician's report. The next day, I called Mr. Apppliance office and was told that they had the report with the refund request and were working on it. I asked them when I could expect the refund and they said they did not know. I told them I would continue to call back and check. In early October, despite numerous phone calls, I never heard from Mr. Appliance again about my refund or anything else. read more

Very poor communication on coordinating appointments, service persons seemed to have no experience, wrong part was ordered then I was charged for the wrong part and service. Currently in the midst of a charge dispute and will consider rectifying the poor review and give some credit to honest practices if resolved fairly. Dude, heed my warning - don't do it! I had to pull them off the repairs and get someone else to do it. Then had to go through my bank to get the couple of thousand I had dropped on them instead of them doing the honorable thing and paying me back themselves. The project started in early January of '24 and it wasn't until April that I finally put the kibosh. I had them doing the washer and the refrigerator and the guy would show up without the parts to do one or the other. I booked the service online and was given an appointment. When the technician arrived, he provided a price estimate without doing a full diagnostic. On their website it says there is a $149 diagnostic fee, but this fee is waived if customer does not accept the offer. In reality, they still charged me the diagnostic fee. I wanted to take sometime and share feedback with you regarding the recent service call I had at my home in Bethpage on 11/30/2023. I had called your company earlier in the week due to an issue with my dishwasher. When I called to arrange for the appointment, I stated that I had heard what sounded like the spring on the door snapping and then there was no tension on the door. I assumed that the spring needed to be replaced. When the technician arrived, I explained what had happened and he opened and closed the dishwasher door. He then proceeded to explain that the part would need to be ordered and that another appointment would need to be scheduled. He seemed experienced and I trusted his assessment ultimately taking his word for it and agreed to pay half of the service fee at that time. After the technician left, my father who was present with me felt that something was wrong with the assessment. My father who is a retired Amtrak Acela train mechanic got down on the floor of my kitchen, removed the bottom panel and stated that he could visibly see both springs and they were intact. He then proceeded to slide the dishwasher from under the counter and stated that the door cable was actually off track as it was caught in the installation that is wrapped around the dishwasher. He removed the door cable and cut away the extra insulation and then proceeded to reassemble the spring and door cable. This fixed the issue we were experiencing. To sum this up, not only was the diagnostic that was performed 100% incorrect causing replacement parts to be ordered that were not needed, but my trust with your company was lost. At no time, did the technician get down on the floor and actually inspect the unit. I am sure he is very knowledgeable, but I trusted his initially diagnosis, believing him and as I stated. Honestly, I felt a bit taken advantage of too. Now, I understand that I had already paid $160 for this service, but I feel that this money should be refunded. The technician did nothing except arrive at my home and open/close the dishwasher door and told me he did not have the parts it would cost over $300 to be repaired and I would need to arrange for another appointment once the parts arrived. read more

They came at the wrong time, then when they did show up, they never sent me an estimate. When I called to inquire, they said they didnt know the serial number (which I then provided). Then, armed with that, they STILL didnt send me an estimate. When I told the woman answering the phone at Mr. Appliance that I was uneasy about booking them because of the negative Yelp reviews, she said "don't worry about the reviews. This entire experience was a mess from beginning to end. Our first appointment was canceled, in the 2nd appointment they arrived 2 hours early. They needed to order something in order to finish the job, two weeks later the same team returned to put the facing on our dishwasher and they drilled too far in and cracked the facing of the dishwasher. It can not be fixed. The technician also took a set of keys off the kitchen counter, we are assuming accidentally. The keys were returned after we checked to see if by chance they had the keys. We had to change the locks of our apartment since someone having the keys for 24 hours does not feel like a very safe option. I wish I had read these reviews prior to calling Mr. Appliance. They were quick to book the appointment and the repair person was friendly, but it was all downhill from there. They said they needed to order a part for my dishwasher, but the part needed was no longer even made, so they would have to try to get it somehow from outside the US apparently. They charged my card in June and said they would refund the charge if they couldn't find the part. Months later, after I called and checked to follow up with them, it became clear they could not get the part, even though they assured me that the majority of the time, if we just wait long enough, the part will come through. I have called 6-7 times since July/August to try and reach them to get a refund. I was able to speak to someone 3 of those times, once with a supervisor, and each time they promised me that the refund had been initiated and I would see it on my credit card within 2-3 business days. Now it has been about two to three months and I have yet to see a dime. Just buy a new appliance or go elsewhere. I would give them negative 5 stars if I could. I have spent so many hours chasing them and they just lie to my face. I've never ever worked with a company with such poor integrity. I never leave reviews, but this one needed to be posted, if nothing else as a public service. Save yourself! Run! And warn your friends. I wouldn't wish this company on my worst enemy! read more

If I could give five negative stars, I would. Stay away from this service. It is a waste of your money and time. It is expensive, the markup of the parts is high, and for the amount of money they charge you (which they were eager to do), the waste of energy and time on the client's part is utterly maddening and ludicrous. If only they were as swift and efficient in actually fixing things as they were eager to charge my credit card. So I called to have them take a look at the fridge and dishwasher. The technician came quickly enough, but afterwards I have lost track of the number of times I had to call them to get a correct and itemized estimate and practically everything else that needs coordination and confirmation (with the only exception of course when they wanted to get the approval to charge my credit card). They were quick to call you when they want you to approve that exorbitant amount on the estimate, but once you say yes to it, the services afterwards fall abysmally short of the price they charge. Three weeks after, the technician finally showed up at the very end of the scheduled window, but he told me the size of the glass was wrong, and that he would place an order of the correct size of glass that same day and that I would receive a confirmation from Mr. Appliance once that order is in. NOTHING HAPPENED. I called three days later, told me they'd do it by end of day. NOTHING HAPPENED. Called again the day after, the woman told me in fact they STILL have not ordered the glass and will let me know when they do. Each time I call, they review the notes, they talk to the technician (yet again), saying they'd place the correct order, and each time it did not happen. At this point, they have completely lost my trust. Needless to say this process cost a lot of my energy and time, as a professional with a baby on hand this truly is the last thing I need after shelling a thousand dollars. Mr. Appliance of NYC has apparently been charging sales tax on professional services for over ten (10) years. The sales tax laws in New York exempt professional services from sales tax. No company should be charging sales tax on profession services. I'm not one to typically write negative reviews, I prefer writing good ones, but the service provided by Mr. Appliance in Tribeca is horrendous. Likewise their dispatch is rude to boot! We have had to move our schedules to accommodate 4, that's FOUR, separate visits to our residences to fix our subzero ice maker and it is still broken. I can understand a couple visits, but 4? The lack of competence of our repair man on working with subzero fridges is readily apparent. Likewise, they "fixed" our stove top lighting mechanism a ($1000+ part) and it still misfires. Unacceptable. Save yourself the money, time, and frustration of dealing with these folks. We have asked our board member friends to stop recommending them to residence in our building. read more

They sent someone here (30 min later than the window) he came in for 90 seconds and told me the LCD controller was broken and needed to be replaced. I already knew that I told him. So, they finally showed up to repair my washing machine on the 3rd appointment. They had cancelled 2 previous appointments without telling me. The first time they never sent a confirmation email and when I called the morning of the appointment, was told it was the following day. I did get an email later in the day, confirming the appointment and giving me a 2-hour window. 30 minutes after the window closed, I called and was told my appointment was the following day. I wasn't able to be home that day. I asked to speak to the office. The woman there had no answer as to why the appointment was canceled. Nor did she seem to care. I advised her that if they did not keep the 3rd appointment, I would call my credit card issuer to dispute the charge. The repair man, who had done the initial evaluation showed up an hour before the scheduled appointment. Fortunately I was home. It took him 15 minutes to repair my washing machine. It works just fine, but it was an extremely frustrating and slow process. It was similar to the bulk of the reviews here. In the past, they actually did show up as scheduled and repaired the appliance. The repair people seem very friendly and competent. It's just hard to get the company to actually send one. read more

Called Mr. Appliance to come look at our gas stove that was struggling to keep an even flame in the oven and making a growling noise. Giving 2 stars only because the gentleman that came to diagnose our stove was a nice guy. That said he was not an oven expert and needed to call the oven expert to diagnose. He then gave me a price of $1550 dollar to repair the oven. My mouth dropped to the ground. I asked how is that possible. He said, well you need 2 guys to pull it out, theres sharp metal and lots of work. I quickly looked up the parts and they cost $400. I said hell no!!! I bought the parts, used about 5 hand tools, bought a gas leak detector spray for $7, pulled the oven out of the space by MYSELF and fixed the oven in about 2 hours. $1550 BANANAS! read more

This was one of the worst service repair companies I have ever worked with. My oven needed to have the thermostat and ignitor replaced in January. After a no show of the initial survey, which was rescheduled to a week later and lasted 5 minutes, I was misquoted by almost $400 on the 2 parts. When I called to review, the provider detailed "well, I don't know why he told you that". After approving the estimate a few days later and seeing the $500 charge (+ initial $195 service fee) come through on my credit card, there was no follow up or communication on when the parts would arrive and when the repair would be rescheduled. I was only alerted of the delayed parts when I called a month later to check in on the progress and scheduled the appointment for a Friday. After no confirmation of the appointment, I called the morning of the expected service and was told the parts were delayed and would be pushed until next week. It it now 2 months later and I still have no working oven or clear visibility on when my oven will be repaired. I will never be working with this company again. I live in the UK but this was in my NY apartment, so I got in touch with them. They sent over someone to do an 'analysis'. $200. Fine. They told me it needed $1,000 worth of repairs - new heat element, new pump. The dishwasher cost me $1200 and I have used it maybe 10 times since I bought it. I am rarely in NY. But fine. They told me they had sent over the team and had repaired the dishwasher. When I got to NY, it still did not work. I called them. They insisted that their team had repaired it. I live in a 'white glove' building, no one gets in our out without a lot of registration and accompanying. NO ONE EVER CAME HERE. They said they could send someone in a week to take a look. In the meantime, I went online and searched the problem myself, Broken door latch. I ordered a new door latch and replaced it myself. (Thank you YouTube). Total cost of the repair? $30. I am trying to get my money back from them. They could not care less. I am probably going to have to take them to court. I am sure it won't be the first time. My advice - STAY FAR FAR AWAY.
