I hadn't been to PF Chang's in a few years, so I went to the Chesterfield location for dinner Friday night at 6 PM. I used their website to set a reservation, that was fairly easy to do and we were seated close to our time. My biggest complaint is the cost for Asian meals here, it is not cheap. This was a second date so I expected us to talk a bit, and we did, so we were here for quite awhile. We never felt pressured to order, we were asked several times if we were ready but that was to be expected, our server was very nice about it. When we got down to it, it was very easy, my date had been here before and she selected Beef & Broccoli w/ white rice. I chose Teriyaki Chicken w/ white rice. We both chose Mich Ultras. My dates meal looked very good the broccoli was that bright green which indicates to me it was fresh and not overcooked. She said it was very good. My meal was very good, a nice sized portion and we got our rice in a communal bowl. No dessert for either of us, we were given the obligatory fortune cookies. All in, with 20% gratuity on the total, including tax, it was $65 or so. That's not terribly expensive but for Asian just seemed costly to me. Server was very nice, not pushy for more drinks, or to try wine or a specialty drink. That made the dinner quite enjoyable. If you have a desire for privacy you may want a booth, our table, designed for two, had a short privacy partition and sitting next to us, about 6" away was a couple on the other side of the partition. I presume our conversation could be heard by the other couple but I didn't feel we were being offensive to them. I don't ever really notice their conversation but my date and I could hear the laughter, children shouting, etc from a large family birthday group a couple of tables away because no partitions went to the ceiling, it's one big dining area. I do like PFC for Asian as the place always seems clean when I've been there. The food is expensive but for a casual night out it fits the bill. read more

We had a group to celebrate a 70th birthday which was fun. It was for lunch on a Friday and I was surprised the restaurant wasn't busier, but I guess it made for a nicer time. They have a good menu which allows a dining experience for even the pickiest of eaters. 2 folks each had the vegan lettuce wraps and the cauliflower side. 2 others had the pad Thai w chicken. Everyone liked those. Portions are BIG. I had the salmon w the miso glaze served on spinach, broccoli mushroom medley with lo mein. It was perfectly cooked and delicious! Our servers were so nice to allow us to bring a birthday cake in with us and bring us dessert plates and utensils. They also supplied some fun fireworks style candles! Interesting experience: went to PF Changs for the special and was pleasantly surprised by the half-price bottles as a part of the entree special. We had super service from our server. Lobster dumplings appetizer were cold when served and our server was quick to get it corrected which saved this review from going south. Food staff should be better trained or better at practicing their craft. Miso Salmon entree was very good as was the Pad Thai. I think the appetizer "pho-paw" was a wake up to the kitchen as it wasn't crowded and before the dinner rush. Server corrected it and had a great professional and fun attitude. I wish I knew her name but I reflected it with her tip. No manager circulating or coming out to check (not a sign of a leader or a manager). I'll be back for the next special. read more

My friend and I had a weird experience at PF Chang's in Chesterfield...our orders never came out of the kitchen. After we ordered and had waited about 30 minutes, our waiter approached and apologized for the delay. We said it was no problem. We really like the food and we were fine. During the next 30 minutes our waiter came back to our table several times, apologizing. He said my order was up and sitting under a heat lamp but my friend's order was not ready. Then he said, "Gentlemen, today your lunches are on me. No charge." We waited some more. After a total of an hour and 15 minutes with no food, I walked into the kitchen and found our waiter. I said, "Listen, we're going to go. It's not your fault. We like the food, we'll be back." He thanked me for letting him know we were leaving and we shook hands. My friend and I left and went to Mellow Mushroom where we were served in less than 10 minutes. I sent a complaint to PF Chang's headquarters but I didn't receive a response. read more

It's a beautiful day today so we called ahead to verify that the patio was open and we were told it was only to arrive and be told it was not. My 4 stars are probably generous but going toward positive side because our food was good. The biggest issue we had was the service- terrible. We waited for 10 minutes or so for someone to even acknowledge us. We were so busy catching up with each other that we didn't notice initially. Once someone came by we had to ask 2x for water. They do have decent drink specials- not sure if holiday only or always. (Martinis were $9 and glass of wine too). For starters we split lettuce wraps which were yummy as always. Main dish- 2 of us got orange chicken and 1 got teriyaki chicken. Orange chicken was spicy and I don't remember it ever being spicy in the past but that could be because I haven't been to PFC for quite awhile. As a family of 8, we were glad to find a place open on Xmas Eve that would accept reservations. It wasn't that we were "jonesing" for the place, but we hadn't been there for some time and thought...let's give it try. We pulled up...place is PACKED! Lines of people everywhere and I think to myself "I'm glad I have a reservation". I was surprised that this restaurant has been rated so low. I've eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. One thing I love is that P.F. Chang's offers flavored teas that AREN'T SWEETENED! It's so refreshing and, as someone who can't drink, makes me feel like I'm having something a little special. If you've never tried the lettuce wraps, those are a must! I also highly recommend the orange chicken. Unlike other more "fast food" Chinese places, the orange chicken is not at all grisly and *truly* tastes like fresh citrus, frankly this orange chicken has ruined me for all others. P.F. First of all we called up the hostess answered the phone said she couldn't hear us and then hung up immediately. We tried calling back for the next 45 minutes. The phone kept hanging up. Then we show up at the restaurant nobody is helping anybody who wants to place an order. They're all running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Finally, after half an hour, we get an order we get told come back in more than an hour. We come back an hour and 15 minutes later..., oh it's done.... Half of the food was absolutely ice cold. The other half was hot. If you're not gonna do it right, don't do it at all! It would've been better for them to apologize and say we're just overwhelmed. PF Chang's in Chesterfield has always been a favorite of mine. Our experiences here have mostly been positive. The atmosphere is pleasant and the place is always clean. The waiters are friendly and attentive. Our most recent waiter (Moe) was exceptional. I love the modern, sleek look of the decor especially since the remodel. The food comes out steaming hot and delicious which makes me happy You have the option to eat in or take out which we have enjoyed both. An extra bonus is the manager usually stops by to make sure you are enjoying your meal. They have made an interesting change to the menu where you have the option of ordering your meal in "medium" size or "traditional". Not sure I am onboard with this as there is very little difference in the size or price. However, stop by and decide for yourself. Overall, a pleasant experience. read more

My beer was not cold and the old fashioneds were not prepared correctly. Food orders were not right and took a long time. And the men's bathroom and dining room in general was trashed. This PF Chang's location is similar to all others in terms of decor. High ceilings, comfy booths even very large booths for large groups and dim lit. Over the years food quality has varied but tonight the taste was as good as when I remember enjoying coming here. The food is family style so you can order a few plates to share with the table. We started with the Dynamite sushi roll as an appetizer. It is really just a California roll with the shrimp tempura on top and way too much sauce on it. We also ordered a cup of Wonton Soup which was good. For the main entree, we ordered the Crispy honey chicken and the vegetable fried rice to share. This was tasty and plenty for two people to share. I admit that I have a soft spot for P.F. Chang's. I remember when they were only in "big cities" like Las Vegas. It just has a sense of nostalgia for me, so maybe I grade on a curve. That said, the Chesterfield location is well run. Last night I treated myself to dinner at the bar and was greeted by a friendly bartender who took my order and quickly delivered a glass of Malbec followed by an entree of orange chicken with brown rice. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was a tasty blend of citrus and spice. The bar quickly filled up with dads and kids and teenagers on a first date. The TV's behind the bar showed baseball and basketball, but I was happy to listen to the chatter of the other patrons and the bartenders. It can be a challenge to find a restaurant where I feel comfortable eating alone, but my experience at P.F. Chang's was a good one and I'll definitely be back. read more

Lightly battered, crispy and fun to eat. Egg Drop Soup Bowl $9 - There is a lot going on in this egg drop soup, large enough to feed at least 4 people. Had an unfortunate dining experience here. Though we don't go often, I usually really enjoy PF Changs as it's the only Chinese style restaurant where you can find gluten free options reliably. To be clear, the staff was great, from the hostesses to the server, etc. We ordered our usual dishes. I got the honey shrimp and my husband the GF Mongolian beef. The server was very helpful and let us know that you can add broccoli to either item if you'd like. The food came out really fast and I was happy about that. My husband's Mongolian beef was very good and quality was as usual. My shrimp however were disappointing. The coating had gone soft and was sliding off the shrimp. The rice noodles had also gone soggy. I'm wondering if this had been sitting for a while before being served to me. I've never had this experience before. As for the restaurant, it is large and follows the decor standards for this chain. There's a decent sized parking lot that's easy to access. It is a chain of course but that does give the advantage of serious menus with allergen info which is unfortunately necessary for some of us. I'd like to note that the vegetable fried rice description does not mention broccoli or mushrooms, and instead online gives you the option to add those, not leave them out. I did not select these, yet had to throw out a good amount of broccoli and mushrooms mixed in. If I was ordering this for a child, there's a chance they wouldn't even touch the rice after seeing those mixed in. If these always come in the vegetable fried rice, please include that in the description and make it more obvious during online ordering. I have been to PF Chang's all over the country, and while I don't expect authentic Chinese food, it has consistently been good quality food and the service has always been great. That was certainly not the case at the Chesterfield location. Took my mom and some of our family for her birthday. The server was mediocre and had to be asked for things several times (water, sambal, wonton strips, refills) and disappeared multiple times. We still had empty appetizer plates sitting in front of us when our mains arrived, which had clearly sat in QC for some time before coming to the table because the food was luke warm at best. Some of this could be understandable if the restaurant had been super busy, but it wasn't. I don't even entirely blame our server who was young, but the leadership at this location for the poor execution of the staff and clear lack of motivation. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend trying another PFC location or a different restaurant all together. read more

We made reservation for Easter Sunday. It wasn't too terribly busy to be honest so I was hopefully for great service. Unfortunately that was not the case. We were seated and waited 15 minutes before I got up to inquire with the host if we had a waiter/waitress since no one had come to greet us or take drink orders. Finally after another 5-10 minutes, a waiter came apologized and said he had to go get drink orders for another table and would be back- mind you that table sat AFTER we did. We got a few appetizers (2 of the 3 came to the table and we had to ask 2 more times for the thirds) and while the food was "eh ok" the service continued to be lacking. We asked for salt and pepper and didn't get it until the main entrees came and we reminded the waiter about it. They apparently were out of serving spoons so we had to use our own forks to scoop from the "family style" bowl of rice. The main entrees were ok, but I would have preferred going to Panda Express for the same quality and less price. The woman's restroom looked like it had not been cleaned all weekend. 2 of the 3 stalls had broken locks and they had broken soap dispenser. Trash was overflowing in the bins. We will not be recommending or returning to this establishment. read more
